11/14/09 - Special Western - 2 CC stops

Updated my ticker. Grandma decided not to come. I am disappointed but really not surprised. So it is back to the CBR for 2 nights and no Chef Mickey's. Oh well. We will still do the BBB, CRT and MVMCP.

It is sad that she decided not to come but she knows best.

We have had a power outage since around 7:00 this morning. It came back on long enough for me to make a pot of coffee and get the stove and microwave clocks reset and bingo - out again for another 3 hours. I am to shower as I don't want it to go out while I am all lathered and shampooed. I will be as blue as that little face if it happens. I guess if it stays on for over an hour I will hope the coast is clear.

I also have to go back to work tomorrow. I still have 4 hours that I need to use up before the end of day on Wednesday. I will just leave early for a few days I guess.

Hey, we had a power outage here this afternoon for a couple of hours (which is very rare for us). I was just about to make myself a cup of tea when it went off. So my resourceful DH boiled some water on the side burner of our bbq!! Luckily, it's been warm so the snow had melted off the top of it.

MaryAz, Sorry that Nana is not coming but I understand too.

We might be going to MVMCP too - DH has decided to add on a couple of extra days after the cruise so OCP (that would be me) is going to try and squeeze it in!!

We have a wind warning in effect here and lots of huge trees in our neighbour's backyards - here's hoping that they all stay upright through the night !!

I think our wind has finally died down and hopefully there was no one mixed up in any flooding. We lost a lot of snow but there is fresh stuff out there and we are to get a bit everyday through to the weekend.

Lisa - when adding your extra days, please remember that the week after we get off is our Thanksgiving week and the crowds will be high. Would you be able to add before the cruise? I really would like to do MVMCP but would need to go on the 21st as I don't think it starts for us to go on the 11/6. That means adding another day - but I am working on it - I think I still have points to use...

I think things are settling down - for now anyway. The wind has died down and the cars on the road out front seem to be moving right along. And the power has stayed on so I guess now that dinner is cooked, served and taken care of I need to hit the shower.

No problem. We have done the Wonder for Thanksgiving (they switch that week up and make it a 4 day, boarding on Wed. and getting off on Sunday) so last year the family went down on Saturday and spent that extra time in the parks. Big mistake - big crowds and it just got bigger. We used to go that week (like 8 or 10 years ago) and it was tolerable but not last year when they went - and that is from my children, not me as I was home with DH and his back issues.

We did MVSHP this year - it was a hoot and well worth the price so I am really, really considering going on the 21st, even though my preference would be the 6th, I just don't think they will be doing it that early.

Well, I am back to work today - still have 4 hours of vacation to use up between now and the 31st but even if I go home early each day, I will use it up as it is use it or loose it. Good thing we get paid for PTO time if we don't use it. There will be some extra cash for the cruise savings account.

One has to sort of move the dates but Disney is usually pretty consistent from year to year on the days of events. MVMCP dates for November 2008 were the 10th, 11th, 14th, 16th, 20th, 21st, 30th. So, if they are days of the week (which would get my vote) this year's dates would be 9th, 10th,
13th, 15th, 19th, 20th and 29th. Drat - even if I stayed, I would have to stay until the 29th and that is just not happening. Guess I will go ahead and book my airfare before I can't get out of my airport on frequent flier miles. It was nice thinking about it though.

Will anyone in the party be celebrating a birthday while you're visiting Disneyland? My birthday is actually the sunday after we go. My Dh can't take off monday's though so we are going thurs-sun. Hubby and I went a ton growing up-both from So Ca. This will be the girls 2nd trip though mini was only 5mo when we went before.

Hello everyone ,I'm sorry we haven't been on in a while. Our internet system has been down since before Christmas . We just got the help we needed ,and hope this will last. We hope there will be no more problems

Glad to see that everyone had a wonderful Christmas. My nephew, his wife and their DD came up for Christmas. So the whole family was together. We didn't do gifts for the adults. Just for nephews DD. We all had a great time watching her open the gifts. She posed with each gift so mommy could take a picture. Then she would ask for the next gift. After all the gifts were opened, she looked around and said "is that it" .Then the real fun started. She had to put on all the stuff at once. What a sight. I still didn't get my snow that I asked for.

A little bleary-eyed this morning - went to a friends' house for a party - hadn't really "celebrated" New Year's Eve since the kiddos have been born. I was putting up my new calendar this afternoon and was able to write in REALLY big letters C-R-U-I-S-E the week of November 14th - it felt totally AWESOME!!!!

Here's to a happy and healthy 2009 for all my fellow DISers!!
