11/06/11 Dream 4 Day

Geesh, we need to have a NoVA reunion! Lynnbrook Elem (4th & 5th), West Springfirld Elem (6th, shared with Garfield 1/2 the year till we were built), Irving Intermediate, WSHS (9th), Hayfield (10-12). My son went to ELem, middle, and freshman year of HS in Sterling.

It's a .............................

Sorry for putting that tune out there!

Anyone know when Southwest will open for booking? So far I've booked our night before the cruise at the Country Inn. I was going to do the Hyatt MCO and take the DCL transfer but I think we may have enough people to have a ride share make sense.

Per SWA website...
On May 24, we will open our schedule for sale through January 6, 2012. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently.

I'm waiting too, so far I'm not liking the price of our Oct 31 flight.

Jackie and Monica, we're booked for the Nov. 6th! I'll keep trying to book the 10th but the only cat available is 6.
I hope you all had a great time in Alaska

I've got a $125 credit on SWA to use up. We flew on SWA for our recent DCL Mexican Rivera cruise, and I kept rebooking each time at a lower fare, racking up credits. I'll do the same thing with this trip.

YEAH!!!!!! You said 'we', so is Dennis able to come to? (thought there was a work conflict or somemething) Keep trying for the second leg, you know how things change.

Had a FABULOUS time, Alaska is so beautiful! Had a great team of servers and great room ninja too! There were a couple of great Guest Services folks BUT quite a few who had no idea what was going on. There were major issues for the folks who turned Gold or Platinum after the repo with getting their next level perks on the Alaska leg.

I'M PLATINUM NOW!!!!

Marsha, sorry we didn't run into each other more on the repo...we both were traveling with large groups of friends and were all over the place it seems. We need to meet up soon and compare stories!

Laundry is calling.....

No problem. July 23rd, bring your sister and your friends, BBQ/Pool Party at my house. I had such a good time, this cruise was the best in a lot of ways and second best in others. I am already planning what I want to do in November. And July and September 2012. All three ships in less than a year. And I made gold, that OBC is going to come in handy! I am hoping to get a Remy dinner. But if not, I think I will survive. After 4 meals in Palo over the 5 days on the repo, I don't know if I will ever need to eat all that again. BS, who a I kidding?????

Another NOVA transplant here.....lived in Burke & graduated from Lake Braddock. Lived also in Alexandria. Too funny!

Ian --- Cheri & I are booked for the Country Inn & Suites too. ;)

:welcome: to all the newbies!

I have 1/2 an hour left in today's work day...then need to stop by the grocery store for some food, then to bed early for me tonight. I'm tired! I finally got home from Vancouver this morning at 130am :scared1: I will not even be looking at my :laundy: until this weekend.

Has anyone gone to Atlantis by getting a room at Comfort Suites in Nassau? I'm trying to decide if it's worth doing. Cost wise it beats DCL's price.

Great we won't be the only crazy ones doing this. Hopefully the cab ride won't be too terrible.

I'm kind of leary about the cab ride as well, but nothing ventured, nothing gained right :confused3 I need to do some more research about how to get there, but I'm more worried about getting back.

I was going to do it through Disney, but the cost was just too much - I got a decent AAA rate online, so hopefully it all works out and the weather cooperates as well.

I got my rate through AAA too! From everything I've read on the boards, taxis are the way to get to and from Atlantis and the cost is $4 per person one way.

Shh, my DH isn't too thrilled as I had him sign up for AARP to get us a good rate. Maybe I should've signed up for AAA and not bruised his ego.:lmao:

Why? AARP is the best! My membership has saved me a lot of money. It almost makes growing old and becoming decrepit worth it.

I guess it's the growing old and becoming decrepit he doesn't like.:rotfl:

I'm all for saving a few $ anyway possible.

Wondering why you're leery of the cab ride... :confused3 There are plenty of cabs available as you disembark. It's only a ten minute ride over to the Comfort Suites which is right across the street from Atlantis. You shouldn't have a problem getting a cab back from either the Atlantis (more plentiful) or the Comfort Suites (ask the front desk to have one for you at a certain time). Leave a cushion of time before all aboard time for your return "just in case" (e.g. traffic). We've taken cabs all over Nassau, no problem.

Andrea

I'm really not that worried or I wouldn't be doing it with my nieces. The last time we were in Nassau part of my family took the Segway tour and they said their cab ride was a little wild like Mr. Toad's ride, the rest of us did the Dolphin Encounter at Blue Lagoon.:goodvibes
