so sad I wasn't around I would have love to hang out with other "Normal" people for a change!! Hey Ronnie - looks like Feb is a go right now.. is there a major post here someplace with names of other dis'ser heading down at that time? Michelle

AWWW loved the pics my dd took!! I guess I will have to get her that digital camera after all for christmas.. You know the one the kids can throw down the stairs and it won't break.. :rotfl2: Hope it plays music like yours!! :rotfl:

Ok for the rest of you who didn't get to make the meet I'll fill you in on the shinny penny thing....

RER and i were in buying stuff to do some :laundy: and I needed a quarter so RER being the gentleman he was gave me one so I didn't have to break another dollar... Well I got back some change and it was a couple shinny pennies.. Well anyone parent out there who has been to DW knows that you just have to have shinny pennies for the penny press machine. I was so excited. I bet RER thought I was a bit  at this point!! But hey isn't he the one who flew cross country to meet a bunch of us normal  limeys?

OK now I was at the grocery store later that night (ran out of jello and had to go get more) and I used the self check out and got a bunch of shinny pennies!! Well I'll let you use your imagination on that one!!! :rotfl2:

Okay, I'm still working on the next section. I figure to have it up this week some time.

Okay, so everyone has rested up a bit. Now it’s time to head to the stores? Well, Teresa did need to get some clothes for her and M so I won’t say anything. That and I did end up buying some leather flip-flops at the Payless next to the Target; I didn’t know this place was gonna be this warm so I left mine at home, and they were like $7 :thumbsup2 . All purchases were completed, and I dumped everything in the back of the car so we could do some shopping in the grocery store (for some adult beverages). We search every isle of the grocery store, and not a lick of alcohol. I walk up to a stock boy and ask, “Where do you all keep the beer?” His answer was a flat “uh uh, no alcohol”. I walk away in utterly confused :confused3 . No beer? What unholy place is this ;) ?

Side: Turns out Ukrops is owned by a super-conservative family (let me know if I’m wrong). So, they have a no-alcohol policy. Go figure :teeth: .

Luckily Kathy is in the know on locations to acquire some adult beverages (hmmmmm, Kathy?). So, we head to the next stop. The Rancho Trailer Ct trailer park! We gonna buy some hooch? Well, no I guess I took a wrong turn :teeth: . So, we find a liquor store. Teresa and I run in to see what we can buy. Okay, I think at this point we were both more interested in some beer and wine cooler type drinks. This place was all liquor. Although, there were some test tube shots that looked enticing. Like I said I think we were just looking for something a bit milder. We’ll try another place. So, we run back to the car and head to the next place Kathy recommends (boy Kathy sure does know where all the liquor stores are in Richmond :teeth: ).

Ah, this was the place; beer as high as the eye could see. Teresa headed of to find her own concoction, and left me to ponder the great question. What beer do I choose :scratchin ? Canadian, German, Bavarian, maybe a Shiner from Texas, some Guinness (couple of those and I’ll be feeling no pain), some Corona (cheaper at home), or some cheap old Coors Lite. So I went for the cheap stuff (I don’t browse the Budget Boards because of the interesting stories ya know). Teresa trotted back with some Kailua Coolers, and we headed to the counter to pay. I pay for my beer, and wait as they check Teresa’s ID, blood type, fingerprints, etc. She happened to need some change so I handed her a quarter (I think it was a quarter). So, do I get the change back? Nooooo!!! As Teresa happily said, “Oh, that’s a shiny penny I can keep it for the penny press at Disneyland”
penny.gif
. Ah, if it makes her happy she can keep the shiny penny. Just don’t let the kid’s forget how they got that penny that was so shiny. Now the car is loaded up, and we head back to the hotel to rest up a bit and put the drinks in the fridge.
Here's me resting while M attacks Kelly:
h003.jpg

It’s time to meet this famous Va-bear I hear so much about. Should I take some bear biscuits or a picnic basket :guilty: ? Oh well, I’ll take my chances. I looked up Milepost 5 on the internet before we left so I could get to it without having driving around in circles and getting there was actually not bad. We passed it once, but just cause it was kind of hidden in a shopping center. The shopping center was very nice. All lit up with Christmas lights, and the parking lot was packed. We all piled out of the car, and were already wondering if the wait would be really long. No wait at all really. We were seated about a minute or two after we got in the door. I have to give Virginia props for picking the restaurant. I’m not a seafood nut or anything, but I do occasionally go for some. Now we were wondering if we should wait for Virginia to join us before we order. We were pretty hungry so we went ahead and ordered. I do believe someone talked to Virginia on the phone to see how long she would be (it was going to be a little while).

Ordering was as follows (I may need to be corrected on some of these): I ordered a coconut shrimp appetizer (very good; and there were more than 4 :teeth: ),
h121.jpg

Kelly ordered a chicken wrap with fries(if you look closer you can see it came with something extra),
h120.jpg

Teresa ordered king crab legs and coconut shrimp for herself
h119.jpg

and the kids chicken nugget Frisbee (yeah Frisbee; the kids plate comes on a Frisbee you can keep pretty cool huh) for M,
h115.jpg

Kathy ordered shrimp with rice and veggies,
h118.jpg

and I ordered fried halibut with veggies, rice, and super crumbly cornbread.
h116.jpg

Well we discovered that Teresa doesn’t mess around when it comes to eating. I almost felt bad for that crab (until I remembered it was already dead). Crabs legs were a crack’in and a fly’in. Anyone sticking there fingers in there were likely to get them cracked or bitten off. We all did enjoy our food very much. That is except for Kelly. Seems Kelly is a bit of a picky eater. Yeah, she doesn’t like spiders in her food. Gee, aren’t they supposed to be full of protein or something? Apparently one of the 8 legged freaks snuck up onto Kellys wrap just before it was heated up. So the poor spider didn’t have a chance, and neither did Kelly for that matter. Didn’t take long for everyone to notice she was picking at something on her plate. Teresa even got some good action shots of Kelly and her spider.

Here’s Kelly noticing there is something wrong with the wrap…
h009.jpg

…here’s Kelly trying to figure out what type of spider it is…
h006.jpg

…and here’s Kelly waiting for her new spiderless wrap to arrive.
h005.jpg

Well, just as we are getting our food Va-bear/Virginia arrives. She places her order, and we all introduce and get to know each other. At this point we notice that poor M had enough and decided to crash out on the soft cushiony bench.
h112.jpg

No wonder Teresa enjoyed her crabs’ legs so much. Oh, by the way Virginia ordered a seafood pasta dish that looked really good.
h117.jpg

Now that we were all a few pounds heavier it was time to mosey on back to the hotel for some adult beverages and some chatting.

Okay, I wish I coulda posted more, but I have been really short on time lately. So please come back for the next to last installment of this trippy Part 8 Last Night In Richmond.

I think Kelly handled it pretty well. She seemed more bugged (bugged :rotfl: ) at the spider being in her food than the actual spider.
