Day 4 - Magic Kingdom

We were starting the day with a character breakfast at Chef Mickeys. We set a wake-up call for 6:30 as we had a PS for 8:50. I made sure that I knew how to work the speaker phone so that ds could hear the call. DW and I both knew that we would never be able to wake him enough to answer the phone himself. When the call came I hit the speaker button and ds realized that Mickey and Stitch were on the phone. It helped to wake him up and get him excited for our day to come.

We managed to get a bus around 8 am (again no wait, we're just slow). The bus ride to MK was quick compared to the ride from ASMo. We debated walking to the Comtempory or taking the Monorail. We decided that we still had time to catch a Monorail and get the whole experience of riding into the hotel. I must say this was really cool.

Check in was very quick, and we were second in line for the picture. After the picture, I still hadn't managed to get my camera out and our hostess was looking to seat us. While waiting for the characters to arrive, we noticed a small bird would swoop down from the ceiling and grab crumbs off the floor. He provided lots of entertainment to many of us.

Once the characters started, they came quick. We saw Chip, Minney, Mickey, Pluto and Dale at our table while Goofy stayed in the lobby. A couple came back around and we were there to see the parade twice. One time while I was at the table by myself, Minney stopped and offered me her hand. I thought it was so cool that I got to kiss Minnie's hand. The only complaint I had about the interaction was with Pluto. As he was making his way to our table his handler said something to him about returning to another table in the area he just came from. Unfortunately for us and those around us, he only stopped for a quick photo at each table. As for the food and service, we were very happy with it. The buffet has lots of choices and our cm (beth I think) was excellent. (I still don't get the attraction of grits though :confused3 )

Once breakfast was finished we made our way back to the Monorail to take the loop back to MK. Of course we had to stop a the Hotel Penny Press for ds. He really looks forward to this, it's too bad we can't find them anywhere else. We arrived at MK around 11, again split up with me doing the bag check while dw and ds went for the stroller. I managed to get through the security check and ticket taker before them by going left. I met them near the stroller rental place and dw went to rent the stroller. While waiting ds and I noticed the Seven Dwarfs doing pictures so we quickly jumped in line. We thought this picture would be a good surprise for dw but she was back before they took the picture. We all ended up in the picture and it makes a real neat souvenir.

Our next stop was the barbershop for DS's haircut. He had decided that this is where he wanted a cut and wouldn't allow our regular barber to cut it before we left. While they were waiting, I hoofed it over to Stitch's Great Escape for fastpasses. Turning up Main Street I got my first view of the Castle. Even though we had been here for 2 days already, this was my signal that we were back to WDW :goodvibes . I got the passes for about 1.5 hours later and made it back before ds got in the chair. Actually ds decided he need to go to the washroom so off we went. Just as we were returning the chair opened up and a nice young man who had been behind ds waited so ds could go next. The haircut with the blue gel and the Mickey heads made ds look like a Lost Boy and certainly garnered many compliments and questions throughout the day.

We had some time to kill before Stitch so we headed for POTC. We walked right in and went down the left side of the queue. Is it just me or is this side shorter? I love this ride and it is amazing the little things that you pick up the more you ride it. For example, there is on of the pirates who has his leg dangling over the bridge. On this trip we noticed that it looks like there is real hair on his leg. After POTC we headed for Tomorrowland and jumped on Buzz (15 minutes) and TTA before our fastpass window opened for Stitch.

The Stitch ride was very busy and even with our fastpasses, we probably waited 20 minutes. This was about the longest wait of our trip, except for one bus trip. I enjoyed the Stitch ride but I wouldn't make a point of doing it again. Even ds who is a big fan never really pushed to go it again and we visited MK 4 times during this trip.

We knew it was almost time for a rest so we headed for Mickey's PhilharMagic. Wow, this is an amazing show!! I think other than the Festival of the Lion King, it is the best Disney offers and it certainly is the best of the 3D shows.

We were all getting warm and decided that maybe a swim and some rest was in order before returning in the evening. But first it was almost time for Storytime with Belle. We didn't even realize that this show existed last year so we wanted to take it in. Now I don't know if it was the haircut or his exceptional good looks, but Belle picked ds out to be her first helper. He played the part of Papa. :wizard: He looked so cute up there!! After the show and autographs, we headed for the bus stop and back to Pop Century.

Sorry but I will need to finish this up later. It is getting late here and I need to hit the sack.

Still to come EMH and how ds becomes a thrill ride junkie.

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for posting.
