11/06/11 Dream 4 Day

STATEROOM TOUR:

We need a volunteer to take over organizing the stateroom tour since Deb (EllaEnchanted) had to cancel this cruise. Also would be nice to see some other catagories represented on the list!

.

What exactly is this and what is expected/involved?

so even though check-in is at 3pm or something, you can check-in in the morning and get the wristband (or whatever) for Atlantis then? I'm sure the answer is yes, as I read so many people use this option, just want to be sure.

From what I've read you can check in, get your wristbands and check out all at once so you don't have to go back to Comfort Suites before heading back to the ship. We're only doing Nov 7th as the price was a bit more for the our first stop at Nassau.

I'm down two pounds for this first week. I think only having two desserts this week instead of SEVEN helped make THAT happen! :lmao:Still have to get in some wholesome supplies this weekend to really get into the swing of things.

.

Bravo!

I'm heading out to lead my Sunday morning WW meetings. The topic this week is vacations.

Quite the way to start the week.

I have a member who has so far lost 190 pound and one who has lost 90 pounds. Their lives have transformed remarkably. I have another member who could not walk more than a couple of blocks and is now a walking fiend.

I myself lost 90 pounds, 70 of which were with WW. That was 6 years ago.

That is AMAZING!!!

I really need help/advice. I just booked Nov 6 and Nov 10 back-to-back (same room - yea!)

What do I need to do now? Reservations for things? I've never cruised disney before.

heeeelllllllpppppppppppppppppppp meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :)

WELCOME! We're Andrea & Greg from Virginia and this will be our fifth Disney cruise but have cruised many times on other lines. You'll LOVE DCL!

Only down 1lb from last week, but will take it and work harder this week. How are the rest of you doing??

One pound is great! I think I need duct tape on my mouth...my son is home from college and there's TOO much food in the house. I exercise a lot (even teach water aerobics twice a week) but food calls my name until it's all gone. Help!

so can anyone tell me about Castaway Cay? I know NOTHING about it. I saw a pic of someone on a waterslide there and thought "there's a waterslide????" I'll also go read some trip reports! I always love doing that!

Castaway Cay is a wonderful day. You can do everything--snorkel, waterslides, excursions--or nothing but relax.

WOW! Congratulations for keeping it off! :worship:

i am wearing a pedometer in my pocket to measure no of steps.. i am averaging 12000 per day but NOT loosing weight.. gained a lot since i was so sedentary from the foot surgery.. maybe need to crank up the exercise..:confused3 my big down fall is a chocolate muffin for breakfast..but my theory is that eating bad in the am gives one time to work it off LOL..
of course the glass of wine in the evening doesnt help either.. hmmm maybe i need to rethink this..

I don't know your details (height, age, weight, gender etc.) but a chocolate muffin could be 50% to 60% of your daily intake target to lose weight.

There's nothing wrong with that, but it may not leave you with enough food for the rest of the day to stay within a weight-loss target.

Welcome! There are several of us doing a back-to-back with the 3-night cruise. You'll find lots of useful information on the threads, and if you have any questions, just ask!

thanks for the welcome! yes, I have a question... I see the Dream has self laundry services... do they have the services where you pay them to do the laundry too?

Sorry, somehow I missed this post.

Um....the answer is I don't know that's why we're looking for a volunteer! :lmao:
I've only ever 'attended' a tour, never organized one (nor volunteered my room for viewing).

Yes, there are self-service laundry rooms on several deck of the Dream. There is also laundry, dry-cleaning and pressing services that they will do for you. The dry cleaning prices aren't too bad, at least for those of us used to 'city' prices. Pressing is 1/2 the dry cleaning cost. I think the charges for regular laundry, which are per ITEM and way out of line though.

On the main page there is a 'stickey' with an alphabetical list of all kinds of info, the laundry prices are there.

....hold on.....a get the link....

Here's some info about the DREAM laundry rooms:
Laundry Rooms on the Dream Upon review of my photos once I returned home I discovered that the picture of the sign in the laundry room revealed that there were self serve laundry rooms on
deck 2 (opposite 2002),
deck 5 (opposite 5192),
deck 6 (opposite 6508),
deck 7 (opposite 7014),
deck 8 (opposite 8150),
deck 9 (opposite 9500) and
deck 10 (opposite 10572).

Each location has at least 4 washers and 2 dryers, 1 iron and ironing board and a folding table and seating bench. At least one location (deck 6) has 8 washer, 4 dryers and 2 irons/ironing boards.
No need to carry quarters, a swipe of your room key and you can charge a load to wash (45 minute cycle) and/or dry (45 minute cycle) and even purchase laundry supplies (Tide, Clorox and/or Downey).

Here's dry cleaning/laundry prices from 2009...add at least 25 cents for inflation!

WOW!! thank you so much for that info! I'm on deck 9, and on the opposite end of the ship from deck 9's laundry, but it looks like I'm almost right over deck 8's laundry, and fairly close to the stairs, so that looks like a good option! Thank you so much!

Yep, I'm Deck 6 aft and will just run down the stairs (sure I will!) to deck 5 to throw in a load!

The prices are not too terrible considering it's a ship (where elese ya gonna go?).

We've used them for pressing.

This morning a thread was posted in the cruise forums about how their "meet" group was more fun and social since they had connected through Facebook and created a special group. That got me to thinking.....
there are quite a few of us dong the 4 Day and then 3 Day back to back.

Would you be interested if I created a group for us to interact on...do many of you use Facebook? I use it daily and think it would be great to have a special group for the B2B'ERS....any suggestions on a name????

:( There could be 3 groups, 1 for each of the cruises and 1 for the b2b so those of us not doing the b2b are not left out.

I would be more than willing to do one big group. I think we can do a sub-group within the main if need be. I do not want to leave anyone out...just was not sure how much interest there would be.

Name suggestion?
