Hey there, just checking in. Most of the boxes have been packed and we are mostly waiting until we get a 24 foot truck on Wed to move it all. I'll come back Thurs for another load, then turn the truck in Fri. Oh how I wish I was where some of you are, ALREADY ON VACATION! Soon enough though, just a few more things to do...

And I hate to be such a bummer, but some planning is needed for 'what will I be doing TWO weeks from now'. Last time it took us 5 hours to drive home, and everybody was too tired from getting up early to do much more than unload the van. Sunday wasn't much better, as a few loads of laundry got done, but thats about it. The real shocker was we actually had to cook and serve our own food! Don't plan much more than getting home and sleeping that weekend. Between trying to do everything during the week and the blues of another ended vacation, rest will be your best bet for dealing with the upcoming realities of the real world. So take it from a doctor, ah, a King, er, someone who know(?), Ok, that guy: Your vacation doesn't officially ended until you show up for work, so relax that first weekend back and you will feel better for it.

Now let's go PARTY!!!

I would love to see the castle with the Christmas icicle lights but without the kids with us...not sure if the other activities would be enjoyable.

The beauty of Disney is that it's a magical place for all ages, not just kids. I learned this a year or so ago when we went on our first trip without the kids and it was like a 2nd honeymoon (especially considering that's where we went for our honeymoon). Go and enjoy yourselves. Get on the rides and giggle. Get cookies and hot chocolate. Have a blast!!!!

Thanks! I had a fun time making it. The most fun was trying to put myself in the mindset of a teenaged boy (scary place to be) so I could create something they'd like.

but probably it won't be until after the Harry Potter land gets done.

I usually have no desire for Universal. We tried to take a week's vacation there several years ago and by Wed I was bored. But I will DEFINITELY be heading over when they get the Harry Potter land done. That's gonna be truly cool!

You put out an FE anyway. And if you don't have one, grab some markers and draw on a shoe hanger. LOL Y'all deserve some treats, especially after everything that's going on. And yes, if the laundry doesn't get done they have facilities on the ship. And it might even be more fun to be doing the laundry with a DOD in your hand.

Y'all please pray and send pixie dust for KC and the boys on Wednesday and Thursday. Now they're saying that Ida's going to hit Pensacola in the west of Fla and then take an easterly turn. Should be curving over the Tally area in the middle of the night Tuesday/Wednesday. So unless he can change his timing (and I don't see how that's possible) he's going to have to be packing up the truck during weakening tropical storm type conditions and then driving through it and all the rain. It's starting to look like it might be dry for unloading I think... but not sure. Anyway, y'all please send him some pixie dust and prayers. Thanks!!!

The remnants of IDA will not be fun to drive through. We're hitting the road tomorrow afternoon for an 11 hour drive to Orlando and I fully expect to feel the wrath of IDA as we get to southern Georgia through North Florida.... UGH.

Time to get everything stuffed into suitcases. I've had things picked out for several days now, but didn't want to pull the suitcases out as our cats would be all over them/in them/etc.. and they would also start to get separation anxiety on us and not leave us alone. LOL

Oh, I got my DCL House Party kit the other day. There's some really nice stuff in there that I'll be bringing on the ship for our "party".

Can't wait to see everyone on Saturday!!!

Good morning all,

Nooooooo, God or the Universe or Whatever hasn't piled enough stress on me. Now I know God will never give me more than I can handle but I wish He would underestimate me a bit.

No, it's not enough stress that we are packing for a cruise. Let's go ahead and move to a new town in the same week, shall we? Oh and let's throw in a rare November hurricane to make sure my stuff and my men get thoroughly soaked.

Nah, that's not enough yet. Okay, let's try this.... I get within just a few printouts of all the FE and t-shirt and other graphics printed and we run out of printer ink. Okay... not a big problem. Annoying as all get-out, mind you! But not huge. We'll just pop into Walmart to get some more.

Oh, look what they have right by the front door. Clearance racks with bathing suits on them. Of course they won't have Shamu-sized suits for me. But let's go look anyway.

