11/14/09 - Special Western - 2 CC stops PART2

Woobie, I think after this cruise your publisher is going to encourage you to go on more cruises. Hey, maybe you can write a few drinks of the day at least off as a business expense! :rotfl2:

I'm guessing my guys are too old, but if you have teenager books, let me know 'cause this is a bandwagon I'd definitely like to jump on. Sooooo cool to actually be meeting an author!

I am a teacher...we do author spot lights...tell me the title of your books and I will buy them and then you can sign them and pose with a pic!!!!! Seriously, I am dying to know...I'm sure you don't go by Woobie all the time!

Susie: lovestruc :worship:

How on earth are you getting out of school next week? ;) THANK you for the offer. That is so sweet!! My book title is "In My Backyard." written by Valarie Giogas (aka Woobie), illustrated by Katherine Zecca. Sylvan Dell Publishing. It's a picture book. If anyone wants to see a picture of me or read a quick bio: www.valariegiogas.com.

edited to add: I didn't read the other posts before writing this. THANK YOU for your offers to buy my book. I really didn't post with that intention. I just wanted to share my once in a lifetime experience. I appreciate the offers, and yes, Denise, my publisher will be happy.

Now you all need to think positive about the weather. There's strength in numbers and even Mother Nature wouldn't want to take on this group. :rotfl:

Hi Lisa,
I thought I read that the ship will be decorated the week of our cruise. When we cruised in 2006 same week, the tree was up and most of the decorations were up too...

I just read an update on the national weather service site...looks like IDA is a hurricane now. However, it may lose strength still. It should be interesting to say the least. I thought we would be nice and toasty warm, sunning our pastey white skin...we fly in on Wed. when they say it should be down graded to a tropical storm.:surfweb:

I called Disney and the cast member told me they would be working on it all day up until we pulled away at 5. She double checked the "schedule" it is planned to happen on the 14th of Nov. She thought the lobby area would be done by the time they have us board....!!!!!!

I made a few christmas door decorations...What a great way to start off the holiday season!

See everyone soon!
Cynthia

Thanks to both of you!:thumbsup2 I am hoping to get a picture for our Christmas card somewhere on the trip. It looks like I may have an opportunity.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Anyone remember the "it's not nice to fool Mother Nature" commercials? I think we could easily fool her and she'd just sit there and stew!

Great idea!! I hadn't thought of it but that's definitely what we're gonna do!!!

Hey all, I made a shirt design this morning for the zipline. Couldn't make a shirt for one of my boys and not make it for the other. Those of you with multiple children will certainly understand. Anyway, I think it came out pretty good and EM#1 gave it an official "that's tight!". If you are doing the zipline and would like a copy, just let me know.

The weather is not looking good for us at all.
I don't care much about the ports. I just want a tan

Weather at the port looks good now as does Sunday at CC. Now we just need to hope that it clears for GC and Cozumel. Fingers crossed. We will all have a great trip reguardless though. Nice weather just helps. :)

hey all Quick question, I was looking online today and saw that they had Military priced tickets to MVMCP on Friday night. Has anyone went to this? Would Dh and I enjoy? We fly in around 2:00, staying at the Hyatt.
If we went what would be the best to get there? rent a car? Or should we just relax and enjoy the Hyatt the night before cruise so we are not tired?

I would love to see the castle with the Christmas icicle lights but without the kids with us...not sure if the other activities would be enjoyable.

Too many questions, and nothing like planning at the last minute!

I am without a contract this year by choice. Had a cruise planned! Actually needed to take care of family business this year, long story. I do sub for my friends a few times a week and we often share our materials. I can't wait to share your book! Is is available on the shelf at B & N? I can order it but we leave on Wednesday...let me know asap!

Hello!!

I really enjoy the Christmas Party! The castle is beautiful, the parade is fantastic (I love the floats that have scents in the air), and there's a special fireworks show.

One of the benefits to the party tickets is you can get in the park starting at 4pm - so you could get a little extra park time in - see the castle lighting (at 6, I believe) and often they show regular Wishes at 6:30.

I think your best bet would be to rent a car. It would make a late night - but the MK is at its most beautiful in Christmas splendor, I believe.

