Hello all! Just booked this as our 3rd Disney Cruise and am very excited! We got the military special so although we booked pretty late we still got a good deal!
Anyway I will be traveling with myself, DH, DS3 and DD12. I was wondering if any of you have a DD aged 10-13 who might be interested in chatting with my DD before hand so she has a ready made friend on th ship?

Also I've only ever sailed in May and I was curious what you all think of our chances with the weather. I'm a littel nervous about hurricane season. Plus we are currently stationed in England and are going to be in desperate need of some sunshine. 2 days at CC! I can't wait! :yay:

Welcome!!!!!! Always happy to have more families join us! I have sailed three times before, once in, January (Princess), February (Disney) and once in November (Disney). November was perfect for CC on our last cruise. Nice and toasty! However Orlando was a bit chilly in the evening in November. We should be good as long as the hurricane season isn't extended.

I think our spreadsheet with kid ages needs a major update. Denise is busy with work but mousemom11 is helping out I think.:littleangel:

We are getting bigger by the day. Have we decided on a cut off date for FE participation? I thought I was done, but I better make a bigger cushion for error!!!

I bought our girls an additional bathing suit on clearance. They are leaving the stores in our area and being replaced with winter wear. Crazy since we really don't have winter here!

Becky,
One of my granddaughters is 11, almost 12. I will check with her mom. I'm sure she would love to get to know your daughter early. This trip is a big family vacation.:cool1:

Let me know if her mom approves and Makaylee would love to chat with her and meet on saturday.

No cut-off established yet, but I am thinking that September 30th is a good date. For those of us who are ordering them, that would give enough lead time for ordering, shipping, and assembly.

I'm in a quandry about what to do about my clothes for the trip. I am slowly, but steadily losing weight. All my capris are getting big on me now, and I'm not sure what size I'll be on the trip. But, who carries summer clothes in October? I'm hoping that Lands End may have some. I'm also thinking about heading out to Penney's tomorrow and buying a few that are 1 size smaller.

I hear ya on the clothes issue. I hope to have lost a few pounds before the cruise. I did just buy a pair of capris at Costco and shorts at Gap. Both a really good price. I have to find something for formal night now...not sure what to do?

I agree with September 30th for the cut off date. We have a crazy month in October. My son is leaving on a mission for our church for 2 years in October. I hope to have our cruise stuff done by then...

:welcome: Mamie and family. First, thanks to your entire family for your military involvement and support. And the same goes to anyone else with us that I didn't say it directly to - you keep us free.

FE cutoff - I am all for establishing a cutoff and even willing to go through the first week in October but my vote will be whatever is decided (or I will make my own date). We will continue to grow rapidly I would expect, especially with all the discounts being added.

And way to go on the weight loss! And isn't it funny about winter clothes out already. I will be heading to Ohio the middle of August and I hope that there are still some summer items left on the sale racks. Lands End and LL Bean are also good sources. Are you a QVC shopper - they generally have items as well, especially on clearance.

We are cruising with our DD7. She is an only child so we would love to help her make a few new friends before the cruise starts. Particularly kids who can help her get excited about the kids club activities. Does anyone have a DS or DD around age 7? We want her to branch out on her own a bit (so we can have a little time to ourselves and so she can learn to depend on herself a bit.) We would love to trade PMs with any family so inclined.

OMG there are GOBS of 8 yo girls on this cruise from the DIS. It appears that they will be taking over the ship. :scared1:

I have a DD 8, but because of the surprise, can't have her chat ahead of time. But there are lots of others, so hopefully you will get a response.

Hello all - We are booked on this cruise but we've never done the DCL thingy. We are really quite excited to join in the fun. It will be me, DW and DD (7). How do we join all of the fun?

DD will love the FE, if i understand it right. Please point me in the right direction.

Look forward to meeting everyone.

:welcome: sransdell and family! You are in for the ride of your lives - well in my humble opinion anyway. Our children are all grown so DH and I are on this by ourselves. This will be our 11th (or it will be after the week before this one I think) cruise with DCL so ask away. There is lots of experience here in this thread as well. I don't like telling folks to read but a great place for info is the sticky over on the main cruise board (I can't even finish a sentence without contradicting myself) - alphabetized list and everything. All of this can be a bit overwhelming and that does give concise info.

My daughter is 8 and would love to meet another girl. There are a bunch on this trip and I am confident they will have a blast together. Sarah is looking forward to all the activities in the clubs with other girls her age. She is also looking forward to swimming, ordering room service, Tea with Wendy and going to the movies non-stop!

We are doing the dolphin encounter on Cozumel with some others on board. I booked through Dolphin Discovery. If you want the girls to chat sometime, pm so I can have Sarah go on my email. I think that's the easiest way...let me know.

You are right it can be overwhelming. Up to now I have been reading the guide books and I thought I had things under control, but since beginning to read these boards, I'm amazed at the things I didn't know about. I'm hot on the idea of an autographed pillowcase and I'm psyched that my DD-Lauren may get the chance to meet some new friends to pal around with in the Oceaneer club. As soon as I post my required 10 messages, I will be ready to get in contact with the keeper of the spreadsheet to add our details.

That is a great surprise. And I wouldn't ruin it for the world. So, I guess we will have to wait until we introduce the girls on the ship.

See you there! I can't wait.

Excellent! I would like to have my Lauren and your Sarah exchange some email messages before we all go aboard. Tonight my Lo-Lo and her mom are out of town visiting her Nana (Mom'd at her class reunion). I'll be in touch soon to set something up.

Sounds good to me...:surfweb:

I here you! The new clothes I got for the cruice are starting to slip, and I'm thinking of getting some more. I'm trying to figure out how many shoes to take with the outfit's. and what gown to take for formal night. kim and I are starting to get back in the grooove for the cruise. We have a big suit case just for FE's. I wish it would come on can't wait, but when we get there the time will go by so fast..

We also have a DD who is an only child and will turn 7 during the cruise. She'd be happy to "chat" with your DD. On our last cruise, it was MUCH more enjoyable for everyone after she's made a friend. She wasn't crazy about any of the club activities until she has a friend to go with her. So yes, I'm all for pairing them up!

Got my Palo reservations! Dinner for 2 and a brunch for 4 (my room is linked with my BILs) but only we have the REAS so I was surprised that I could book it for the 4 of us.

I will also be travelling with 2 more 9 y.o. girls so feel free to PM me as well - my daughter and niece would also like to connect with some new friends. If anyone has a 4 y.o. girl, I have one of those too......

I vote for Sept. 30th as the cutoff date for the FE. I plan to ship my box from Canada so would like a little extra time....

SandiegoSusie: You asked about the treats I had in mind....Well my mom is sewing up some tote bags that I plan to fill up with sand toys and they'll be waiting in the staterooms. I'll go down early - leaving the husbands with the girls at the pool. Well, that's the plan anyways. I also picked up some great bath stuff on clearance at our Disney store (that has now closed :sad2:) that Tinkerbell will be leaving in the bathroom for the girls.

It's starting to come together!!!!

Yippee,
Lisa

:banana: We leave in about 3 months for WDW!!! We booked the cruise and started planning the trip 18 months out. Hard to believe that we're almost there.

15 weeks and it will be our turn to board the Magic. I so want to go and I so don't want it to be Nov, 21st.... Someday I will figure out how to make one date hurry and the following to take forever.
