11/15/09 Wonder

I thought I'd pop in to say hello :flower3: to my fellow cruisers. I'll have 20 family and friends with us so if you see someone on the ship going nuts with a large group it's probably me. Ages 2 - 71. Pretty good adult to kid ratio, 14 adults & 6 kids. All first time cruisers with Disney.

The week before the cruise 6 of us will be at WDW so I was up from 3-5 AM last Monday morning making ADRs and then trotted off to work half asleep. :tilt:

Next it will be time to arrange excursions...

Welcome Aboard!!! It sounds like you have quite a crew with you!!!
I like the ratio of kids to adults! at least 2 adults per child is the way to go on vacations ;)
I booked our dining reservations as well as a bibbiti bobbiti Boutique reservation this morning. Ohana sure is popular these days! We could not get a decent time on Thursday so we are going to to on Friday instead. (8pm with an 8 year old who usually goes to bed at 8 or so.... not a great idea!)
we have 83 days until our vacation begins. (and we go to San Diego!!!)
:dance3:

Okay I've finally been able to catch up on all the recent posts.
Love! Love! Loved! reading about your trip Jill. It sounds like you had a great time.

Coming out of the haunted mansion, there was a group of young guys that were talking about how scary the ride was - All of sudden one of the haunted mansion castmembers jumped out from behind a pole. Let me tell you it scared the bejesus out of those guys. They all screamed.

:lmao: :lmao: this was great and I wish I had been there to see it. I often do those things to my kids, many times I have hidden in a closet and as they walk by I jump out and scare them. And many times I have hidden in the closet and 20 mins later given up because no one has walked by. :rotfl2:

One year from our cruise I am moving here & I plan on working in Disney so I can go whenever I want.

I hope you realise that you will have many visitors (2 from Australia at the top of the list) if you go ahead with your plan. :thumbsup2

Please post photos from your trip ASAP.

Does anyone know how the list for the FE participation is going? We are leaving Australia 3 weeks before the cruise, so a cut off date would be very helpful for us. I would hate to have already left and not have a gift for last minute sign ups.

That's one of the great things about living in Australia. 6.00am east coast time is 6.00pm in Western Australia.

That would be wonderful!

I've heard the booking for excursions opens at midnight EST so at least we can start at 9PM.

For our cruise last November the booking window opened at midnight EST.
(Much better than the wee hours of the morning it was the cruise before that!)

I'm glad everyone enjoyed reading my little blurbs.
Got home this afternoon. Ready to go back.
Looked at a few places to live. I am making sure I get at least a 3 bedroom. 1 for me, 1 as a office & one for guests that will be most welcome.
My GS's GF took most of the pics. I wil have to download them. Give me a little time.:rolleyes1
Sounds like you would be great performing at the haunted mansion.
One thing I must remember from the backstage tour - one doesn't work at WDW - they perform - they are castmembers.

Hello to ACDSNY!
:wave2::wave2::wave2::wave2:

Had a ROUGH weekend w/ the kids. Toddler was just crying ALL WEEKEND starting tantrums  and not napping. and DH has been working 12 hour days for a week straight. SO, once DH got home tonight, I jumped online and completed our online check-in for the cruise! YEEEE-HA!!!!!!!!!!!! Momma needs a BREAK! :laundy:

:wave2:

We spent the day at an Oakland A's game (pretty hot for this A/C baby) and saw an accident right in front of us on the way home. A single car going too fast lost control, crossed over all highway lanes and hit the median wall, bounced back across all lanes. Luckily all cars behind him managed to get out of his way.

ppony - sorry to hear it's been a rough weekend.

We'll have 2 two year olds on the cruise with us, our grandson and nephew and both are still going through the tantrums at times.

Hey everyone.

Just got back from our St Louis trip. Spent 4 full days there at a magic convention with the whole family. Getting ready for it kept us REALLY busy the past couple of weeks. The kids had a stage act that they competed. They didn't win but they were asked to open the last night's show with some "really" big names in magic. I was a very proud papa. My oldest son did win the Junior close up contest. Very cool.

And at work they reminded everyone that internet usage is strictly for business usage. That means I needed to cool it for a while.

Anyway, this is what I have so far for the FE. If I missed something so far, which I probably have please let me know. I think we should have a cut off date before the cruise since there are some traveling before the cruise. September 30th seemed good to me. If you have updates or items you want included please shoot me an email at mmelito@kc.rr.com. I can include whatever columns you like and send you the spreadsheet directly too. Please let me know if you have any thoughts concerns etc.

Welcome ACDSNY!! I thought I had a big party, but you got me beat.

Does anyone have any teenagers like ages 15-17? DD and her friend are asking?????

Jill~~~DH was lookin at a Harley Saturday afternoon. He wants a Touring one... Maybe next spring......

DANG!!!! If you had been at SoG I would have asked if you wanted to come over and take a limo ride w/ us. We'll be at the Poly the 13th and 14th.

UPDATE for Persuethekingdom for us

We will be in #8548

I will be 39 and my DH is 44

My sons are Nicholas (9)
and Daniel who will be turning 2 just before the cruise

1st cruise for all of us!

Sorry no teenagers in our group. The kids with us are 2 - 9 yrs, grandson, nieces, nephew and two family friends that are the same age as my nieces. Our kids are grown and married, so we have a lot of big kids or kids at heart.

A couple of us are thinking about the Dolphin encounter and the Segway tour if anything is left by the time we get to register.

My kids are 9 and 2 (or will be on the cruise w/ the youngest). :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 It will be our youngest' golden birthday Nov 2nd which is part of the reason for the cruise. To capture it w/ LOT of pix wince he won't remember it and it kind of jipped out of the whole golden birthday thing being so young.

And yes, Krystyneb has teens. :goodvibes
The chart isn't totally updated yet. I'd do it if I can Excel, but I don't. I'm a Mac gal and never got into the PC based programs even when they were written for Macs.

Thanks for that Stephanie :thumbsup2

DD Angeline will be 17 at the time of the cruise and DS Jo will be 15. Angeline would love to meet up with Katie and Daniela.

We have also booked all of our excursions now. All of us will be going on the segway tour at Nassau. Jo is booked in for parasailing on Castaway Cay and Angeline and myself have a booking for the double jet ski adventure.

Don't be jealous - do it!

When I was a little girl I would listen to my Aunt & Grandmon say they wish they had done something. At that point I swore if I wanted to do something I was going to do it.

Most of the things they wanted to do - never happened. There is NOTHING that I wish i had done. I did it !!!

Unless he can't get the loan right now or has to wait - why wait 'til spring.

Buying a MC was not one of the things I was saving for. The bike I had was being a pain - I wanted to ride - it was time for the next one.

I may not be alive next year.
