11/06/05 WHO'S With US on the Wonder?

Hi AspiringCindy,

We booked a room for Nov. 7 at the Paradise Island Comfort Suites for $152.00 plus tax/gratuities through www.smartertravel.com. That will give me and my DH access to Atlantis' pool, beach, dig, and aquarium. We thought it was a pretty good deal--and cheaper than the dolphin encounter. We had wanted to do that, too, but we also wanted to spend some time at the beach.

If you're interested, you need to go to the smartertravel.com site, and click on the "Significant Organization Savings Rate." I called the Comfort Suites directly, and the rate they gave me was $40 more than the website. They told me it would be no problem to check in in the morning to go over to Atlantis. I don't know what the cost would be for more than 2 people.

I hope this helps!

Welcome, Dane! I'm going to go back to my list and add you and your family on it. THere are other children on there around the same age as yours.

Looking forward to a WONDERful time. :Pinkbounc

Thanks for keeping me in mind...but I was told that the Comfort Suites only hold 4 people(we are 5)per room! We wouldn't have enough wristbands!

After touring the Pirate museum, pirate: which is an easy walk from the ship, with my daughter and 6 year old grandson, my sister and I are taking a taxi to the Atlantis and visiting the casino. My daughter and grandson will return to the ship for some relaxing, quiet time. She has been to Nassau before.

Debby and I went on the Atlantis tour last year and enjoyed it. I'm a very cautious gambler but I do love the anticipation of winning something. Who knows? :teeth: Somebody wins once in awhile.

OK, hair cut and colored, pedicure done......now does anyone know how I could drop, oh, say 50 lbs by next weekend? ;)

Does everyone have their docs? Mine are coming Air Express to my office tomorrow. If you hear any shrieking coming from the west....it isn't a ghost or goblin....it will be me if the docs don't show!

I re-worked my WDW portion of my itinerary and now instead of wandering around aimlessly on Thursday I will be using one day of my hopper doing MK and Epcot (lunch at Crystal Palace, dinner noshing at F&WF) and an Illuminations cruise that night. Friday, park hopping with DIS friends Epcot/MGM/Epcot (lunch at 50's PT and dinner at Cape May) and Saturday buying a one day/one park ticket to AK and doing some relaxing by the pool and dinner at Boma. Took a while for that plan to come together, but I like the way it looks ::yes::

Has anyone heard if the stingrays have come back to Castaway Cay? I know they were 'released' (took the net down) for Wilma and I don't think the excersion has been available since then. Maybe I'll go look for a 'live from the Wonder' thread and see.

Later kids!

Jackie, I got the hair cut and curled last week, this week it gets colored. I'm going to get a pedicure and manicure done too. The pedicure will last a looog time, the manicure will probably get messed up before I get on the ship.

Am I the only one who tries screwing in something with my fingernail? Doesn't help the nail.

Let me know if you find the secret of losing those pounds. No matter where I try to lose them, they find their way back. :confused3

BTW, I'm trying something new for me on the airplane. Everytime I fly somewhere, I catch a cold. Last year it turned into bronchitis, thanks to a woman sitting behind me who was trying to see if her lungs could be blown out of her mouth. :earseek: Walmart had a big supply of something called Airborne displayed in their medicine aisle. I've never heard of it but it looks interesting.

It's a tube of ten tablets that are supposed to stop a cold before it gets going. If anyone is interested in it, do what I did and investigate it on Google. I take one in a fizzing cup of water one hour before getting on the airplane and am not supposed to get sick. The reviews make it sound incredible. The proof will be in seeing if I get through this flight and trip and stay cold free.

I read Oprah Winfrey bought cases of it to give to friends. :)

Just did a search on here and see it's already been discussed.

::yes:: Yep, use Airborne, just bought a new package for this trip. Last time I actually took some the day before my trip since I had an early flight (as well as the morning of my flight). I often get sick when I travel, and I haven't when I've remembered to use the Airborne.

Oh, I forgot to report back on the stingray thing. The people who are on the Magic right now, got their tickets in for this week, so it looks like it's back up and running. ::yes::

Hello everyone
Ibouncetoo
Sounds like you have a really busy few days planned. You are eating at a few of my favorites! We are going to do the parks over the weekend but are staying at home ( It takes us about 30mins to get to Disney) But I am just winging it .I am jelouse that you a DiszyGram are so beautified :teeth: with Angelina being home of the last few weeks I am way behind. I hope to be able to start to pack tonight when my DH gets home from work. I just want a pedicure and can't figure when I can get it , I am hoping maybe Tues. night. Thrus. night we are meeting with her wish coordinator so we will get our doc then  I still can't beleave this time next week we will be on the Wonder! I hope the sting rays are back at CC. It is the only planned activity we have. The dropping 50 lbs OH HOW I WISH!! but it is comforting that I am not the only one who wants to drop 50 . Maybe before our next cruise ;)

I received an insert in my paper this morning about "Chicken Little". It is a 3D movie. Anyone know if the Wonder's theater is set up for showing 3D Disney movies?

I love how far along the 3D movies have come in their quality in the last 20 or more years. It's great to see the young children trying so hard to touch the objects right in front of them. :teeth:

Morning fellow cruisers! I got my docs yesterday....don't know what I was expecting....reams of paperwork to fill out I guess...didn't think it would all be in a 'coupon book' ;) (erxcept for the little piece for the Bahamas).

I had a little trouble focusing on my work yesterday, I suspect it will get harder as the week progresses.

My to do list for each night this week is growing.....and at some point I have to celebrate my birthday with my family.

Oh, NO STINGRAY SNORKEL THIS WEEK ON THE MAGIC. The rays have not yet returned, they speculate it could take several weeks.

Well, off to work....hope I can concentrate.

I managed to mess up that little Bahamas form and had to use my white-out
in the places where it asked how you were arriving. Dum dum here put in airplane, Southwest, flight #, etc. :guilty:

Then I realized I'm arriving by cruise ship! :earseek:

Hi all,

We are still looking forward to this trip, but we did hit a bit of a "snag" (understatement) on Sunday. Our DS (21) had to be hospitalized on Sunday night in the psychiatric ward of the local hospital. He was diagnosed about 6 months ago with bipolar and anxiety disorder, but his meds were making him feel like a zombie so decided to quit. Well, he had a meltdown. He's out of the hospital now, and our DD (24) went to visit him tonight (he didn't want us along and doesn't feel comfortable talking to us yet), so hopefully we'll get a report. Our DD also has bipolar--diagnosed at about age 15. She (and DH and I and probably DS most of all) had quite a few rough years, but she is doing better now.

Will someone get these anvils off of our chests!?!!! We're planning on making the trip barring any further emergencies, but, oh please, just let those two be okay and have happy lives.

Thanks for letting me vent. We're looking forward to getting away and meeting all of you.

Mary Beth, your family is in my thoughts and prayers.....and here's a little Disney PD too :wizard:

Thanks Jackie for your pixie dust and your well wishes. We do know that our family's situation could be so much worse. It's just that, for us, this is our reality, and we would like a better outcome for those we love.

I hope your family birthday celebration is great, and we look forward to meeting you.

And, hey, we've been out your way only once (though my DH was born in AZ to a military dad), but we love it out there! We took a trip to the Sonoran Desert several years ago (Tanque Verde Ranch and then onward to the Grand Canyon). Oh, it was great. We were at a dude ranch, and the horses trampled over something the locals called "odora." It smelled great, and ever since our trip, I've been trying to find out how to get that smell back here in Virginia, but I can't find what it actually was. We're also jealous of your lack of "daylight savings time." We now back on "real time" but only until April and then in 2007 even less of that "real" time.

We sure hope to see you soon.

Mary Beth
my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I can not imagin how difficult this is on all of you. I know that it is such a hard balance to find the right meds. I hope your son is feeling better. It is so hard to be a parent no matter what your childerns ages are. We are really looking foward to meeting you and are sending :grouphug: and pikie dust your way.
We had our own little scare today. I know I have told you all about my Angelina, she is still not feeling great but not any worst. Well I get a call today from my sons school that he is have an asthma attack( which has never happened before) the nurse was extremly concerned and of course I was at the mall over 35 mins away. I hit every light and was behind every slow poke on the rode. By the time I got there he was breathing better but not great. Took him to the Dr and got him some new med and we will hope for the best. It seems like its always something else.
Question for all
Is anyone dressing up for pirate night?
Cant wait to meet you all.
Michelle

Well wishes and pixie dust to all! Hope it is smooth sailing from now till Sunday...or should I say from now till Nov. 10th!

PS. I am a teacher, and left school today with flu-like symptoms! UUGGGHHH!
By 9:00PM, I was feeling much better! No more flu symptoms! Just a slight sniffle! :confused3

....ri-i-i-i-ght!
(Pssst, don't forget to post on the WL thread before you LEAVE!!)

We all managed to escape the hurricane hurdle, which would have messed us all up. Now lets pray these other problems some of you have work themselves out and you all arrive at port, happy and healthy.

:wizard: WONDERful pixie dust going out to everyone for health and happiness.:wizard:
