Hi Hypermommy! I haven't used this company before, but they were recommended by someone on a different group that I read. It might be worth looking into for the shirts...

I was reading the "notes to self" that I had written after our last cruise and thought this might be fun for all to chime in on. How about if we post "things we wish we had done or things we learned for our next cruise" ideas?

Great idea!!!! Thanks for taking this on!!! I think we're all gonna benefit from this type of list. Tres cool!

I will definitely give them a try... I got the final answer from Cafe Press and it's a no go. If customink doesn't work I'll try to find somewhere else and if that doesn't work then I'll see what they would cost to have them produced here and I can just bring them to the port.

Hey, at least that'd be a way to make sure I get to meet everyone face to face, huh? :rotfl2:

So here's what CP said:
Unfortunately, we will be unable to restore your image, which is in Pending Status at this time. Your use of the strong likeness to that of the likeness of Mickey Mouse is problematic as it may infringe on the copyright of the owner of the property.

A Copyright is a form of protection provided to the authors of "original works of authorship" including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic, and certain other intellectual works, both published and unpublished.

As you may know there are two distinct Intellectual Property Rights (copyrights) in the artwork that you create. The first Intellectual Property Right belongs to the party who created the artwork or design. The second Intellectual Property Right belongs to the individual or business that owns the rights to the content being depicted in the artwork.

For example, if you create a design that looks similar to Mickey Mouse, even if you own the rights to the artwork or drawing, you may not own the rights to utilize the likeness of Mickey Mouse. Therefore the use of Mickey Mouse for sale of merchandise in this example may infringe on the rights of Disney.

Similarly, your use of the likeness of the Mickey Mouse may infringe on the rights of the individual or organization that holds the Intellectual Property rights to the content.

With this said, if you have any specific information or rights to use the designs that are currently set to pending status in your account, please let us know. Otherwise, we cannot allow the sale of your content through the CafePress.com service.

I guess I can understand where they're coming from. Disney does have a bit of a reputation for suing from what I've heard.

I checked out customink cursorily and found what I was hoping not to...

There is a 6 piece minimum for screenprinted t-shirts.
Most embroidered items have a 12 piece minimum.
We offer the lowest minimums on the Web across the entire product selection.

I've got some stuff I've got to get done tonight and tomorrow morning but I'll get back to researching the web to see if we can find a place like CP that would do single prints or small runs. But if anyone else gets a chance to be looking, please feel free.

We'll conquer this somehow! Ain't nobody... noBODY... gonna keep a Double Dipper down, right?

I'll bump this up for you all--but I have a quick question (probably many more if we book this trip!).

Why does the ship leave CC at 2:30pm on it's first stop? The next day is at sea so it would seem there is plenty of time to get to Grand Caymen. I am new to cruising so bare with me!

I'm not sure either...The Double Dip Navigators that I found from 10/28/08 showed the ship leaving CC at 5:30 on it's first stop so I don't know why.....

Hopefully, some of our more experienced cruisers can fill us in (I only have one under my belt).

Cheers,

I thought that the double dips always left in the middle of the afternoon on the first stop but I went out to Barb's site and can see antyhing from 3:00 to 5:00 posted so I have no idea. Knowing that I will be back in a few days makes it a bit easier to get back onboard that early.

Yup, that's where I checked too...and I guess you're right - we'll be there again at the end of the week and after the first stop we won't be rushing back to pack....:thumbsup2

Cheers,

Maybe it will change. I sure hope so. We are early risers but I could see some waking up late, eating breakfast then only having an hour or two on CC before having to head back.

Another rookie question, when it says 2:30pm on the itinerary, does that mean the ship pulls out then or you need to be back on the ship by then?

I really hope I can get on this cruise! It sounds like so much fun!

2:30 is the time we need to be aboard. And yes, we hope you can join us - we're a fun group :cool1: :cool1: !!

Ok, everyone - here's your laugh for the day. I usually check out the DIS boards every day just to see if there's anything interesting (besides our thread of course!) and the past couple of weeks there seems to have been alot of "negative" talk (for lack of a better word - I prefer to call it b&c) about everything from age restrictions to bad servers to tipping, etc. You know - all the "hot" topics. Everyone is entitled to their opinions but people, give it a rest.... Anyways, back to me...

