Tring to decide on an adults only meal for our 10th Anniversary. DH is a pretty big eater but has agreed to "snack" at a nicer restaurant for me. :lovestruc However, I want to make sure we eat somewhere he will enjoy (if not get full) as well. I really want to eat at Le Chefs de France but I really don't think he will enjoy it since he's not a very adventurous eater. So I think I'll try to maybe do just a light meal (appatizer, soup and salad) OOP with the girls (10, 6) instead. We are on the Dining plan so I'd like to use the DP for one meal, but it's not an absolute necessity. I've narrowed it down to a few places but I'd love input.

Artist Point-ate here on our 3rd Aniversary, loved it, DH liked it
Kona Cafe-seems to get really good reviews, think DH would enjoy the food
California Grille-Dh would like the food, I think may be a little "upscale" for him
Bluezoo-think DH would really love the food

I'd like it to be a "romantic" meal but pomantic doesn't have to be upscale. KWIM?? Just a good atmosphere, good food and enough time after dinner to go back and "celebrate" before picking up kids at the Kids Club, hence no V&A's.

I've been reading reviews and ratings and just can't seem to make that final choice.

How about Narcossee's at GF? Its on a high floor and if you time it right, you can watch wishes out the beautiful big windows or on the veranda-balcony

I'd rule out Kona. It isn't very romantic and can be quite loud with it being open to the lobby.

Is DH a big steak lover? What about Yatchsman? It has a casual feel, but is a finer dining experience.

we did yachtmans & really enjoyed it!!!
I even had a special 10yr anniversary cake made(but we had a large group)

i think if you ask on the wedding boards, they might be able to help cause ALOT of them go for thier 1yr anniversary, infact i think a few of them posted reviews recently!!:thumbsup2

bluezoo is definitely going to give you the most adult/romantic vibe and it's got excellent food. It's definitely twice as good as the next best one on your list.

DH and I went to Yachtsman 2 years ago - that was romantic and gave us fully bellies. DS went to the Sandcastle Club while we went to dinner.

I'm watching your thread here, we're going to be celebrating our 10th Anniversary too and I'll be looking for ideas.

Yes, DH likes steak AND seafood. I agree Kona Cafe is out if it's really open to the lobby...maybe we'll all 4 (me, DH and 2 DD's) go instead. Yachtsman is one I didn't even think of. But he would like it. And Bluezoo looks incredible but the OOP costs.....don't know if DH will want to spring for it. I'm going to pull up the menues and see what he thinks. But usually he just says "Whatever you want, I don't care." I want it to be a great occasion. Think I'll head on over to the Wedding Board and eavesdrop. I'll let ya'll know the final decision. Thanks for the advice...narrowed down by one and then added one :headache: That's the way it always goes, though.

I would suggest Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. It along with California Grill is our favorite place to dine in WDW.

I have to say we ate at Blue Zoo last trip in December, and it was incredible. I would recommend this restaurant highly. Service was incredible and food was amazing. I did also eat that trip at Artist Pointe and was so disappointed, probably one of the worst meals I had had in a long time. Service was mediocre and food was just not good..

Kona isn't romantic. California Grill has fab food and I wouldn't say it was too upscale. As others have mentioned Jiko would be a good choice too. I can't comment on BlueZoo, as I've never been.

But if your husband likes big portions, nice quiet atmosphere and you want a nice meal - it sounds like Yachtsman Steakhouse would be perfect for you.

Hi

We are also planning a 10th anniversary trip and my DH sounds very similar to yours. To caution you, we ate at California Grill on our honeymoon and it didn't go well, especially for him. We had to stop at the CS in our hotel as soon as we got back!

He ordered scallops and received 3, he was not amused! LOL!:lmao:

We did try Chefs De France last trip and he was pleasantly surprised. He had a chicken crepe which he LOVED and he like my meal a lot to, beef short ribs in cabernet sauce.

We are currently having the same dilema as you, where to have our 10th anniversary dinner? We are looking into Narcoossee's, we haven't been there before but there is surf and turf on the menu and that gets his attention. Also we heard that if you book later, you can watch Wishes from your table, they even pipe in the music, like at the California Grill.

Other options that my husband really like in the past were Le Cellier and Shulas, but the later would be OOP.

Good Luck, hope you have a wonderful anniversary dinner! ;)

Cali Grill would be perfect. Not to up scale. We did this for r 25th. So many kids in there( they were good). Nice atmosphere & great food.

I've been wondering the same thing as we'll be celebrating 25 years at WDW in November/December. We are pretty plain people as for ordernig food so I think we'll being taking our chances with the Yachtsman. We both love steak. I'm also thinking about ordering a special cake and it seems that the Yachtsman might be one of the better choices. Maybe I'm wrong though??? Have fun trying to figure out what to do. I know I am. :) Happy 10th Anniversary. The years go by way to fast. :lovestruc

Still deciding...looking at menus and debating. DH liked Yatchsman, Bluezoo and still likes the idea of Artist Point. He did remark that we're really not what you'd call upscale people. He actually said he'd actually like just walking around the world and taking in Illimunations together. (Actually, drinking around the world since he doesn't drink much since he drives and at WDW he can take the bus) So now we may just take a stroll, eat at Chefs de France or Bistro de Paris, have a few drinks and a dessert somewrhere in the World and just spend time together.

He's giving me what I wanted the most for our Anniversary with the trip (WITH the kids instead of without) so it's all up to him.

Those are good choices. In addition, why not try dining at the Wave Restaurant for something different yet healthier?

Drumroll please......the winner is Chefs de France for dinner for DH and I. We're not eating dessert after dinner, instead we're going to drink and stroll, then grab a snack, find a spot for Illuminations and have some alone time. Pick up the kids at the kids club and call it a night.

We have 2 more TS to pick so we're considering all the other options ya'll mentioned for those.

Thanks again for all your help. I really appreciate it!!! :grouphug:
