I was told by a rep at DFTW that if I did the 10k min promotion that it would shorten the reception by an hour. I was fine with that because the event would end at 5 at ADH and I thought the food/bev min would be $75pp. I got the contract yesterday and it has the reception not cut by an hour, it now ends at 6 and the food/bev min is $100pp. So my question is anyone else do the 10k min promotion have the reception actually cut by an hour? If not, was you food min higher? I'm sure it wont be hard to spend the extra money, but I'm all about cutting costs where I can. Thanks !!!!

Hello. I am in the same situation as you. We are having our reception at ADH also. We qualified for the $10000 promotion but our food and beverage min has always been $100 pp because our ceremony is at noon and then our reception is 1-6 (serving lunch). It was never mentioned to me about cutting an hour off my reception which i wouldn't have wanted to do anyway. But i'm not sure why they told you $75 pp because i could be wrong isn't that minimum only if you are doing a brunch? I would just ask your planner.

Cait8383, thanks so much for responding! You just made a lightbulb appear over my head. Haha we had 10am ceremony wp/gf then someone postponed their wedding and the 12spot and ADH opened up. And I had really wanted ADH in the begining buy lost in the lottery....so now it all makes sense! Haha I wonder about myself sometimes :-) I am so greatful for the ppl on disboards!

No problem! It made sense what you were saying though it made me start thinking. But i'm glad you have it all straight now. I love ADH and our wedding is Nov 22. I have my planning session at the end of April and am trying to figure out what to use for decorations as it already looks great!

I'm doing the $10k minimum. My ceremony is at 12pm at the WP and reception at Ariels. From 1-2pm is prereception and then reception from 2-6pm. The lunch minimums pp are $100. For breakfast or brunch they are $75pp, so when you changed to a lunch reception you went up to $100pp.

Hope his helps! I just had my planning session so any other questions you have I'll be happy to answer!

Weird. My Sales person told me that being that I was going from a dinner to lunch that my reception would be cut by an hour. We're doing SBP at noon and then Ariel's to follow. Am I missing something???

Talk to them again. My contract says WP 12-1pm the Ariels from 1-6pm.

10k Promotion? What is it? Is it still going on? Where can I find out more info? Is it only for new contracts? Thanks.

If you sign a new wishes contract and it's a 10am or 12pm ceremony your minimum is only $10k. This was extended through 2011 wedding dates.

With the new minimum do you happen to know if you can have a pre reception and a reception or is it just ceremony and straight on to the reception? Hope that makes sense! :) I read somewhere that it can only last four hours?

I'm having a pre reception and reception. Our whole event is from 12-1pm at the WP and from 1-2pm pre reception and 2-6pm reception. So yes, you can have all that. Make sure it's in your contract. Those are the times listed in mine.

Thanks, that's great. Sorry to be a pain and keep asking you millions of questions but would we be able to add a dessert party on if we were having the $10K min offer? Thanks! :)

Yes, you can! My wedding lunch is enormous so we're spending a lot on food so we can't afford a DP. We're getting married in June so a DP is out of the question bc of the heat.