So, last night after a VERY long day (it's March break here), I finally drag my sorry butt to bed and guess what I dream about... That's right, the cruise. It was Friday morning, our second stop at Castaway Cay and there's a note from Brent (who BTW we did not have last time, we had Christiaan) in our Fish Extender asking us to call him. I quickly call and we are asked to come to the Bridge where the Captain wants to speak to us..:confused3 :confused3

Did we do something wrong?? Have there been complaints of a crazy mom screaming at her kids :rolleyes1 ? Do we have poor table manners?? Are we banished from DCL for poor fashion taste?? No, in fact, quite the opposite - the captain informs us that they've been watching us all week and think that we make the Perfect Cruise Family and that we've been given a free lifetime pass on DCL to use whenever and as often as we like.:cloud9: :cloud9:

I'm waiting for Howie Mandel or Ashton Kutcher to come out at any minute to tell me I've been punk'd but instead, my DD3 comes in and wakes me up....

Where do I sign up for this contest and how can I rig it so I can win?!?!?

Have a great day everyone!!

I wouldn't take the daily leave times as gospel.

We've been on two DCL cruises, and the times listed for our cruise were never the times we ended up leaving. It always ended up being much later.

I'd just wait until you're on the boat and hope for a later time!

:sad1: Need a little moral support... this morning, our 12-yr old Golden Retriever struggled to make it to the backyard and collapsed on her hind legs there. Our vet thinks she suffered a mini stroke. She is on IV being fed fluids, anti-inflammatory and antibotics and on observation at least overnight. The vet thinks she should recover...

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: I am so sorry to hear that. After 12 years, she is an important member of your family. I hope that she recovers soon. Prayers for your family during this tough time.

Ahh, poor thing. They want nothing but love and I'm sure you and your family will give her lots   .

Hi all,

Just popping in to let you know that I tried one more argument with Cafe Press and they sent me a curt (but polite) "sorry, but we're not going to be able to host this design at this time". So that's that. I haven't had time to look for anything else. Of course, if push comes to shove then I could resize the design so it'd fit on regular t-shirt transfer paper. But let me look to see what else I can find online first. I hope to have time to do some of that this weekend.

I really hope I can get on this cruise! It sounds like so much fun!

We hope you can to!!!! :cool1:  As soon as you know for sure, please PM me with your email addy so I can 1) get you set up to share the spreadsheet hosted on Google (full of info about who's in what rooms, who's doing fish extender, etc) and 2) get you access to the private board and gallery so we can see what you look like and you can run screaming in terror after viewing pictures of me.

we make the Perfect Cruise Family and that we've been given a free lifetime pass on DCL to use whenever and as often as we like.

If you find where to sign up for the contest you're adopting me, right? I promise I'll be a good girl........ well, as good as I can. It is me, remember. :rotfl2:

What a great dream! ha ha
Don't you love the timing of a 3 year old?:lmao:

Hugs and prayers to Connie and her family.:grouphug::grouphug:

Well, its almost time to get them out.:love:

What? What you say? I will tell you.

My dear sister, Eve, understands my obsession with Disney and the anticipation inherent in an upcoming trip. So a couple of years ago she made me a month's worth of COUNTDOWN PANTIES!!!!:rotfl:

And, since I will be enjoying a long weekend at WDW in 31 days. That means that tomorrow I get to start wearing my COUNTDOWN PANTIES!!:yay:

There are two reasons I won't post a picture:

1. Someone may be eating while reading this.
2. I don't have a wide-angle lens.

Sister bought thirty pair of white cotton panties and each is numbered 1 to 30and has a different character on it! She ironed them on. I absolutely love them. So much so that I have made 2 week countdown panties for my sister, daughter, daughter-in-law, son (yes, whitey tighties for him), and both potty trained grandaughters. Every morning prior to a trip starts with "who are you wearing today?" The hard part was making sure everyone in the family had someone different each day! Also, granddaughter #3 will be ready for her first set for our June trip, she's almost there!

I will be happy to share the numbered characters to be printed on transfer paper, just pm me.

I also want to comment on things we would do differently this cruise.

Even though we are three adults, the surfaces of our cabin just stayed cluttered all the time. Dear daughter Michelle read on the disboards about hanging an over-the-door shoe holder in the room. It keeps everything off the table tops. Suntan lotion, camera, book, bathroom necessities, etc. We bought one and tried it out on our last visit to Saratoga Springs and it works great! We each had two rows and everything was in the same place all the time. And the table and counter tops stay uncluttered. Aren't the disboards awesome?

Welcome Blake, I hope you join us. We are a fun group!

I don't post often, but when I do, you can't shut me up!!

Have a good week all.

-Vicki
