Got through to member services first thing this morning and they got DW and myself on for the 4/7 DVC cruise. They had availability for most catagories. We got cat. 9 and can't wait to get away without the kids.:)

We just came back on 12/29 from the 7 day Magic so don't need to put all the suit cases away! We are so excited to be going again so soon and looking forward to seeing many members.

Congrats, we called first thing this morning and got a catagory 6 guaranteed state room too! poor John from MS had to keep interrupting my happy dance to get all our info. 75 more days!!!

Dh and I booked a Category 5 ( Deck 7) cabin for the DVC Anniversary Cruise last week. We are so excited and are looking forward to meeting other DVC Members on this cruise. Can't wait:)

I just wanted to comment that it is exciting to hear about all the DVC members on the DIS Board cruising on the Anniversary Cruise. Does anyone know exactly how many families here at DIS are taking this cruise? I guess I need to add my name to the cruise list......that is.....if they are still maintaining one.

I received the post card last Tuesday, Jan 22nd. Called to book on Friday and was told it was sold out on TUESDAY, the day I received the mailing. Needless to say I'm a little upset having been a member since July 93.. DVC didn't plan this very well. Good luck to all who got the mailing early and were able to book. I know you're excited. I wish I was one of them.... I hope DVC will offer the same package to all the other members who were unable to enjoy this benefit. You see, our daughter is a Senior, and her wish was to go on a cruise. This would have been such a joy for us to be able to do this for her. She had even invited a friend from New Jersey who was also planning to go - both Seniors. So we, as members, are not the only ones who are disappointed. I really feel DVC fell short - and must say this is our first real disappointment since becoming members. DVC should do something to make good on this offer to those of us who were denied this opportunity because of the way the mailing was distributed.

RWShamu,

The cruise was announced about two weeks before the mailings so they did give some advanced notice. We new about the cruise before we got the mailing but having just returned from the 7 day cruise at the end of Dec. we figured we would pass on the cruise. It was'nt until we got the mailing with that beautiful ship on it the we got pushed over the edge and said LET'S DO IT!

With 60,000 members now it is impossible to get everyone information about special deals through the mail on such short notice and be able to accomodate us all. I bet they will offer similar cruise deals in the future so keep checking the members web site weekly for updates and special offers.

I didn't see it on the web site (granted I was looking after it sold out) I didn't get the mailing until today 1-29-02 and of course it was long sold out. What was the going rate if you don't mind me asking???/

I called and booked our ressie on 1/14 and I know that it had been posted on the DVC site for at least two weeks prior to that.
On 1/16 I received the postcard through the mail. We got a category 5 which was 120 pts per person and this was a points saving of 36 pts per person ( regularly 156) for this category and time period. I think the savings were even greater for the lower categories. What is so weird about this is that a week prior to this I cancelled our Western Caribbean Cruise because I thought there would be a better deal coming along. Gosh.....I'm now taking two vacations for the price of what I was going to pay for the WCC in June. The $150 shipboard credit also made up for the $150 I spent in transaction fees.

Would go, but we are going on Carnival's Destiny about two weeks later, and right now I have to find a new job! Shoot - and I was one of the ones who recommended a DVC cruise (well, partial DVC, at least). The point price sure is nice.
