I can't tell whether or not there is a fuel surcharge on our reservation. I'm looking at the confirmation and there is a line that says Government Taxes and Fees $237.08, but there is no separate line for fuel surcharge. Does this sound to you like it contains a fuel surcharge?

It doesn't sound like it. I'm looking at my old confirmation printout from DCL and there is a separate line above government taxes and fees that says fuel supplement.

While we can't take advantage of free dining (we're just flying in Friday to go to MVMCP), we were lucky enough to find an airline Employee rate released for the cruise!:banana::banana:

I thought I'd share my "homework" from a class at work yesterday. We had to write a 50-word essay about anything we want. The only catch is that we could only use 1-syllable words!

I love to cruise! As the ship glides to new ports, the joy of waves and wind sings to my heart. At night the stars shine on the sea while songs float through the air. Friends relax, sip drinks and share tales of the day. I must wait three long months to smile at sea once more.

That is great! One syllable would be tough to think through but I just did but for the syllable word. I can not wait to go!

You know all those lists you have, packing, things to do before I leave, things to do after we arrive, yada yada yada. I have something for that 'things to do before we leave' list. Call your credit card company and tell them where you are going and that if they see charges to now worry as it is you. On our very first cruise we made a purchase in St. Maartin and while that trx was OK, we couldn't use the card on the ship anymore as the credit card company had turned it off. Good thing we had a different card with us or, well, I just don't know what.

Just thought I would share - there is a post over on the main board which reminded me.

It's a GREAT Day!!!

Yesterday I paid the cruise off.

I found out we were switched to Early Dinning.

Today was my daughter's 10th Birthday, and we finally told the kids that we are going!!!!

:bday::cake: to your DD. Please share what happened when you told them. I'd love to hear! We're keeping the cruise a secret from our DD's until we drive up to the pier.

Yippee, yahoo and happy birthday!!!

I don't think there is any way I could have kept it a secret from my kids - I'm having a hard enough time keeping my mouth shut about some of the little treats I have in store.....:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yes, please share how you told them and their reaction. I couldn't keep a cruise a secret - from anyone. Town can hear the squeal of delight after I hang up from booking - and the smile can't be wiped off my face for weeks thereafter. And yes, I have that grin on now as I type.

Do you think this will be our 3D movie on board??

from the rumor board:

Trailer for "Toy Story" 3-D Re-Release

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From WorstPreviews.com:

Disney has previously announce that it will convert "Toy Story" and "Toy Story 2" to 3-D in order to re-release the films in theaters. This will provide some buzz for the third film, which will be in 3-D as well.

Today, we have a teaser trailer for the first two dimensionalized films, featuring Woody and Buzz Lightyear having a little fun with the different dimensions. Check it out below.

"Toy Story" and "Toy Story 2" will be a double-feature for two weeks starting on October 2nd. "Toy Story 3" will then hit theaters on June 18th, 2010.

I think the only reason we've been able to keep the cruise a secret is that they know about the Disneyworld portion of it. Plus, we're doing a Med cruise in 2010 with RCL, so if they hear us discussing anything cruise related, they think it's about the cruise next summer. After this, they will truly have an appreciation of how sneaky their parents are. Mwa ha ha!:tiptoe::teleport:

you know my DH and I have been trying to figure that out too! will it be Toy Story or ... I heard Beauty and the Beast 3d but i think that's for 2010.

You know I feel so overwhelmed. Which Excursions? What Palo times? What FE's to do? What SC gifts to do? What to wear for Pirate night? pirate: What Door Decorations? What extra gear (beyond standard WDW stuff) do I need to get? What kind of autograph thing should we do? Sigh, I know we have more than 3 months.

