11/06/11 Dream 4 Day

wanted to say welcome to the new posters! :)

This will be our first Disney cruise (but not first cruise). Really looking forward to 2 Atlantis days (the Atlantis was on our 'list', but we were hesitant because of the cost, but now we get 2 days there!!), and 2 days at Castaway Cay (we're doing the 3day, 4day, B2B. This is SO much better than a 7 day eastern, which we've done 2 times now... btdt and don't want to go back. We did the Comfort Suite reservations for the Atlantis - I'm honestly a tiny bit worried about the taxi ride there and back because it's not through disney and I've read so much about safety issues (neurotic mom here!!!), but I'll deal with it. If we didn't have the kids with us, I wouldn't be worried.

And we're surprising our kids w/ the cruise and I had to tell my dd that mom and her crazy disboard friends are just doing a 'mail' gift exchange, because we all miss disney so much and thought it would be fun. She has to be a part of making the gifts (she's 11), so I needed a good excuse. I have to get started on all that!

Can't wait until the 23rd so I can make plans!!!

I just looked again and Palo is still available for dinner for all days, and available for high-tea.

All port check-in times are still available.

Thanks for making the Fishes feel so welcome! We are newbie cruisers, no kids, and looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hello to The Fishes.

Thanks for the welcome everyone (Troop o' Goofs, bellebud, ibouncetoo, ACDSNY, dthogue, IANKH)

:yay:WELCOM to the NEWBIES!:yay:

Looks like we're right around 14 weeks. Is anybody else having any success on the weight loss effort? I've been loosing and gaining the same four pounds over and over again. I'm on a no sugar campaign for this week as I've found the the odd treat in the office or the mini Blizzard are sneaking into my daily life again. Each time I'm tempted now, I'll just tell myself I'll wait for a BBC on the ship. Booze and dessert in one. PHIL...put it on your list to try...a Bailey's Banana Colada...oh YES! :thumbsup2

Hmmmmm....my cruise tip for the new kids??? Don't try and do it all...you CAN'T. I've accumulated 80 days on a DCL ship and I still haven't done it all (though I have done plenty of relaxing). This trip will bel ots ofnew stuff for me, just exploring the ship and seeing "Believe". Also this will be my first time traveling with children, so I'm sure I'll spend some time hanging with the 'greats' and doing a bit more of the family activities (though I've done many of those on my own).

.

I will try a Bailey's Banana Colada, sounds delicious.

I must continue behaving with the diet, I am now 3 weeks into it, and I guess I am down around 8 lbs. I miss chips, chocolate, chili dogs, and ice cream.

Jay is on a diet too, and seems to be down around the same amount of weight.

In our case I'm the neurotic Auntie (were taking our nieces)...We're doing Atlantis by way of Comfort Suites for the first time too. From the info here on DIS it doesn't sound like too bad of a process and it's not a long taxi ride.

Welcome Phil and Jay and Mr. and Mrs. Fish - I am going to have to look back after I post to see if I missed anyone! :yay:

So excited to try to make ressies tonight - I am CDT - can I make the ressies at midnight EDT? Or 12 CDT? :confused3

Thank you iankh for reporting on current status of things! I will book Palo dinner then try to get brunch when I board! :worship:

Midnight EDT.

I'm still at GTY status. Is anyone else? Wonder when they will assign me my cabin number?

It can happen pretty late. We were GTY for a Mexican Rivera cruise and were GTY until a month before the cruise.

Waiting can be challenging, but on the bright side you could go up in category. :goodvibes

getting excited! :surfweb:

I forgot to mention that you won't be able to do the online check-in until sometime later. Not sure what time. I heard 3 a.m. Or something like that. I did ours the next morning.

Thank you for that info too - I will be waiting until morning myself! 3 am too late for me!

Just booked our Palo for the first night. Dinner is available, with many days & times, no Brunch or High Tea.

Since this is the second part of our B2B I figured we could see the show on 11/3 and skip it so we can squeeze in Palo.

I too only saw dinner for Palo going at 6 on castaway cay day which is also my 41 bday! Didn't want to miss regular dining rotation dinners - we hbe late seating so we will take son and just visit and enjoy - we did that on our last also first cruise and it worked great!

Wasn't looking to book dining, but I was able to book what I was looking to. Last year we did the sea lion excursion (which was absolutely amazing) so this year I booked the dolphin excursion. Also booked DH a surprise massage. :yay:

It will just be me and DH; will two adult 'kids' enjoy the sea lion excursion? Is there only one sea lion for all the participants? It's pretty expensive...Can you stay and use the beach after ward? Any other amenities? Can you buy food there? Thanks for any information.

Andrea

Ok, I was able to get Palo at 6 on Pirate night which is what we did last time. This is also my birthday which is why I chose that night. What do you think the chances are we will be able to take our son to the pirate party at 7:45?
