As for FE's ladies, I know what I want to make, and I need to order the supplies, but how many are you planning for individuals and by family? 130 total individuals & 30 families?

-Virginia

MsTxMom's DD here! We're kind of planning on 30-40 cabins (our FE gifts are more family related, than individual). Currently, we're prepared for up to 60, though, and at the rate we've been having new families join in the fun - they may be needed! :rotfl:

This trip is all about Mommy:yay::yay:It'll be my birthday on the 20th. In reality we booked this schedule because of the double dip. The boys will be missing 2 weeks of school. My oldest will be in 4th grade. I'm hoping he'll be ok. They're school is out Thanksgiving week. I looked into booking that week, but couldn't justify the price difference ($1000 difference per cabin)

We have so much in common! My birthday is on the 14th! but like you said we booked it more for the double dip. And we're also taking the kids out for 2 weeks, this week and the next (which only has 3 days... right?) . My DS is entering 3rd next week and my baby is entering kindergarden. I don't know what the school is going to say though. :confused3

My birthday is the 11th as well as our anniversary! Lots of celebrating this cruise. party:

As far as taking your kids out of school, don't worry about it. We're taking our kids out for 3 1/2 weeks. :scared1: They will be in 5th and 3rd grade. I talked to their teachers last year about it and they were very supportive. Both my girls are good students and November tends to be rather a light month for school anyway, what with Veterans Day and Thanksgiving holidays, plus our school has lots of half-days for end of quarter and parent/teacher conferences. I'm planning on talking to their teachers right at the beginning of school to let them know our schedule and to start planning with them in advance about assignments, etc. :teacher: I'm going to have the girls keep a journal during the trip. Plus, they each have their own digital camera. So, I envision them doing some sort of trip report with pictures for school. I also strongly suspect that they will be doing a lot of make-up work over Christmas break. C'est la vie!

So I've seen the names of a few folks on other threads who will be along with us, and was wondering if they have signed in with our group yet. Only the last update was FOREVER ago! With the ONE hundred day mark fast approaching, and our numbers growing each week, I'm having a real hard time keeping up with the competition. I've done extensive research on most of ya'll already, and don't want to be surprised by the sudden appearance of a ringer. All this practice will NOT be wasted, and I'm not above stuffing the ballot box because I think my chances of being voted "Most likely to close the bar (but continue to drink up on deck 9)" are still excellent.:banana::banana:

But all this research is being severely hindered by not having a complete list. (It must be heck on you FE counters also). To make matters worse, old what's her name says she is too busy to get to it! See what I have to put up with? Hyper sits at her computer EVERYDAY! She even has time for travel (Orlando, Columbia, etc.), but when I need something, or WE need something, it's always "I'll get to it later". So I think we should all chant '10 percent' at her to demand a piece of her time.:lmao:

Yeah, I know, the chanting didn't go over too good at the resorts either. Denise is at least coming up for air these days, so the end is (again) in sight. You know, she might even become more human-like soon and actually do a list refreshing.

And if you don't mind, I'd like to suggest a check in around the 30 day mark. Just stop by if only to say your plans haven't changed and your info can be confirmed.

Back to the reseach and practice, just not enough hours in the day.....

Hi all, I am a lurker here:goodvibes related to Tiggggrnc and nc-monkey. Just wanted to tell everyone that NC-monkey (Tristan) got his braces re-done today and he put red and black bands on, for Disney:thumbsup2 I think it looks pretty cool! His Mom and Aunt haven't seen him yet, I know they will like it too.

I am getting excited for ya'll. I get to enjoy this vicariously through my sibs. I won't be going until next year:sad2: but at least I'm going!:cool1: I do get to help in the planning and stuff as I help my sibs get ready for their first Disney cruise. I know that whatever they decide to do, even if it's just sitting on the boat and relaxing, they will have the best time. And if they don't... it's their own fault:rolleyes1

Counting down with you, wishing I could go, too :woohoo:

I just got off the phone with our HMO's travel nurse. We discussed what immunzations the family would need for the cruise. In addition to the normal immunizations (which we all have), she suggested Hep A because we're going to be eating off the ship in both Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Guess who is the only one in the family who hasn't had the Hep A shots? Yep, that would be me. So, I'll get one before the cruise and another one about 6 months later and then I'll have lifetime immunity. She also recommended that we bring some antibiotics and Immodium/Pepto just in case we get a case of Montezuma's Revenge.

So, just a reminder to check your immunizations and make sure that all are up to date.

I hear you! Thank goodness, though. I have something to "contmplate/decide/work" on each week. I've almost finished my FE gifts. We have finally decided on the theme/design for our FE and this paycheck I WILL apply for my passport. I don't want to fool around with ordering that passport and end up being down to the wire on receiving it!:rolleyes1 We found a great rental car rate from MCO to Port Canaveral, but the rate to return to the airport is still very high. We are leaning toward getting a town car to take us. It's about $100, not that much more than the car rental and they will pick us up at the dock. Next paycheck will purchase our tickets to Mickey's Christmas Party (can't remember all the initials ). We are also weighing the advantages of the wine package. We are thinking it makes sense for us but are still undecided.

It is raining very hard here in Dallas today, but I'm thinking of a beach far away, in the sun...

-vicki
It just started here in N.C. Ruralhall and I can't wait for the sun and beach. Stay dry, seeyou in a few months.

TIGGGGRNC here I haven't had a shot for along time. Does that mean I have to go find a doctor to get one? Boy i hope not. My health has been great never get a cold but once in a great blue moon, just had the flu shot for the second time sense I've been in NC,haven't been sick from that like everyone said i would. well if i get  it will be a doooozy. But to play it safe i will call my mom's dr. tomorrow and see if i need a shot. thanks. a late entry this is going to be a big party on this cruise with all the b-day's and anniv: My b-day is the 21 and tristan's is the 13 boy are we going to have fun.

Thanks for the info. Thank goodness we all have the Hep A shot and booster. We got them back in 2005 when we travelled to China. We also bring along Pepcid AC with the Immodium /Pepto, can't be too safe.

I am excited to tell you my sister and brother-in-law and their family are coming, too!! Now, we have 11 cabins with our group. Right now, I am planning on about 40 FE gifts. They are sort of family gifts. One for each cabin. And, something for the kids, however many we have. Those, I am getting at the Dollar Store.
I have my plans written down and am crossing things off. It will be here before I know it!!

I've been thinking (quick, run away and hide!). My schedule between now and the cruise is pretty reasonable. If Denise is really slammed with work, I'd be happy to take a few cruise things off her plate. Specifically, I'd could approve website access and handle the spreadsheet info. Why don't you (or Denise) PM me and we can work out the details.

We were going to do our cruise logo for our embarkation day shirt. I've ordered another set from Vista Print. I need to plan 2 more sets. The kids and my DH love them, so I guess why not.

I'm doing mine for the family. It looks like the list is growing. I was going to do one thing that was time consuming. I may have to come up with a plan B. I don't have access the website yet. I know Denise has been very busy. Is the cruise logo on the website as well?

At our school they are off the whole week of Thanksgiving. The made Monday and Tuesday some staff training day/workshop. My oldest is going into 4th, my middle into 2nd, and my baby into kindergarten. I have all boys.

That's true about November being a light month. We usually take our cruises in Oct. I plan on telling their teachers during the 1st week and trying to get their homework ahead of time. Last year my oldest had an oral presentation during the week we were gone The teacher was nice enough to let him do it after he returned. I didn't have time to help with a poster board and a report before the cruise. I usually make them take their reading logs with them on the cruise. They have to read everyday for at least 20 mins. They go to a fundamental school which has a focus on reading and writing.
It looks like several of us with birthdays. Where are we meeting up for birthday drinks?:)

Anywhere and everywhere. :lmao:

Yes, the logo is on the website. I'm going to try to help out Denise and take that over plus the spreadsheet. I'm just waiting to hear back from them.

Yippee, yahoo and happy birthday!!!

I don't think there is any way I could have kept it a secret from my kids - I'm having a hard enough time keeping my mouth shut about some of the little treats I have in store.....:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Tell me about the treats!!!!!! I love hearing everyones plans...I'll tell you mine if you want to know...:surfweb:;):cheer2::yay:

Good call...I'm the obsessed one about shots in my house. Everyone is always up to date! Hadn't thought about eating off the ship at all, but since we will be at Chanakanab all day in Cozumel and at the beach in GC, better make a plan! How do you carry antibiotics for everyone? My 4 year -old still takes the liquid. Maybe she will grow up in time for the chewables!

My girls can take pills, so we'll just bring one bottle of antibiotics. Their dose is 1 pill and DH & my dose is 2 pills.

She also mentioned, DO NOT pet dogs or cats, as they are not required to be vaccinated against rabies in these countries. Make sure you warn your kids as well.

That's what we were planning too, chanakanab in Cozumel all day. Have you been before. We were planning on doing it on our own. I didn't think about antibiotics. Can you get that without a prescription?