Oh look.... there's 2 of them that might fit me! Quick call to KC to see if we can squeeze this into the budget. They're only a few dollars so he agrees (he is SUCH a wonderful guy). Off to the fitting room with them.

Try on one. Hmmmmmmm.........

Try on the other. Double-hmmmmmmmm..........

I just can't decide. So I call my sister and tell her I'm going to be sending a couple of pictures to her phone and she's gotta help me decide. (don'tcha just love technology).

Oh HADES!!!! Something's wrong with my phone and I can't get to the "send pictures and videos" menu. I know it's something I'm doing wrong... lemme see if I can figure it out. Hmmmmmmm...... nope, not that.... nope, not that. Oh darn, can't make KC wait out in the car for me too much longer (he hates going into Walmart). Hmmmmm try on both suits again. Got the pictures. Now I'll get dressed and walk back to the front and figure it out on the way. Call KC to let him know I'm going to be just a few minutes more as I'm trying to decide. Mess with the phone some more to see if I can figure it out. Nope.... it's definitely a no go.

Get in line for checkout. Still trying to figure out the phone.

Oh, it's my turn? Oh.... okay... um..... I'll take this one and not get that one.

Hmmmmmm...... wonder what else is going to happen this week?

Denise, if it were my wife in that dilemma, she would have solved it by the simple expedient of buying BOTH suits.

Becky, the girls will love the Kim Possible missions. I did them in Feb with DS and he had a blast. When we go to Epcot on Friday, it will be DD's turn.

We are planning on going to the MK on Friday night as well. That should get the kids in full Disney mode. We did the Christmas party twice last year and it was awesome. Hardly any wait for the rides and the shows/parades were great.

We fly down Wednesday afternoon and are going to Hollywood Studios on Thursday.

You can also ask you stateroom host to bring you loads of wire hangers if you don't get around to buying them.

DH doesn't want to do it, but is leaving it up to me...so I really just want to know if we should. We were already planning on hitting the parks Friday daytime. But would do the party Thursday night for kicks...any input?

I actually have tickets for us for the party on Friday but my son is sick now so I don't know if we'll be able to go. I wish now I hadn't bought the tickets in advance since they are non-refundable. I'm just praying we can still go on the cruise.

We went last year and loved it. The lights on the castle were beautiful. We enjoyed the hot chocolate and cookies (or apples and juice). The boys loved the "snow" on Main Street. Since we live in Florida we don't get to see the real stuff. Of course loved the fireworks. We pretty much walked onto the rides. I think the key is to go early. I think we did November as well. Remember, even though the event starts at 7pm, they let you in at 4pm.

Two-Day Castaway Cay Getaway Package (C17 GETAWAYSPC)

My question is that it only shows up on Sun for the day #1 of CC. I imagine that the rental is valid also for Day#2 correct?

I had booked a Getaway Package for the second stop but for $2 more per person for my family (I had rented the floats for the 1st stop) I cancelled the one day (and the floats) and booked the Two-Day package. I figured it was a good value. It showed up the same way for me, only on Sunday. I re-read the description a couple of times because I thought it was a little confusing but it sounds like its for both days.

Oh I gave that some SERIOUS thought. But KC has impressed upon me that we need to be really careful with not necessarily needed expenses due to all the expenses of moving. I think it was the cost of the big truck rental that did it for me. It's outRAGeous!!! Even with a discount. So I was trying to be a good girl. I know... completely out of character for me. Ah well, it's best to at least try now and again, I guess. Good for the soul and all that.

I think they might just skirt having to deal with the worst of it. The rain's supposed to be ending here on Wednesday evening and they're not getting in until LATE Wed night so maybe they'll be driving right behind it pushing it out. Ha, wouldn't that be funny! A few years ago when we had a big Disney trip planned there were hurricanes threatening central Fla but they all turned and went away. We told the boys that the hurricanes were scared of their Daddy. And now he's gonna be chasing Ida from the state. He truly is a magical King Charming, ain't he!
