I dont care how good the dance numbers may be, there is no way I am going to HSM3.

Chuck:cool1:

Good Saturday Morning! I trust everyone slept well and are well rested for their weekend activities. Rain is here and will last until Monday. Yuck.
I just love the elf idea!! I think I'm going to have to borrow your idea and do it this year for our DGS. He'll only be 13 months old but he'll grow into it. And I'll enjoy it!
I'm so glad Disney has the opportunity to do more HSM movies. Chuck - That must bring a tear of joy to your eye!:lmao:

Enjoy your day everyone!

Judy

Chuck:cool1:

My DH said the same thing. Though he will have to suffer through a HSM sleepover tonight where the girls watch the first two movies before I take them to the third tomorrow. I am actually looking forward to seeing it. Just be happy you have a DS9 and not a DD9.

Susan - glad to see there will be no legal issues with the BB incident and that you have an end in sight to her pain.

Judy - as another 3 cat owner, I'm glad yours came back home. Our black cat Goofy did that to us once. He escaped and we searched for him for days. Then one night we heard a horrible cry outside in the middle of the night and it was him trying to get back in. He was being chased by a stray.

Chuck:cool1:

So Chuck you and John will be first in line at every HSM Dance Party on the ship, right??? :rotfl2: For an FE gift I guess you would really like som red and white pom poms to take to the dance party. :cheer2:

Susan thanks for sending us some rain. My grass is so happy!!!

Susan, I'm glad that they're moving her surgery up. A week seemed so long to wait, plus being 1-2 days post op on the week ends is hard if you have any questions or complications. I'm sure she'll do well. Kids are pretty tough. My ds had surgery in Aug and he did remarkably well considering what a drama queen he is. I only had to dose him up with narcotics 2-3 times. He had a harder time clearing the drugs from his system in post op. He was screaming and thrashing, but that is pretty common in kids.

Judy, I forgot to tell you that I make the pillowcases just by finding clip art I like, and then printing it out on t-shirt transfer paper that I got at ACMoore or Michaels. I iron them onto the pillowcase and that's it. I add text to personalize it but it's nothing fancy. Wish I had Michelle's talent to sew!

Your friends sound like a blast. We're an Irish family too! DS's middle name is Connor... a family members sir name that has gone through the generations as a middle name for many. One of the other kids that came over was named Bronah (not sure if it's spelled right but it's pronounced Bro Nah). I had the hardest time remembering how to pronouce it. Wish I were joining you for lunch tomorrow. I love latin food and well, hot waiters too! LOL. We had our vow renewal in Diversions, I think. It was closed for our party. They took the kids and I through the back way, as a tequilla tasting was taking place. Then my mother met me at the door with Minnie bride ears, thinking I would actually wear them. Ha! Not after paying $40 to have my hair done.

Ken, sounds like you have some of Judy's ODD. You must have given your parents a run for their money.

Each Dec, we have an elf that joins us for the Christmas season. He shows up in unexpected ways (in the mail, sitting in a rocker on the front porch, via parachute stuck in the tree). I'm planning to bring him and a friend on the cruise and have them show up sometime during the week. Any suggestions? They are just little 10" stuffed dolls, but the kids believe they come to life each night and create all sorts of mischief. We have woken up to Elf jokes written on the windows/mirrors (with window markers), a zip line tied to the Christmas tree, underpants decorating the Christmas tree, etc. Sometimes little gifts may be left or if there has been some naughty behavior on the part of my kids, a report is made for the big guy. On Christmas Eve, the kids say goodbye since their elf will go back to the North Pole with Santa. I'm just trying to come up with some fresh ideas.

Thanks,
Shell

The elf is a great idea!! It reminded me of a cruise we did with around 30 others back in 2005. Before the cruise we “kidnapped” a stuffed beaver (don’t ask), from a local hangout of ours and took a bunch of pictures on the cruise of the beaver having fun. Trust me, with a beaver we could get very creative. We at one time had the cruise director bring the beaver up on stage and introduce it. It was a riot.

Shell--I love the elf idea! I especially think it will be fun to have the elf appear while on the cruise. I laughed so hard when I read the trip report involving Plankton. Did anyone else follow that report? It was hysterical!:rotfl2:

Judy--I've been thinking about making good choices. My family has made some pretty poor choices over the last several days, so maybe I should make a big banner to hang in our house reminding us to make good choices.:rotfl: They would all just love that.

Again, I want to thank everyone for their prayers for Brianna. She had a little break down last night because she's scared to have the surgery. I totally understand because I'm scared for her to have the surgery as well. I just kept reminding her that I'll be with her every step of the way and that we'll get through this. I'm so glad the cruise is so near so we have something good to try to focus on.

As to why they are waiting to take the bb out--the doctor said that he is more worried about infection right now than he is the bb. He says the infection could be more dangerous. Therefore, he wanted to have strong doses of steroid and antibiotic in her before doing the surgery. I'm glad they moved it to Tuesday though. We just want to put it behind us.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday. I have homework and housecleaning to do, but I think I'm going to make some bad choices today and say THE HECK WITH THAT STUFF! It can wait.:goodvibes

Susan

So who all went last night? We did - me, DH(yes - I said DH):goodvibes DD and DS. We all enjoyed it. Disney took it to the theaters for sure:banana:

Ken, somehow that beaver story does not surprise me at all, ha ha!! And I haven't even met you. That picture is priceless. I think you and dh would get along well.

We have coyotes around here too. I've actually seen two this past month, and we live in a pretty urban area. Every time I put my 15 year old blind/deaf Westie out, I get nervous that I may be setting her up at as a meal for a hungry coyote.

When we went to FL in Feb, my daughter had to bring a stuffed moustache from her preschool class. We dragged that stupid thing with us all over. We did a booklet of photos depicting his trip. You should have seen Aurora's face when I asked her to pose with the thing!! Everyone was really cool about it and were helpful in completing the project.

Judy, I was thinking about the waiters bringing the elves out. I like the towel idea too. I also thought about putting them on a lounge chair, with a towel, and a bottle of sunscreen next to them. Then I would have the kids walk by and see if they noticed. I just don't want to get caught with them or have some one snatch them up. Maybe the waiter thing is the way to go. I need to get this organized! Also, I am using the clip art of Peter Pan and gang flying over the ship for our pillowcases this year. If you'd like the pic, let me know and I'll email it to you.

Keep the ideas coming. Have a good week end!!
Shell

Susan, so glad that Brianna is doing better. It is scary when they our babies have to have surgery. I will be thinking of you all on Tues.:grouphug:

Chuck, I'm with you. I am so glad my DD's are much older and have no desires to see the movie. :rolleyes1

Judy, being a mom to 2 cats, I can relate. I have been their mom since they were a week old and when one came up missing (they are in door kitties) I was besides my self:sad1: . Several times each day I would be on the look out. Flyer's were up and calls were coming in with sightings. One week later he was found in a neighbors garage. His brother wouldn't have anything to do with him for a couple weeks after.:upsidedow

Shell, I too would like to borrow your Elf idea for my grandson. I will have to wait a year as he is just a month old but I love it.

Ken, my best friend also traveling with me has a sister who has a stuffed Koala (sp?) bear that travels around with pictures being taken of him all over the place. Maybe he should come with us on our cruise.?:confused3

Went to get more things for the cruise last night. I can't believe in 3 more Sat. we will be setting sail on my fondest dream. :cloud9:
The weather is gorgeous around here. We will be in the low 80's.:dance3:

I can't believe in 3 more Sat. we will be setting sail on my fondest dream. :cloud9:

That sounds so nice and so much closer than using weeks or days. Though I do have some nice stuff to keep us busy until then. Next weekend we're going to see Phantom of the Opera then the Sunday before the cruise it's the Bucs/Vikings game.

You guys are all cracking me up!

Shell - I'm asking the girls today for ideas for your elf. They're pretty clever and have done DCL before so they may have some good ideas. I may ask you for the picture. I haven't had a chance to look yet and Peter is a favorite!

Ken - The beaver is priceless! The look on the cruise director's face says it all. There are 3 towns a little north of Pgh. They are Beaver, Beaver Falls (Joe Namath is from there) and our personal favorite Big Beaver. Whenever there's a news story about Big Beaver my DH just falls out like he's in junior high! Some boys never grow up!

Ken - What's the beaver holding?

Hilarious!!!!!!!!!!! :lmao:

I can't believe you got Gene and Matthew to go too. I've only watched a small part of one of them, and that was enough for me. Maybe I just don't get it. The kids all seem to love it, but I just can't get into it. I think it's great that your whole family went though.:thumbsup2

Is it Bolt that will be released while we're sailing? I can't remember which Disney movie premier we should get to see while onboard. Someone share if they know. Actually, with less than four weeks to go, I wonder if we could call DCL and they'd already know. I might give it a try.

I went last night with a group of about 15 second grade girls including mine plus my 15 yr old DD and 5 yr old DD. It was a mom and daughter night we put together for the two second grade classes at Sarah's school so we all went out to dinner first and then the movie. Can you imagine the noise level at our tables?? I think the poor male waiter thought he was serving his time in purgatory for some terrible sin :rotfl: . The girls loved it and I thought they did a great job keeping their target audience in mind. I did my undergraduate at the University of Arizona so love that the mascot is a Wildcat.
Have a great rest of the weekend. Will continue our prayers for Brianna.

I am trying to decide what stuff I need to pack and what I need to buy. The website seems to be down and I can't remember what the schedule is for our cruise. I know what ports and such, but I don't know which night is formal, semi-formal, or pirate night. I'm sure it's been discussed on this thread, but I can't find it and don't have the time to reread through 200+ pages. Can anyone give a lost girl directions? :confused3 I'm hoping to go shopping tomorrow. :rolleyes1
I know someone posted navigators from a recent DD, but I can't find that either.

DH and I graduated from Kansas State University - also WILDCATS!

Susan - Bolt will premier when we're on board.

Bolt is bering released in theatres on November 21, but it is a 3D movie. I actually asked my husband the other day if it is only being released in 3D and he was not sure.

But I know someone lives in or near Las Vegas and the first week of November Bolt Across America will be in Las Vegas.

A few comments - no shortage of rain here - it is deluging outside.

As to HSM3 - Mason will love it and Lisa will tolerate it by taking him to it. I will not be in attendance and lets put it this way, I also have managed to never have seen SNF - and if anyone has to ask what that is I will really feel old.

As to buying clothes, Lisa always does that lest she be seen in some out fit that was in a picture from a previous cruise...I cannot win that argument so I don't bother trying too hard.

And for this weekend, we made it thru DS's annual checkup at 8 this morning, even surviving the booster shot, though it took 3 of us to hold him down, made it to the stadium a little after 9 - we know the doctor and he is a huge Oklahoma fan so he got us Hurricane fans out fast. Survived the tailgate and Miami won again, although we got poured on in the 4th quarter.

And tomorrow, we are doing what is called the Herald (for the Miami Herald) Hunt...when Dave Barry and Tom Schroeder (formally from Miami and now w/the Washington Post) host the annual puzzle game that turns several square blocks into a giant gameboard for 10,000 people...If you have never heard of this, check out HeraldHunt.com....and for those of you who know Dave Barry, you can imagine how devious some of the puzzles can be over a 5 hour game.
