Gretchen E-mailed Allison last night and Allison had already e-mailed her back this morning. Gretchen was so excited!! Gretchen is a "girly-girl" but her best friend Erin (who will also be on the cruise) loves baseball and soccer, like your daughter! Gretchen asked me this morning if she could come over to play before the cruise!! So I bet you get that question too!! Her is Gretchen on Castaway Cay last year

I pm'd you last week and my daughter emailed your daughter last night. Hopefully we can get the girls together before the cruise.

Hey folks, I've not posted to this thread in a while. Our family visited WDW in late August/early September and I've been ever so slowly writing up a trip report (see my signature below).

If my math is correct (which it probably isn't), I think we leave to FL 30 days from today (the day before we cruise). Woohoo!!!

I see that a few new fellow cruisers have joined our thread and I will edit the list of cruisers upthread when I get the chance.

I haven't started to pack, prepare door signs, or attend to a zillion other things that need to get done before we cruise. But I have purchased my pirate's costume. Aaaaarrrggghhhh.

I did a bit of shopping today. I got both boys a button down shirt and tie for either formal or semi-formal night (Kevin wore the tie around the store, sooo cute!!). I'm still trying to decide just how dressy they're going to be. Chuck doesn't want to wear his tux so I won't get them those $25 tuxes on ebay. I'm going to check out Burlington Coat factory and if I don't find a suit at a half-decent price, then that's as formal as they'll get!!

I also bought a soft-sided cooler. The ones I have are either too big or too small so I bought one that looks just right. :thumbsup2

I looked at the over-the-door-shoe holder at Target but it was dark blue instead of clear. I'll have to check Walmart next week.

As far as packing goes? Uh-uh, I'm a last minute packer. I'll work on it the night before we leave!!

You are definately ahead of me Linda. I've made the lists but that's as far as I have gotten. Maybe this weekend I will take the suitcases out and start putting some stuff in there.

Several people on the ship will make door signs with their families name on them, pictures, etc, as decorations for the outside of the stateroom door. The doors are metal so if you get magnetized sheet to print the sign on it hangs easily. The signs are not only a pretty decoration but make it easy for you and your kids to find their room. I never knew about them until the last couple cruises and now you will see the signs on many more doors than years before.

I can't believe it's only 4 weeks away. Time is flying!!

Oh my...I forgot I have to pack for this!!!

I better get moving! It'll be here soon enough! Time to pull out the suitcases.

Door signs, my DH started working on them today. I've bought everything I think we need for the trip, now just need to get everything organized and packed.

LOL! My DH is working on creating a door sign too! Our local craft store had an after hours sale last night and he rushed out to see what he could find for his sign.

I'm a bit behind on buying things for the trip, but I've started laying out clothes for my girls. DH did bring out the suitcases, so hopefully I'll find the time to start packing stuff soon.

43 days until we bid "adios" to the mainland.

When we discussed this with our kids, our DD9 mentioned that she would love to correspond with others her age traveling on the cruise. :boat: She is looking forward to her first cruise.

I also have a DD9. She would love to coorespond, too. This will be our 2nd Disney Crusie. :)

Please send me a pm with your dd's email address and I'll have my dd email her.

She's exchanging emails with two other girls (age 9 and age 10) and I know she'd love the opportunity to get to know another girl her age before the cruise.

Can someone confirm if Formal night is on Monday and Semi formal is on THursday?

I've started planning for my and dh packing and the kids have placed their clothing in their baggies.

Now we're starting our door signs!!

Just checked my Passporter Book and yes it says Monday and Thursday, just like you thought!!!

I've sorted through DD clothes, now just have to do mine and DH.

Wow, I can't believe how many of you are actually packing!! My kids are still wearing their summer stuff. I did break down and bought the boys suits today. So now they have something for both formal and semi-formal night. Of course I still don't know what I'm wearing... :rolleyes1

I've got the formal, semi formal and palo clothes together for myself - just nothing for me for the rest of the cruise yet!

For anyone who has taken a disney cruise before - about what percentage of people dress in costume for the pirate night? 50%? 30%? I'm trying to figure out if we should get costumes or not, or just wear tropical clothing.

Well we've been pulling clothes & deciding what else to bring. 25 days & counting!!

as far as Pirate Night goes, I hear theres about 40-50% that go all out. I am wearing a pirate t-shirt that night. DW is still undecided.

Still have lots of last min things to do, but really getting excited!!

See everone soon!!

Paul

We are very happy to be taking our first cruise. Unfortunately our travel companions and best friends just learned that they won't be able to join us. So we're looking for some new buddies, let me describe us, maybe some of you will take pity upon us and welcome us into your tribe.

Me, sahm, easy going, loves to swim, cocktails, foodie, laughter
DH, geek, loves scotch and cigars, home improvement projects
DS 14, mellow, quiet, sax and bass guitar player, game fanatic

I can't wait to meet some DISers, see ya real soon.
