Mousemom, my dad also had a kidney transplant. He received my brothers kidney. Hope your husband is doing well. The transplant changed my dad's life. The transplant was this past january.

Room for 2 more?? I just booked today with this being the second leg of a back to back trip. We have never done that before and I am SO looking forward to it. Plus, two trips to CC, how could we go wrong.

DH and I are in our 50's and travelling alone. Our children are grown (well, one is still in college), late seating and in 6311 (yeah, cat. 11 but that is how I can do a BTB).

Welcome:cheer2: !
Of course there's always room for more!! And we promise we won't bite - well, as long as you don't get between me and my Mickey Bar!!

Be sure to fill out Hypermommy's spreadsheet http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewf...L1ExjMWQ&hl=en

And a Double Dip as part of a B2B?!?!? I am SO jealous!!!!

Cheers,

Be sure to order your mickey bars from room service - they bring two, even if you are very specific at ordering time and order only one. I actually made myself sick trying to eat both. They are my dessert unless we dine at Palo on a daily basis. I dearly wish that someone could

I can't open the url though, I tried but no go.

I am SO excited to be doing B2B's - and 3 trips to CC (and no KW which does not break my heart and I apologize up front if that offends anyone), same cabin, and just 1 year and 1 day until we will be leaving. Just makes a soul all warm and fuzzy to know they have a cruise booked and I have a major "fuzz" going on with this being B2B.

I promise I will start on page one and get caught up.

Sorry about the URL address - I think it's post #401 or thereabouts- I'm sure Hypermommy will straighten me out!!

It might be just over a year away but as you will soon discover reading all these posts, we are all a little planning obsessed (in a good way of course!).

Cheers,

Welcome Gail and Hubby
I am so jealous of your BTB! That is so exciting! I am traveling with my hubby, 2 little girls-if you need a kid fix and my mom-if you want adult conversation. This is a great group! Welcome!

I can't believe how fast the time is going by. :woohoo: We have 8 days until the 1 year count down .:yay: Which will also be Tristans (nc monkey) 14 :bday:I can't wait:woohoo: I would also like to :welcome: Gail and her Hubby :thumbsup2 Everyone have a great day :wave2: (Kim)

Thanks for the welcome Kim. By the weeks - we leave a year from tomorrow for the first cruise. I am still smiling that I have managed to 1 - get David (DH) to agree and 2 - that I had enough DVC points do actuallly DO it - then I guess 3 that there was availability so that we can be in the same cabin. No unpacking for me! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I need someone to explain the banana thing to me - do we have a little one that enjoys dancing bananas?? Well, this is for her/him

This is my first post!! I am a long time lurker, but I am just too excited over this trip so I have registered so I can be a part of this fun group. My daughter, Michelle (mrp4352) has been participating and I wanted to join in. She is the computer savy one.

This is our second Disney cruise. We (DD36 and sister (S?)55+) had such a great time two years ago with CC being our favorite place in the whole world that we had to go back for the double dip.

We are lucky enough that DD works for an airline (not just any airline, Southwest Airlines!!), so once we purchase annual passes all we have to pay for is our room. And since I was sending money to Mickey every month for the room for upcoming trips, I decided I may as well be sending that money to DVC and it would be paid off in 5 years. See KC, there's the logic you need to justify that DVC!

Anyway, I'm glad to be here, we have a great group going and I can't wait!!!

Now...

Shell, how do I get a ticker???

And let's see if I can do nana's for little MaryAz...

Look at me!! I'm a disser!! Where's my lime green Mickey for my bags??

- Vicki

Anyone that has DVC questions - ask away. We own at OKW and SSR. First purchase was in 1993.

Kim Good to hear from you! Happy early bday to Tristain!!

Gail My 2 yr old DD loves the "dancing nanas" and always asks to see them when I open my laptop! As soon as "Hypa" gets the place to have pics up and running I will post one of her in her "nana" costume.

Welcome aboard Vicki!! If you click on my ticker it will take you to the website where you can make your own. SO happy you will be joining us. There is a spreadsheet that you can put your info in, Hypermommy aka missing one will hopefully post the link soon. And give us another peek.

1 year 1 week and 1 day !!!!!!!!!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:    :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

I'm very interested in DVC! But we already own 3 timeshares and only have 3vacation weeks a year from work, so we can't justify DVC. Our problem is that we've been using one week of vacation on Disney for 2 years now, making it hard to use all of our other timeshares. I guess we could sell our timeshares but we'd only get 20% of what we paid for it - if we are lucky. So DH said no way we'd even think about DVC. But how does DVC work? Is it strictly on a points system? How many points would you need for a 7-day cruise like this one?

Before I start - I absolutely LOVE DVC and I do use points to cruise sometimes, and other not. We purchased in 1993 and after taking the tour, based the original purchase amount (of points) on the type of room we would require. In 1993 - there was only one DVC location (Old Key West as it is now known) and we needed a 2 bedroom for our family of 5. The number of points required for all dates/room types (different dates and room size options) will never change, but a specific option could.

What I think is neat about points - I can bank a year and borrow a year's worth so if I wanted to have a blow-out vacation, I could use 3 years of points. Our points can be exchanged to DCL, Interval Internaltional, Beuna Vista Trading and a few other options. But, we pay maintenance just like anyone else does.

DH and I can cruise during slow times (ie - hurricane season) in category 11's using one year's worth with a few left over. But, we also now have 380 points.

Best investment we ever made - absolutely the bestest

Thanks for telling Mom about the ticker before I could get over here!! We are on the spreadsheet already - I've been taking care of the "administrative duties" for our family.

   for Mini-MaryAz!

