Congratulations Mousemom!

I have noticed in recent posts that some cruises are not giving out the pirate bandanas anymore and not offering the special pirate themed meal. Is that because they are 3 or 4 night cruises? We were looking forward to all of the activities.

Thank you!

I remember a thread about this recently. As I recall, it was the Wonder cruises where they were not giving out the bandanas, but that they still are on the Magic.

Do we need passports for this cruise? What about for minors?

No, you do not need passports as this cruise falls under the "Closed Loop" exception. Adults need photo ID and original birth certificates and minors need original birth certificates.

Just a quick, "hello" and a reminder to add any celebrations you have for the trip on our spreadsheet. Also, if it's a specific day on the cruise, you might drop that little piece of information in. (ex. celebrating Michelle's birthday 11/17 vs. celebrating Michelle's birthday) ;) This info is being added to the Mini-Nav!

(ok, so it's really a fairly thin excuse to post something when the reality is that I just wanted to admire how small the numbers are getting on my ticker. :rolleyes1 Work with me, people!)

Come on, you're from CT, you should be a red sox fan! Go sox! We're actually watching the Pats right now. Okay, how about this, Uconn fan? I'm a big Uconn b-ball fan. Usually preseason game is around 11/14...

I grew up in the Bronx, so that answers the Red sox ?. As for the Pats, I am a Giants and a Dolphins fan.

I do like Uconn basketball though!!!
And I promise to love every UCONN sport if the give my son a scholarship:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
I might even root for the Red Sox too:eek:

Woo hoo! We're going to Alaska with the Mouse!:banana::banana:

Booked us online this morning at 5 am my time. Gaaak. :crazy2: It went really smoothly, no slowdowns at all on the website. So we're all booked into a 5C on 6/21/11 with main dining. :thumbsup2

Anyone else care to join us for a reunion cruise? Denise? Don't make me do the workbook myself! :lmao:

Congrats!:cool1:We would love to join you as and have always wanted to do an Alaskan cruise and that summer in August is our 20 year anniversary and that week is my dh's birthday...but the deposit would hurt us right now...

:rotfl:I thought I was the only one! Post with an additional hidden agenda to see my ticker getting smaller ..your ship is a whole lot closer to the end than mine though:lmao:

Us too! We booked the 7/5 since we're open with the dates and that's the earliest summer dates with a SPH available. We'll probably compare prices when other cruises open 2011 dates though... heard they have better ports than Disney.

:yay: Me too. HUGE dolphins fan. We were actually at yesterday's game, sitting 20 rows up from the bench Pennington sat while the trainers worked on his shoulder. Awesome seats - just wished the outcome was better.

Congrats!:cool1:We would love to join you as and have always wanted to do an Alaskan cruise and that summer in August is our 20 year anniversary and that week is my dh's birthday...but the deposit would hurt us right now...:rotfl:

No kidding! The deposit for 3 of us was $1,800! Ouch!!

Don't forget to check prices for your cruise when we're on the ship in November. If the price hasn't gone up too much (or not at all hopefully), we can get the 10% OBB discount and OBC credit applied to our Alaska ressie.

I'm also going to be checking NCL and Princess prices - they both sail to Glacier Bay. By then we'll have a Disney cruise under our belt and a good idea of how much extra we're willing to pay to sail with Disney. We've told the girls that if the prices on the other cruise lines are significantly less, we'll use the savings to take a trip to Disneyland later that summer to get our Disney fix. Oh heck, who am I kidding? We'll go to Disneyland regardless. :lmao:

Yeah, the $2400 deposit was a killer. I just closed my eyes and hit Book and was very thankful that we are blessed enough to be able to afford it. :worship:

While checking on the status of our reservation (still GTY - no room assignment as yet :sad2:), I decided to browse the prices for the WB Panama Canal cruise in Jan of 2011... and promptly scared the crap out of myself! Ouch!!

The 4 of us in a Cat 6 (or whatever they are called now).... just over 12k bucks!!! :scared1:

And of course, DW has said she would LOVE to do the PC cruise... well dear, time to un-retire... or start buying lottery tickets.

On a more positive note... 6 weeks from tomorrow we fly to sunny Florida. :woohoo:

Have a great week, all!

John

We're definitely rebooking to get the 10% and OBC when we sail in November. We have next year's 11-day Med. cruise that we book on Day 1 that hasn't gone up in price at all, so we should be saving on that one as well... We've never been to Alaska and somene says Glacier Bay is a must for first timers? This is our 3rd DCL and we've never tried any other cruise line, but we may brave it for Alaska if there's something cheaper AND better ports.

I've also heard that Glacier Bay is a must see. But since we live in Seattle, I suspect that we'll do more than 1 Alaska cruise. We'll just have to see how things looks when the other lines release their 2011 itineraries and prices.

We did an Alaskan cruise on Princess (Island) in 2003, Vancouver to Whittier and it was awesome. If I ever go again, I will do another few days in Alaska as there was much we missed by coming home earlier.

Yup, I requested a quote from DU and 4 of us in a Cat 6 was 13K - ugghh and the deposit was going to be $2400. Nope, sorry, too rich for my blood and I would have LOVED to do this one just like your DW. Lotto 649 baby!!!

Ah well, a girl can dream......

WOO HOO!!!!! We just got pixie dusted!! :cool1::cool1::woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay:

I just checked the status of our ressie to see if we had a room assignment yet (we were Cat 6 GTY), and there is a room number, 8502, which is a Cat 4 on deck 8, all the way forward on the starboard side, just aft of the bridge.

Happy dance...:dance3::dancer::dance3:
