Homemade applesauce sounds yummy!

DD8 is home "sick", sore throat and headache. School said over 40 kids were out with swine like symptoms. YIKES! As panic mode sets in I am scouring the house with Lysol! And if time permits, packing the ziplocs with FE's!

Thanks Gail for the list. I too, made labels with names and ages of kids so I know which pile to pull from for the gifts. My dining room has been set up at FE assembly line.

I am fine with mailing a box to the ship, think that will go fine...worried about sending the Tinkerbell baskets ahead to the resort...opinions

Hope your daughter feels better soon!

umm. It was at the resort that my friends box turned up nearly empty. You can't send them to the ship? Or, you're already sending one?

Since I'm already sending a box FULL of FE stuff, I won't have room. Thought I would give them the Tinkerbell basket at POFQ before we sail. Do you mind me asking what resort your friend was at, and how long ago it happened? I am thinking the baskets even though they are wrapped in a celophane bag will get all messed up in the suitcase. However, I may just go that route...:surfweb:

Good Morning! Day shift, Checking in :)

Sandie, it was Coronado Springs and it was August this year - precruise. She had her fe gifts, prizes for her meets and a gift bag for her daughter as well as some toiletries (she only travels with carryons). When she got the box, it had been resealed and contained only the toiletries. There was no indication whether it had been opened during shipping or at the resort, it wasn't damaged in any way. I HOPE it was an isolated incident!

30F, and deep dark, still, but it's time to get ready for the gym. Sure wish the scale would move down.

Happy Day, all!

The sun is beginning to come up here, thanks for sending it on to MI!. I don't drive home in the dark but his driving to work in the pitch black is about enough. But, the time changes soon so that end of my drive will improve. Just freaks me about about all the deer here - and the fact that they can't look before crossing.

Shipping to the resort - depending on how I do with my FE's - I am thinking about it. How did your friend send the package - UPS or FedEx or just USPS? And could be you responded to that before and I am just forgetful.

UPS. WHICH I thought they were pretty reliable, but that kinda freaked me out - because when I fly, I send box ahead of time.

Back from the gym. Scale didn't move, but at least it's hovering at the lower end of it's most recent drop. Patience is a virtue. Patience is a virtue. I WANT IT NOW!

30 DAYS, people, 30 days!!:cool1:
Has it really been 18 months since I booked?
18 months ago..seemed like forever to get everything done and now...I don't even have luggage.:confused3

OK - I said I would share so one of you asked me. We got our documents today for the 11/07 cruise - and since I am several days behind some of our fellow St Croix cruisers, could be some of you will beging seeing them Friday or Monday. We shall see. I do think this is earlier than the last time I recieved them. We are on DVC points so that plays into the mix somehow to - I just have no idea how.

Yep - I am going on a cruise next month. ME tags are here and now this. Guess I don't even need my luggage tags for this trip - just not thought of that, we are not changing cabins.

Is it possible that UPS may have damaged the original box and repackaged the contents(or what they may claim was salvageable) and sent them on their way? The reason I ask is because we have had this problem at work several times in the past year. Sometimes they sent the damaged goods back to us and other times they claimed there was nothing left to send back. The funny thing is that this only happened when we sent items to one specific area and it was the same UPS distribution hub that damaged the boxes every time. Send the same boxes anywhere else in the US and it was no problem.:confused3

Obviously, the UPS gorillas in that hub are particularly well-paid and enthusiastic about their jobs.

No kidding! Our UPS driver just shakes his head whenever we get something back from there. Our Fed Ex driver on the other hand gets a good laugh out of it.

I just copied from the spreadsheet - DIS names and cabin numbers, typed them into Excel, sorted by deck and then did it the way it was most logical for me to walk. I would happily share with anyone if you want. It may take some tweaking on your part depending if you are forward, midship or aft (we are forward) but just let me know and I will happily email it to you.

I would love a copy of your spreadsheet, please! sransdell at verizon dot net

Thank you very much!

Which is exactly why I switched my company from shipping with UPS to FedEx. I got really tired of the gorillas smashing up my stuff.

Quick question about FE gifts. Do you put who they are from? Ours are individually packaged and we may end up putting them in bags according to the number of occupants in each cabin. Labeling who they are from would work in this instance but not so well if we don't bag them together.

Can only speak for myself - I do not bag nor label nor do individual gifts per person. One per cabin, right in the pocket.

On the other hand, the person who gave us the "q-tip-safety pin - zip tie - bandaid - coughdrop - paperclip" gift last year had to bag or people would have thought it was litter, lol. (ended up being a very useful gift)

I don't want to talk about UPS destroying stuff - I Like my ups man - but a couple years ago, before we retired and I got acquainted with him, I bought one of those expensive Penzo pottery cookie jars from Animal Kingdom Lodge and had them ship it. If you've ever had anything shipped from there you know their packaging is amazing. Anyway, it didn't come and it didn't come. So I called and the lady at Disney gave me the tracking number and I tracked it right up to "out for delivery" and then it mysteriously disappeared. It had gone "out for delivery" and been destroyed, but nobody bothered to call ME! or Disney either, apparently, because they didn't know anything about it. They had to wait for UPS to tell them before they could refund my money $$$ and it took MONTHS to get resolution.

In the case of Belle's missing items - it was her box, the items were just 'gone'.

Help!! Do I need to fill out customs forms?!???

Just starting to explore the cost of shipping 2 boxes (2 staterooms) and the more time I give them, the cheaper but do I have to fill out customs forms since it's not going to a residence??

Anyone??

Thanks for the help,
Lisa

As a UPS employee, I must answer your defamation of character. Gorillas are we!!!Well, you all have been blacklisted or brownlisted as we might say.:laughing:

Don't expect those xmas gifts to arrive on time or at all:rotfl2:

Next time use the USPS and see what you get:rolleyes1

Now, I know what to put in the FE's:idea:

Before I get in more trouble with Irish Belle, I must tell you.

JOKE, you know I am a SAHD:lmao:
