11/05/05 Western - Who's with Us?

Ok, it's getting really close and we still haven't fully decided what excusions we're going on. What are you doing in each of the ports? This is what we're considering:

Key West--probably just walk around; I really want to see sunset at Mallory Square

Grand Cayman--unsure of the stingrays; maybe do an island tour and then stop at a beach on seven mile beach?

Cozumel--probably going to go to Chankanaab park. DS is studying the Mayan culture in school, so we'll get a taste of it by seeing the replica ruins.

Castaway Cay--we definately want to ride bikes and snorkle here.

Key West - Scuba Dive (still haven't booked yet, though)
Grand Cayman - Scuba Dive Stingray City w/Divers Down
Cozumel - Scuba Dive with Eagle Ray Divers
Castaway Cay - Planning on beach day with kids, but now not sure if they will rather be in kids activities w/out us! :)

We're doing:

Catamaran racing in Key West
Captain Marvins, Stingray city at Grand Cayman
Dolphin excursion at Cozumel
Parasailing at Castaway Cay

The immigration forms that I got with my docs say "Welcome to the Bahamas". Did they send me the wrong ones, or am I supposed to fill these out? I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question! I just noticed it when I was filling out my doc paperwork. :)

Castaway Cay is a Bahamian Island. So we need to fill them out.

Has anyone else been reading the posts on the main board about the post drydock kinks? I'm hoping that 2 weeks will be enough time for them to sort everything out.

I'm also a little nervous about 'Miss Wilma' out there by the Cayman's. She is moving VERY slow 2mph with high winds. :scared1:

Suzanne...I was thinking the same thing. My poor parents are going the week before us. At least they'll be on the Eastern.

I'm sure it won't take to long to iron our the wrinkles on board after the dry dock.

Scouter....what time is your excursion. We'll be swimming with the dolphins at 10:30.

We will joining all of you for some fun in the sun on the Magic. This will be our 4th 7 day DC and the 2nd time we have done the Western trip.

Traveling with me will be my wife and two boys 12 and 9 as well as my parents. It has become a wonderful annual vacation for our family.

Has anyone done the Sea Lion swim in Cozumel? Planning on doing it and was wondering how it is.

Does anyone know if the ship time and local time will be different in any of the ports? When I tried to book my Cozumel excursion, they said I needed to make sure I knew the ship time & local time, so that I made it at the right time. :)

There is a time change when we visit Cozumel. That day the shore excusions and such will follow local time.

Just wanted to introduce myself. My family and I will be on the Nov 5 cruise with you all. It is me 36, DH 36, DD 5, and DS 3. We are in Michigan but come from Kentucky and Indiana. This is our first cruise of any sort. I've been reading the DIS boards for a few weeks now. I cannot believe how helpful the boards have been. I feel comfortable now with what to pack and have found lots of great tips! (i.e. the over the door shoe holder).

I'm really getting excited and nervous. :flower: We have our proof of identity, our DCL documents, and I've started gathering the clothing and misc. items.

We can't wait!!!!!! :earsgirl: :earsboy: princess: :earboy2:

Welcome llch & sdaniel105  . Glad to have you aboard! :boat:

I too have been thinking about "Wilma" and the Caymans. :rolleyes1

But-Not to fret, we are still going to have an awesome time. :cool1:

The suitcases are about 80% packed :cheer2: .(I've had to stay off these boards to get something done) :badpc:

Can you tell that I'm having fun with all these little icons? :rotfl2: :smooth: :rolleyes1

Just want to take a moment to say "thanks" for adding to the anticipation, excitement, and enthusiasm for this trip! After all that's half the fun of a trip. :bounce:

How many of you have your bags packed...or at least your clothes layed out? My friends and family think I'm nuts for having my piles of clothes!!

What's the one thing you are most looking forward to doing?? Mine is sitting outside eating our breakfast on the deck...yes even fighting off the seaguls!!

Sorry to say, I just looked ours up and it is at noon. I guess we'll see you leaving and get to ask you how it was :)

Hey, is it too late to link a few of us together for dinner reservations?
My DS15 and I are alone and would love to sit with some fellow DIS'ers
Anyone?

I am alone with DS11 and would love to link but I would prefer early seating. I have late now but was going to request a change as soon as I boarded.

*Disclaimer* I intend to try a 'drink of the day' everyday. Not being a seasoned drinker and being of small size I can not promise completely coherent speech at all times :rotfl: :drinking1

EMMOM,
We're waiting for our cruise documents from DU also. And the waiting is killing me. Do you know if we get them by UPS or USPS?

:cool1: Our documents got here by UPS, :moped: thank goodness they got here last week :cheer2: ....I am trying to get all packed, it just isn't working.... we got pirate pirate: stuff for everyone but me, I am trying to make something.....Is everyone else all ready to go? :earboy2:

We haven't gotten our docs yet either :sad2: but guess we won't panic for a few days ;) . Watching the weather isn't helping, either.

My poor, innocent DH thinks ONE suitcase will be enough :rotfl2: . I've been trying to break it to him that we "might" need more :rotfl: .

:rotfl: One suitcase? for how many people? there is 4 of us :earsboy: :earsgirl: princess: pirate: , Im trying to keep it to 6 suitcases :rotfl2: hahaha...We live on the west coast, whats going on with the weather? :confused3 I try not to watch the news, too depressing
