11/05/05 Western - Who's with Us?

We are bringing two costumes for DS5 since we will be at MNSSHP on 10/30 and trick or treating on the Boardwalk on 10/31. One is Peter Pan and the other is Captain Hook. I'm thinking/hoping he'll wear the hook costume on Pirate night, but plan to bring his pirate stuff from his toybox just in case.

we are going to try and do the pirate thing ....I hope other adults(sort of) dress up also or I might feel a little silly Are you dressing as a male pirate, or a wench. I am trying to get a wench costume together...Tough to find in my plump size

Maybe this would be a good time to plan a meet for our disboard friends . Hopefully many of us will partake in the jolly pirate merrymaking . So no one will feel out of place - if we are all making jolly fools of ourselves. Pirate gear will be your ticket.

Ahoy Matey!

We will be attempting to dress like pirates, too. I am planning to go the the dollar store to see what I can dig up. My DS, 9, has been a pirate several times for Halloween, but the rest of us are starting from scratch! I don't want to have to much to pack, and my DH will probably not want to go all out, but I am going to attempt to have everyone wear something Pirate!
How formal do people dress for formal night? I don't think DH will get in a tux. Is a nice black dress OK for me? (not long) Claire

I will wear simple balck dress. My dh will be in a suit. my s DD will be in dresses, not gowns... I also believe we get a pirate bandana on board... correct?

I keep fooling around with the ticker thing - I have constructed one, and have tried to change my signature, but I don't think I have it

For my ticker line I put {img}http://tickers...etc/event.png{/img}
No spaces between the img tags and the link.
And change the brackets to square ones.

To be honest I went to the technical board and had them walk me through it a while back.

There is a post on the main board that says most dis meets are at 3pm on the first Saturday. That way we can put a face to the names right from the beginning. And as someone pointed out, because of the safety drill the meeting won't last too long so no one has to worry about meeting Dis'ers that might be a little chatty. What does everyone think of that idea?