But hey, we only have 3 months left!! Yeah! :cool1: :cool1:

Take a deep breath:) I know the feeling, because I have my 3 kids to worry about as well. I know I'm not any excursions, Palos I know we try not to do it on formal or pirate night and not too late because of all the food, brunch not to conflict with character breakfast, i book spa stuff around Palo's, Pirate gear I'm making t shirts this year, door decorations-I have way too may things saved right now. Thank goodness I have 2 doors. FE's I have an idea, but haven't put it all together yet. Autograph stuff-On our last cruise in October I made autograph books for each of my boys and gave them to guest services along with some sharpies to send around for us. Believe-3 months is not very long, especially with school starting 8/25. My boys tell me they want me to make them a different shirt for each day. I still have to decide on an embarkation day shirt. Extra gear:I just need my Bacardi LIT that is already premixed in the bottle. Some of that in my coconut cup lounging in a hammock at Castaway.:rotfl: My thing is:extra sunscreen (we ran out-those spray ones go so quickly), extra batteries, insect repellent. I actually got bit on castaway last time, and that was a first. For my boys I got to Dollar tree and get beach toys there and just toss them after castaway, plus I'll have more room in my suitcase. If I think of anything else I'll let you know.

I hear you! Thank goodness, though. I have something to "contmplate/decide/work" on each week. I've almost finished my FE gifts. We have finally decided on the theme/design for our FE and this paycheck I WILL apply for my passport. I don't want to fool around with ordering that passport and end up being down to the wire on receiving it!:rolleyes1 We found a great rental car rate from MCO to Port Canaveral, but the rate to return to the airport is still very high. We are leaning toward getting a town car to take us. It's about $100, not that much more than the car rental and they will pick us up at the dock. Next paycheck will purchase our tickets to Mickey's Christmas Party (can't remember all the initials ). We are also weighing the advantages of the wine package. We are thinking it makes sense for us but are still undecided.

It is raining very hard here in Dallas today, but I'm thinking of a beach far away, in the sun...

I'm having a problem finding where to go to make reservations for palo, ect.
Since I got the REAS for our Anniversary, we get to book 8/1. But what website do I need to go to?? :confused3

OK you're making me look bad:rotfl: I'm lucky I live only 2 1/2 hrs from the port. We'll leave around 7:00 am and head over. I love the Mickey Christmas party as we as MNSSHP. We didn't do Xmas one this past year but did do MNSSHP. 2years ago 2 of my boys (one has a birthday in October and another 12/31) opted out of a birthday party and we did the parties instead. My youngest's birthday is 4/8 which is around our spring break time, and we go to the time share near Disney then.
This trip is all about Mommy:yay::yay:It'll be my birthday on the 20th. In reality we booked this schedule because of the double dip. The boys will be missing 2 weeks of school. My oldest will be in 4th grade. I'm hoping he'll be ok. They're school is out Thanksgiving week. I looked into booking that week, but couldn't justify the price difference ($1000 difference per cabin)

As far as wine, I guess I'm lucky we're pretty much local. I pack a few bottles to take on board and we bring our own corkscrew. We all know there's a premium on the wines onboard, but my favorite is around $37.50 a bottle onboard and found it back home for $18.99. With you coming from Texas, that is tougher. We do enjoy our nightly glass of wine/champagne.

You would do it via disney cruise line website. Retrieve your reservation. using your reservation number. From there I believe there is a tab that says My Cruise Plans. Within that tab you can book excursions, Palo, Spa, etc. Right now you can't access those tabs because you're still too far out.

Just log into your cruise and click on the "My Cruise Plans" tab. Then click on "Reserve activities." The system is really user friendly.

What excursions did you decide on? We are doing Nachi Cocom in Cozumel and probably the Dolphin Encounter and Turtle Farm in Grand Cayman. Our sons are the same age.

We were going to do our cruise logo for our embarkation day shirt. I've ordered another set from Vista Print. I need to plan 2 more sets. The kids and my DH love them, so I guess why not.

As for FE's ladies, I know what I want to make, and I need to order the supplies, but how many are you planning for individuals and by family? 130 total individuals & 30 families?

I was planning to do it individually only, using the spreadsheet data. That's why I'm going to wait until September to order. I figure we'll have more families joining this thread between now and then and I want to have a more accurate count.