I believe the subject was "double dip delight" or something to that effect? This is where we were to send our pictures, yes? :confused3 Don't mind me I just came off a week's worth of night shifts! LOL!:lmao:

Hmmmm... I just don't remember seeing them. Bummer. But it's okay because I'm going to be getting a site up that will allow us to post pictures and stuff more easily. I found out the other day what I was doing wrong so I should be able to get it fixed up here soon. And I'll be putting a bulletin board on there too (like the DIS but maybe a different software) so our kids can safely get to know each other. Yes, Eating Machines #1 and #2 are both teenagers now but I'm still very cautious about their online interactions. Maybe one day I'll find the strength of heart to actually let them grow up? Maybe?? I dunno... they're still my babies (despite KC's constant reminder that we don't have no more babies).

Just checking in! Guess what on Nov 14 of this year we are visiting some friends in Orlando and staying for 4 days. Friday we are doing Medieval Times, Saturday is Epcot Day, Sunday is Magic Kingdom day.<snip> What about showing him some sort of video (needed) about Disney and saying do you want to go and he says yes, and I say ok let's jump in the car! What do you think. Any creative ideas welcomed.

That sounds like a great idea!!! You could also get a postcard with the castle or something on it and write an invitation from Mickey on the back. I don't know if he knows his letters yet or not but something like this might be just the incentive it'd take to either learn letter sounds or start to learn how letters go together to make words.

Hope you don't mind the suggestion. I'm all about tricking kids into learning! LOL Actually, IMO, it's all about making learning fun. Every kid loves to learn when it's fun.

Speaking of learning and such, Eating Machine #1 just finished up his 7th grade coursework. Remember that he's homeschooled using Florida Virtual School. Well, he took his finals at the end of last week and beginning of this week and has been enjoying a few days off. He made a C, 2 Bs and an A. And this with very little trouble on his part (other than the fact that I had to stay on his back for him to actually DO the work).

Man, if I can just find the right incentive for that kid there's no telling how far he can go. I may have found something.... he's always talked about wanting to be a tank driver in the Marines. But he's been addicted lately to this fighter pilot game. So I suggested the idea of being a fighter pilot and he seems to like the idea. KC played right into it (so glad I married a smart and perceptive man!) and mentioned that he'd have to do well in school, particularly in math and science, to be a pilot. Well, EM#1 seems to be inspired by the idea right now. That and the fact that even ugly pilots get lots of girls so he's expecting he'll have "five dates every night"! LOL

Hypermommy, we have a stateroom number change. Mom's early Christmas gift to herself was an upgrade!! We're now in 6590. thanks so much for all your work on this!!

Congrats on the upgrade!!!!!! I've got it modified in the spreadsheet. And yes, I'll be posting the info again this weekend. It took about an hour to compile it the first time but that's because I was building all the queries and stuff (I took the spreadsheet and put the info in a database and then I can slice and dice the data however we want). So it shouldn't take as long this weekend. I'm just trying to slice my time because I've been working on this new kit that I need to get done soon.

Grandma will be joining us-my mom, we are very excited. We also got an upgrade! We are Cat 4 rooms 8068 and 8070. Same location of ship YEAH!! Her name is Roberta. Not sure she would want me to list her age :)

LOL... got G'ma Roberta added to the database. And tell her we're so glad to have her!!! But she'd best not steal too much of my hug time with the girls. How often do the girls get to see g'ma? If it's not often then I don't mind at all because, after all, she is grandma. But if she lives close by and gets to see the girls all the time, then she's gonna have to move aside for a few Hypa hugs!

And speaking of my girls
 :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc  :lovestruc

I can't open the url though, I tried but no go.

Hey there, hi there, ho there and welcome!!!!!!!!!!!! The more the merrier!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's the link for the spreadsheet. Let me know if you have problems with it, please. I'm the one that pretends to be organized but just hasn't had time to be getting on here. But I can see that I definitely have my priorities mixed up and need to get on here more often.

/me raises right hand
I solemnly swear that I will make every effort to get on this thread at least every other day so I'll see what's going on with all my buddies.

Best investment we ever made - absolutely the bestest

KC, you're listening, right? You're hearing this, right?

I believe the quote was 'Investing in family always brings high returns...'. I don't care how many pictures we take with him, or how much of my money he gets, but Mickey REALLY isn't related to me. (Please everybody, stop booing :rotfl2: ) And any correspondence that includes a 'due by' date can go in my 'circular file' until at least my therapy is complete. Mr. Clunky Shoes (my Dr's new nickname) said to give it a break, relax, and stay away from old big teeth for at least a year (but continue to write checks nevertheless), and then be re-evaluated. So we can re-visit this issue this time next year (even though we both know how useless that will be). I've been told that Port Canaveral is the new Orlando, maybe we should look into going there next year instead, OK? ;)

Just about everyone (with the exception of a few familys) is up for the 2pm Sat Dis Meet, the Fish Exchange (specifics later) and dressing for Pirate Nite.

glindamood suggests "How about a luncheon in Lumiere's on Tuesday or Thursday. It is so hard on that first day for folks to get to that first meet, especially as early as 2:00, some might not even be there yet." I think that idea has lots of merit. I'm up for getting together more than once!

But that's actually a great place toleave this post becuase my next post is gonna have even better new info! See ya there.

I've been told that Port Canaveral is the new Orlando, maybe we should look into going there next year instead, OK? ;)

Okay, okay... so I can't go to Mickey's house. But maybe I can get to his neighborhood. I'm thinking of a weekend trip after Thanksgiving to go hotel hopping and enjoy the decorations and go hang out at Ft. Wilderness and enjoy their fun.

Oh, I know I'm only dreaming... I know this isn't gonna happen. But sometimes I just gotta wish, even if there's no star nearby to be wishin' upon.

As for your therapy... well, darlin' you can get therapized all you want about Mickey but you know there's still me to deal with and no doc in the world can help you with that! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
