11/06/11 Dream 4 Day

No cruise here for a while, but very busy focusing on an upcoming trip to WDW. We'll be down there for 2 weeks!

Have a wonderful time at the World!

Wanted to make sure everyone saw these recent pictures of the Dream:

Lots of shots of my porthole on deck 6 aft! :thumbsup2 I think I'm in a good spot. One deck from the kids area for the great neices, and two decks from the adult lounges for me! Hmmmmmmm I may only have to go to the front of the ship for the shows and to swim!

.

When I rebook this one in January I'll have to decide if I'm going to downgrade a category in order to make the rebooking worth it. Otherwise I'll be paying about $22 more to get the OBC. We can always hope for a price decrease in January.

Here's the news from the concierge/platinum cruisers on the Maiden Voyage. Looks like DCL is assigning SHOW times to go with your dinner seating.

They are:
Main seating, 5pm show
Main seating, 9pm show
Second seating, 5pm show
Second seating, 7pm show

(I'm assuming Main dinner will be 6:15 and late 8:15).

So 3 shows each night. Apparently you can check your reservation now online to see where they placed you (those who booked with a TA will have to go through them). The show time WILL be on your KTTW card and if you want to go to one different than your assigned, you will need to go to a stand-by line to see if there is seating available for you.

Apparently the theaters do not hold 1/2 of the ship's passengers like the Magic and Wonder do and that this is similar to how other lines with big ships do it.

SO...while checking mine out, I discover that my TA (who I named while doing my on board bookiing) changed the birthdates of ALL the secondary passangers on our 3 reservations to 11/7/11, so it looks like each cabin has one adult and 3 infants (that apparently are being born the day AFTER the cruise starts!!!) :sad2:

I think we'll wait till after the Maiden and maybe the first couple of cruises to see how the dinner/show times work out before we request any changes to what may be on our reservation currently.

Thanks Jackie for the heads up on the dining and shows. It looks like we have main dining with 9PM show, that works great for us.:thumbsup2

Angela, I probably have the 5PM show with all those INFANTS in my party! :rotfl:

I'm wondering if NEW bookings will have the choice at time of booking? Maybe I'll mosey back to the DCL site and try booking in a new reservation to see............

Yeah, I bet you have the early show. I think the infants should be free since they'll only be one day old.:lmao: I wonder if the assignments will be based on the kids ages.

Time to take my dog outside for a break before bedtime. Both our 3 yr old dogs got out of our yard on Labor Day and I've only found one so far. Our Lab has turned into a clingy dog since he was lost for 11 days and found over 7 miles away. Too bad we'll never know what he went through. He's not handling being an only dog very well as our Border Collie mix was the more dominant of the two. Once I'm home I can't move without him following me everywhere. Both are microchipped so I keep hoping I'll hear about the Border Collie mix soon.

Angela, hope you find your puppy-dog!

I did just do a fake booking for this cruise and it does let you select your dining/show (so it should allow the rest of you to change yours if necessary). It even let me select main dining, which usually is sold out almost immediately.

If we have linked dining, does that mean we have the 7pm show too? Do we have linked dining?

I'll go check your's now....I haven't linked anything yet...I'll link us after final :goodvibes

Apparently when these ressies were booked on board-they stuck you in main dining...so right now you have the 5pm show. Do you want to stay w/ Jackie and her infants???:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: (I'll get this changed for you)

God no! I don't want to either eat early or a 5PM show. What do I look like, a toddler?

:dance3:400 DAYS!:dance3:
:cheer2:pirate::cheer2:

I got my reservations straightened out and am booked for the 7PM show with late dining. The family still has main dining on their reservations, but I will be making my presentation, with bullet points, to them with the reasons to switch. (SHOW is more important than restaurants for the little girls; 5P show too early, have to drag kids from the pool to get cleaned up; 9P show too late; yummy late afternoon poolside food available.)

I am lost.. i have late dining , but i cant see where the shows are?? i am i doing something wrong??? :confused3

Also if people are linking for late please link me too...:thumbsup2

Yes, we will link you with the birthday gang...probably won't do that till after the Palo/Excursions window, so folks can easily get into their reservations to book that stuff...then will link for dining. We'll have several tables/groups that we'll need to request the same area (actually, if anyone wants to sit near ME...we'll be requesting Simone as our head server!!!:lovestruc)

S, I'll have to go back and look at the thread...they say where to go on the reservation to see the show/dinner. (I couldn't see it as I have a TA for this cruise and I'm blocked out of some stuff on the DCL/CC page)

ALSO...we have to figure out when to meet up over Thanksgiving so you can meet some of these crazy folks. We're looking at a couple of pre-T'day dinners (a pizza outing for sure!), a breakfast Friday morning and going to see the new Harry Potter movie at some time too! Will communicate with you on facebook for this stuff! :thumbsup2

S, it should be listed right next to where your dining seating information is listed. You have the option to go in and edit it, so you can change it now if you want. (If you have a TA you won't see it, and they'll have to do it)

.

:thumbsup2 Hoping to try and persuade MArk to book it while onboard in September

:littleangel:

SO...did you book part 2 of this adventure while on the ship?

Oh,,,,,and Welcome to the USA! I hear you had great weather for the crossing.

.

I just did an edit in the rouster and noticed we don't have that many ages listed for children. Now I may have just missed them when I was building it, but if you haven't shared that info and would like to, please post or PM me.

I've put in my great-neices ages (at time of cruise), does anyone have 6 and 9 year olds cruising? (they will be on 11/6 only, no B2B)

.

We were on the Baltic cruise in June and booked the Nov. 6 Mexican Riviera cruise on the Wonder. I just told my TA to switch our booking to the Nov. 6 Dream cruise. So my family of 3 will be joining you all. My daughter will be 11 when we sail and she is hoping for some DIS boarders in her age group. We will also do the FE if you are doing them, as well as the stateroom tours (not sure what category we are in yet).
Looking forward to meeting all of you.
