11/06/11 Dream 4 Day

Hi ho
3 weeks from today I am doing a highlights of wdw
.. MGM for star tours, midway mania, tower of terror, beauty and the beast, hop to epcot for food and wine and soaring, spaceship earth, test track, then to magic kingdom for wishes and extra magic hours.

I like your plan, it sounds like a lot of fun !

Wave to us, I think we are going to EPCOT that day, grab a Soarin Fast Pass, lunch at Le Celler, back to Storm Along Bay to relax, and then probably return to EPCOT for Illuminations, but the Magic Kingdom for extra hours sounds so great too !

This is a reminder.....

Daylight savings time ends on Sunday 11/6/11 at 2 am.

Which means don't forget to set your clocks backwards 1 hour to make sure that you do not show up to the port before it even opens!

Enjoy the extra hour of sleep - I know I will! :goodvibes

The only thing better would have to have already been on the ship and therefore getting the extra hour while we were on board!

Thanks for the reminder !

Now I am thinking that Jay and I should really consider staying up late on Saturday Night and maybe visit the Magic Kingdom for extra hours, an extra hour to sleep afterwards, and its like an extra hour to check out before the need to get on the DCL bus from the resort to the cruise !

Sleep is overrated go for the extra MK hours!!! :goodvibes

We'll be enjoying our extra hour of sleep on the ship!!!:woohoo:

Ah, if we were (and we will be soon) face-to-face friends instead of cyber-friends, there is a name I would call you right now...but it would be said with a great deal of affection!:rolleyes1

Are you going to be standing on deck four, overlooking the atrium and cheering us all on board? My gang will be easy to spot...six women dressed in kakhi pants and white tops, with three of the world's most beautiful little girls and their baby brother. And if there are a line up officers greeting guests, and one them is Handsome Daniel...I'll be the short, fat lady making a bee-line over there for a hug! :lovestruc

This means an extra hour pacing my hotel room waiting to leave - I'm an earlier riser to begin with, up at 4:30-5:00am, now it will be even earlier ;) oh well, I'm sure I'll manage!! I'll guess I won't have any excuse to skip my Sunday morning run with all that extra time :cool1:

Just discovered that I'll be able to attend a Disney On Ice show while on my FL to CA road trip after the cruise. Purchased tickets for Mickey & Minnie's Magical Journey at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Nov. 12 at 11:30.

I saw that show here in Switzerland back in January, but honestly I like them better in the English language. Specially in the songs, a lot gets lost in translation.

Can't wait to be there! Never been to such a huge stadium before.

18 more days 'til we meet us on the Dream!

You're going to have an awesome trip with all your side adventures while you're crossing the country to CA.

I never knew that Minnie Maus spoke German.

I never knew that Minnie Maus spoke German.

She speaks whatever language needed in the country she's in.;) Same goes for the other characters. Disney On Ice returns to Switzerland next year - but unfortunately only to Geneva, the performance is held in French there.

She's such a talented mouse!

I wonder in that case if she's Minnie Souris (Sourise?)?

Perhaps Cheri Sourise?

<Just kidding!>

So I just learned that my step-Dad has a subdural hematoma. He needs surgery and he won't be able to travel for several months. Recall that this cruise was to be me, DH, my mom and my step-Dad - our Dream without kids cruise. Fortunately, I bought travel insurance and so I am assuming our money will be refunded but I ran into some surprises when I called DCL.
We had originally booked this cruise while on another disney cruise and more than a year in advance. So, we got a great rate and OBC which I would like to transfer to another cruise, say 6 months or a year from now. The DCL agent I spoke with said that was not possible and that this cruise would just be a cancel and we would lose all of the perks completely - no OBC, no rate break, nothing - which seems very cold to me. I mean, clearly, this was beyond our control. This is our 5th cruise with Disney so it's not like we aren't loyal.
Has anyone ever had to do this? I know there are some very veteran DCL cruisers on this cruise and I am looking for info. Please help.

:confused3 no idea..maybe some others have an idea.

Sorry gichicdoc, don't have any experience with this.

Got an e-mail from an Adora-bello Italian this morning and he's got my gang all set for our dining on both legs of the the B2B. His vacation is over and is flying back to FL to be back on the Dream Sunday. :lovestruc

So sorry, sending prayers for your step-Dad and your family.

I'm no help on DCLs past practices either. I agree it seems pretty harsh, have you already tried speaking to a supervisor?

Thanks for the prayers.

And yep, I tried talking to a supervisor. He would make no allowances whatsoever. Really bummed. I hope that the trip insurance comes through and pays quickly so I can book another trip.

Wishing all of you have endless sunshine and smooth seas!
