You will get all different kinds of comments from your question. Last year when we cruised my DH wore a jacket on formal night, but I did see many men with just a shirt & tie. You have to do what makes you feel comfortable.

Welcome to our cruise thread!!! Tip one #1 relax and enjoy yourself and don't try to do everything!!!

:thanks: :thanks: thanks for your response. i'm leaning towards the shirt & tie combo, unless i find an inexpensive summer jacket on a clearance sale soon. and yes, i'm going to fit in as much R & R as possible. :thumbsup2

43 days until we bid "adios" to the mainland.

When we discussed this with our kids, our DD9 mentioned that she would love to correspond with others her age traveling on the cruise. :boat: She is looking forward to her first cruise.

I know Centreville very well. My brother has lived there for over 20 years. It sure has changed in that time!! They actually started in Chantilly in the early 80's when there was nothing along Rt. 50. I spent 4 years at George Mason U. but came home after graduation...I missed New York too much!! I couldn't deal with the fact that you had to travel hours to get to the beach. You guys have the BEST scrapbooking store...my SIL always takes me there when we visit. We spend hours looking through everything!

I also have a 9 year old DD, this will be our first cruise. :thumbsup2

Thanks for putting the list together. This is the third time my DS and I will be cruising Jersey week on Disney. My son's birthday is 11/7 and we always have a great time! FYI- for the list we're from Hillsborough.

We are flying into Orlando Friday evening and then taking a van over to the Radisson. Is anyone else going to be at the Radisson Friday evening?

My group is really looking forward to this trip, we've been saving money every month for a long time, and this is the second Disney trip that we are taking. It's our little vacation club.

We'll be at the Radisson too! (me, dh, dd9, dd4)

We're driving down from Virginia, so we probably won't arrive until very late.

Our plan is to send dd9 to school for a couple of hours, so she won't be marked absent, and then get on the road around 11am. With minimal stops, we should arrive around 1am or so.

Gretchen E-mailed Allison last night and Allison had already e-mailed her back this morning. Gretchen was so excited!! Gretchen is a "girly-girl" but her best friend Erin (who will also be on the cruise) loves baseball and soccer, like your daughter! Gretchen asked me this morning if she could come over to play before the cruise!! So I bet you get that question too!! Her is Gretchen on Castaway Cay last year

Bumping up!!!

So, what has everyone been up to...I started some door signs, finished my on-line check-in (still have to help the other 16 people with theirs!), started putting things aside for the cruise, typed and printed directions from MCO to the port for everyone as we are all coming in different times on Friday, bought a new carryon bag at Costco, just requested postcards be sent to the kids to get them excited for the cruise..used the "pay it forward thread", purchased a bunch of "trinkets" for the group and getting my box of stuff ready to ship down ahead of time.....

Still a bunch of stuff to do!!!

Oh...and as a completely off topic side note.....anyone watch the new show "Heroes" on NBC Monday night.....?

We have a personal interest in the show as my DD18's very good friend is one of the cast in the show....Hayden Panetierre plays Claire the Cheerleader who has the power of being indestructible....the show was very good and I hope you all get a chance to see it on Monday nights at 9:00 pm.....

Here is my Allie and Hayden from this summer.

And Hayden's film/movie work biography

And the website to the Heroes show

Sorry, I had to shamelessly add the plug for her show as we wish her and the show all the success it deserves!!! GOOD LUCK HAYDEN!!!

Reading your list of things to do, reminds me of everything I need to do! We're leaving on 10/28, so I've got about 1 month to go, and lots to do, too!

Hope we don't get in trouble for being off-topic, but we loved Heroes! The kids recognized Hayden right away as the girl from Tiger Cruise, as they watch all the Disney Channel Movies! :)

Yes I've started making my list of things to do. It will be here before we all know it. :cool1:

Yes I did watch Heroes the other night, I thought it was pretty good.

I started packing yesterday!!!! Just bathing suits, shorts/tshirts, and pajamas for the kids. I'll worry about everything else later. DS9 was home sick yesterday, so he helped me.