Hope this info helps!
Michelle

We are going on Friday night and looking forward to it. A couple of years ago we went to the Pirate party and had a blast. We could just walk up to most of the rides last time. The boys rode Space Mountain (closed this year) 3 times in a row. I have heard different things about the crowds but hoping it is still early. We also figured it would be a good night to stay out late since the bus doesn't pick us up until 11: 30am or so. The biggest issue for me is getting the bags outside by 8am.

Hi all! A wonderful weekend spent at the Darkside aka Universal - Saturday at the Studios, today at Islands of Adventure. We did almost everything at both parks. Our favorites - Mummy, Simpsons, Shrek, Horror Makeup Show, MIB at Studios, and Hulk, Spiderman, Dueling Dragons, Cat in the Hat at Islands of Adventure. We rode Rip, Ride, Rockit at Studios and came away kind of blah about it. The lift hill is spectular and we loved being able to choose our music for the ride, but the ride itself is really rough - made me think I was on an old wooden coaster. However, the Hulk is now my new favorite coaster. From the launch, to the immediate twist, and all the loops and corkscrews that follow it doesn't let up for a second the entire ride. I rode it 3 times today, once in the front row.

I'm going to commit major sacrilege here by saying that I thought the theming of IOA was equal to or exceeded Disney in almost every way. And I am a die-hard Disney fan. Maybe it's that I've been to Disney so much, that IOA was a breath of fresh air. If you haven't been before, I highly recommend that you go sometime.

I don't remember having tons of hangers, but I know you can ask for more. I pack hanging shelves so I can have more space.

We love Universal! We are hoping to go back again someday....but probably it won't be until after the Harry Potter land gets done.
You are so lucky you are already there having a great time!

Let me see if this helps any...

I sent each member of our thread a PM asking to confirm information. Some may have given me information without updating the spreadsheet. Not to worry though, we will do our best to offer the most up to date information in the Mini-Nav's that are printed for you. (even if I have to make corrections by hand):wizard: I have one per family that I will give out with the lanyards.

If you notice your information is wrong, PLEASE let me know ASAP. I will have my laptop with me and will be able to make corrections until Friday evening.:surfweb:

In case your information changes at the terminal:
Please do not forget that on each deck we will have a message board for you to make / change information. Before you make your fish gift rounds, stop by and update your mini-nav.

:thumbsup2

Hope this helps some...
See you soon!
Cynthia

Hi, guys! We are not going to be able to participate in the FE exchange. I do apologize for the late notice, but things have gotten EXTREMELY hectic here at home and I am not able to finish anything. My husband's aunt passed away last weekend from a year-long battle with brain cancer. The relatives were in and out all week. My DS got another ear infection and I think my DD is getting over the dreaded virus.....:sick:she's had a fever and now some coughing and sniffling! The pediatrician believes that she will be better by Monday- Tuesday, at the latest.... With all that going on, I don't think I am going to be able to finish the items or go out to get new ones, therefore I am going to have to opt out of the FE exchange.

I knew that my procrastination would catch up to me some day. Oh My Gosh - I just realized that many of our countdown tickers say we have 4 days until we leave!!!! :scared1: I hope that I can get to pack this week. With all the "fun" here, I may just have to pack the dirty clothes and wash them when I get on the ship.....

I REALLY can't wait for the DOD's!!! :goodvibes

Thanks!

Jen

Don't worry a bit. Hang the FE and I will still drop my gift off no problem at all. :hippie:

Anybody else book the:
Two-Day Castaway Cay Getaway Package (C17 GETAWAYSPC)

My question is that it only shows up on Sun for the day #1 of CC. I imagine that the rental is valid also for Day#2 correct?

Ok so i have totally been out of the loop traveling for work and year end close out, returning from Iraq and doing some traveling with the hubby trying to reconnect. And like another poster I realized I have only days left till the cruise thank god I am home all week to prep for it and get the last minute stuff done... I hate to say this but I am glad this will be my last trip for awhile I hate living in and out of suitcases.

Anyways I was wondering if we were all still getting together I can't get on the google sheet from the email which was recently sent out,

Can someone fill me in please?????

THanks

Rosie
