11/15/09 Wonder

Hi!
DH and I are going to be on this cruise!!!
We just booked it on Friday.
We are doing a land/sea vacation with the resort stay being at the Poly!

DH and I have sailed with DCL several times, but we will have our (then) 8 year old God Daughter with us so we are looking forward to seeing everything new through her eyes!
She knows that one day when she is old enough (her brothers had to be 9) that she will get to go with us to Walt Disney World so I can talk to her about some of that planning.... But I will have to keep biting my tounge not to give away the cruise part of the secret.
:yay:

Glad to meet you. Finally someone else going on this cruise.lol Is it just you and DH? We are a family of 7 going..

We have known for a while we were going to go on this trip, but we just finally got around to booking.

We will have the following:

DM
DH
DD 16 will be 17 on the day we are at Castway Cay
DD 11
DS 9

We will have kids around the same age. Cool

Hi there
Not too many people posting here :confused3

Just booked this cruise. Been on 2 other cruises on the Magic (Eastern & Western)

Time for something different.

I had started a thread & was told to check out this one.

Welcome to the tread Jill!

DH and I are going on a Western Magic cruise on 11/1 of this year. After that we will be switching our focus to this trip!!

We are very excited about it since we have not been on the Wonder since our first cruise in 2003. This will also be our first cruise with a child. We will be bringing our God Daughter who will be 8 1/2 at cruise time!

We took her brothers to WDW in the past, so she knows that one day when she is 9 ;) she will get to go with us there. What she does NOT know is that her trip will be a land and sea vacation!

Hi

Thanks for the welcome.
:thumbsup2
So far, I love the Western cruise. The ports are more interesting.

I really hadn't planned on the cruise; but, I saw the commercial for going to a Disney Park for you birthday for free & I thought well why not throw in a 4 day cruise to round out the week.
:cheer2:

So, after the cruise I will go to the parks for 2 days (1 free)

my birthday falls during the "land" portion of our land/sea package!
We booked before the promotion started, but it sounds like they will still help make the day special!
Birthdays at WDW are great!

I see your bd is on the 13th - mine is on the 20th. We will have to have one drink to celebrate while cruisin.

hello Jill Welcome aboard.

My oldest daughter's birthday is the 17th. We have never cruised before this will be our first. It's like 12 of us now.. Can not wait!!!! 13 months and counting

You will love cruisin'.

One really cool thing about my first cruise. The hurricane was sooo bad we couldn't safely get back to port. Our cruise went from a 7 day to a 10 day. They finally gave up trying to get to Port we docked in Miami & the Wonder was docked next to us. The real cool part about that is the alternated blowing their horns which of course sounded really cool playin "When you wish upon a star". Gave me chills.

That is very cool!
I was always a little envious of the people that got some Bonus cruise. Even if it was unexpected.
There are certainly WORSE places to get stuck!

You're absolutely right.
they gave us extra entertainment. The only food they ran out of was the ice cream at the station on deck. They did have to go to Galveston for fuel. Since it was August it wasn't so bad. ;)

Here is something I received as a e-mail today. We do need some humor here & there. So here we go -

If you had purchased $1,000 of Delta Air Lines stock one year ago, you would have $49 left.

With Fannie Mae, you would have $2.50 left of the original $1,000.

With AIG, you would have less than $15 left.

But, if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drunk all of the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling
REFUND, you would have $214 cash.

Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

It's called the 401-Keg

Well all it's getting a little bit closer. :yay: 13 months to go until the :cool1: Big Trip:cheer2: I can not believe I started the countdown 11 months ago. I hope these 13 months fly by!!!!;)

Glad to see there is a thread already for this date. We just got back from our 4 day on the Wonder Sept 28-Oct 2. We rebooked while on board for Nov. 15, 2009. We also talked my DBIL and DSIL to join us.
