11/13/04 Eastern Cruise only We Did It

Welcome Suzanne!:bounce: WOW, Five times?!!! That's terrific! This will be our first cruise ever and we are sooo excited!:earseek: Everyone on this thread really keeps me obsessed, especially when John starts counting down the hours!LOL:teeth:

MrsMG, we always bring our nebulizer just in case too. Asthma aside, my kids are pretty healthy, but we all got sick last year at the end of our cruise. We went to urgent care that Saturday and my 9month old had his first ear infection. I hadn't packed any pain medication or garlic drops because I never would have expected that from either of them. This year I'll have a whole pharmacy in my bag!

welcome Suzanne.

this group is still growing. will it ever stop? i hope not.

On a sad note, my dear friend, Andy, lost his brother Thursday night. Vince recently returned from Iraq. Thursday him and two other men, all Air Force Reservists, were flying a private jet when they had engine failure. All three men perished, all three were pilots. Vince had never been married and he and Andy were extremely close. Vince is survived by two brothers, a sister and both parents.

I ask for prayers and pixie dust, please.
Is this Carpenter Andy's brother..he has been so helpful to you and the princesses....I am so sorry to hear this - my prayers are with you, Andy and his family.....:(

Welcome Suzanne. Our DisMeet is getting scary big:scared1:

I never in my wildest dreams figured there to be sooooo many of
us. It's too cool.

Hope all the newbies will make an appearance at out DisMeet. In case you weren't aware it is in the Prominade Lounge from 2:30-3:30ish, just prior to the safety drill.

I will be passing out the requested door signs at this time and there will be a few other interesting things going on. Hope to see everybody there.

Hey PoohJen>>>GO PATRIOTS :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

As a Vietnam Veteran, my heart goes out to every service man and their families, especially when a loss occurs, my prayer is that everyone would put aside their differences in the crazy election year and see what is happening. Lets all keep these vets in our hearts and prayers.:( :( :(

Just stopping in to say Good Night! We have had to replace a pocket door today and fix DH car! UGH! Anyway, I am beat!

Talk to you all tomorrow!

OK, I think the Radisson staff is pulling the wool over our eyes!   I called at 9pm tonite and booked the 10am shuttle also! Either the vans are big enough for 20 people each or some of us will not have a shuttle reservation when we get there!:earseek: I asked if there was some reservation number for the shuttle and they said "no". Oh well, guess we'll see in "990hrs"!!:teeth:

My father, who will be on the cruise with us, is also a Vietnam Vet...two tours. He was in the 483rd Wing.

Also, sorry to hear of the loss of Andy's brother. He and his family and friends are in our thoughts.

Welcome Suzanne!
It sounds like there will be lots of cake at dinner on the 13th!!!
It is my birthday, as well as the birthday of my friend who is traveling with us....
Cake for everyone!!:D

We booked the Radisson shuttle about a month ago. We booked for 10 people at 10:30 am. Does anyone know if they are actual shuttle buses or just large passenger vans? I thought I heard somewhere that they were investing in bigger shuttles. I didn't get a reservation number wither, they just asked my name and which cruise line we were using. Hope it's not a free for all at boarding time.

Sue - DH and I were thinking the same thing. Will definitely get up and get down there a little early, especially since they are providing a car seat for us. They didn't give me a res# either. Just asked the same ?'s. And made a note in our room res that we have a 10 am shuttle booked and need the car seat.

Good Morning! I will be glad when this week is over! DH car still isn't fixed, so he has mine UGH! (Not that I go anywhere, but I do like having the ability, KWIM?) DH will be off all next week, so that will be nice at least!

Well, the munchkin wants food. I'll check back later.

P.S. Vicki - I just realized I never responded about the loss of your friend. I am so sorry! My brother has already done 1 tour in Iraq is in Korea now and suppose to be discharged next July after 10 years of service. Well he just found out they may not let him out, he may have to go back to Iraq for another year! This war is very sad, but yet so many good things have come to the Iraqi people at the same time. All the soldiers over there stay in my prayers constantly. Pixie dust to you and your family!

Hi All!
Such a big group we've become - what fun!

Vicki, I'm sorry for your friend's loss; prayers and pixie dust your way.

Susan, re: Pats/Bills. I have nothing to say. except that I don't know how much more of this DH can take!!!

This was posted on another thread - had to share it here! Jeanna, maybe you can get us a group rate on this nursing home:

There will be no nursing home in my future.........

When I get old and feeble, I am going to get on a Princess Cruise
Ship. The average cost for a nursing home is $200 per day. I have checked on reservations at Princess and I can get a long term discount and senior discount price of $135 per day. That leaves $65 a day for:

1. Gratuities which will only be $10 per day.

2. I will have as many as 10 meals a day if I can waddle to the
restaurant, or I can have room service ( which means I can have
breakfast in bed every day of the week).

3. Princess has as many as three swimming pools, a workout room,
free washers and dryers, and shows every night.

4. They have free toothpaste and razors, and free soap and shampoo.

5. They will even treat you like a customer, not a patient. An
extra $5 worth of tips will have the entire staff scrambling to help you.

6. I will get to meet new people every 7or 14 days.

7. T.V. broken? Light bulb need changing? Need to have the mattress
replaced? No problem! They will fix everything and apologize for
your inconvenience.

8. Clean sheets and towels every day, and you don't even have to ask for them.

9. If you fall in the nursing home and break a hip you are on
Medicare. If you fall and break a hip on the Princess ship
they will upgrade you to a suite for the rest of your life.

Now hold on for the best! Do you want to see South America, the
Panama Canal, Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, or name where you wantto go? Princess will have a ship ready to go. So don't look for me in a nursing home, just call shore to ship.

P.S. And don't forget, when you die, they just dump you over the side at no charge

Happy Monday Everyone! :wave2:

Jen, OMG! That was so funny, it really made my morning! :hyper:
I had to call my DS and DH and read it to them!

Jen - That is so funny! I saw a hotel version of it awhile back, but I like the cruise line one better!
