Thanks Ed!

When we arrived at MGM, we saw the Christmas tree. I have no idea who those people in front of the tree are, but I had no patience for waiting until they moved to get picture, obviously.

We were starving, but decided to hold off on the food until we went on Tower of Terror. The wait was an hour and being a good DISser, I refused to stand in an hour-long line. :headache: Since the Fast Passes were gone, we headed to Pizza Planet to eat. We ordered three pepperoni pizza combos and 2 cheese pizza combos. The cashier gave us the option of large or medium drinks. It was our first DDP meal, so I stared at him like I was being tricked. I said, “We want whatever comes with the meal plan.” He said I could have either one with the meal plan, so I choose large. The pizza was pretty good, but the salad was a typical “too-much-white lettuce” salad. I ordered everyone a Mickey Rice Krispy Treat so there wouldn't be any fighting. They were so good. Of course, we couldn’t finish the drinks, so they went in the trash. With no stroller, my hands needed to be available to hold kids’ hands, not big cups of coke. I felt really bad for wasting. :guilty:

While K smoked and (yes, again :sad2: ) I took the kids in the store right by the Muppets show. A was dying to spend some money, so I let him buy a Cars Helicopter. It hurt to spend $6 when I knew I offered to buy in at Walmart a week before for $3.50. Of course, he didn’t want it then. After shopping, we headed in to the Muppets show. Using the let-people-go-ahead-of-me technique so I can get a better seat, we ended up on the 4th row, middle. Perfect! The show was really funny. I laughed as the kids tried to grab the 3D things.

Here's a picture of Hollywood Blvd. at night:

At this point, we decided to get our thrill on and headed over to Tower of Terror (which, by the way, we’d been calling the Tower of Fluffiness, so as not to scare the snot out of the little kids :lmao: ). It was still an hour wait. We decided to go on it anyway. As we walked up, one of the bellmen stopped me and said, “Corrupting the child so soon?” I felt all uncomfortable because I did feel bad taking the kids on a scary ride already. I said, “Yep.” (Intelligent, I know.) Then he said it again and pointed at A’s Texas Longhorns shirt. I looked at the CM’s tag and noticed he was from College Station, home of the Aggies. I laughed nervously, because the CM never lost his creepy, bellman shtick. It felt like home to see someone from our neck of the woods in WDW. :cutie:
We headed into the line. We were one of “them”- waiting in long lines with kids who didn’t want to ride the ride anyway. B really is the one who gets scared. She gets the theming and what they are saying and it really freaks her out. She wasn’t too bad on this one. I think we were all excited to do a ride, so we went with it.
Once we got in the Library, I started getting nervous, but I wasn’t turning back now. The bellman that went in with us, had this really creepy face he was making and he was repeating everything the show said and standing way too close to people. He was creepy. :scared1: I didn’t want him near me. B was really clutching me now. A seemed oblivious and C was hiding her face. K was in his own world (leaving me to comfort the kids, of course) laughing at the bellman. :sad2: We were lined up for the ride, and were sent to the 1st and 2nd row. I knew the kids were nervous, so I tried to switch to the 2nd and 3rd with this young couple, but they seemed confused. :headache: We loaded onto the ride with K and B in the front row and me with C and A in the second row. Everyone was okay until we got into the elevator shaft. I was so scared. I’ve ridden the ride before, but never with the kids. As soon as we started to drop, C screamed
& cried continuously with her face buried in my armpit. A clutched me, but sat up for the most part. B was terrified in the front row. K was reaching back trying to hold C down in her chair. I was pushing so hard with my legs on the seat in front of me, I got a cramp in my right leg. I was desperately trying to push the kids back down in their chairs so they wouldn’t be so scared. It wasn’t working. The worst was when they dropped you, then yanked you up so you were flying up, then dropped you again. I was so scared for my kids, I could have cried. I used to be good at those scary rides, but not when I had my babies all on the ride and they were terrified. So much for the Tower of Fluffiness… :rolleyes1

Here's the ride picture I rednecked. We're on the right in the front. You can't even see C. I thought A was cowering down too, but this picture proves otherwise. You can tell K's trying to help hold C down.

Awwww, poor kids:grouphug: and poor mommy too:hug: Hope this didn't effect this kids for the rest of the trip.

EDITED to SAY: I WAS FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HSM, I'm sorry - what a rough home-coming you've had.

I thought the room was very quaint and adorable. I love the look of the beds made out of tree posts.
Me too! I'd book POR every time I need a mod if only I could be assured of an AB room.
This is when we became… one of them. :sad2:
NO, not one of them?? :scared:

I used to be good at those scary rides, but not when I had my babies all on the ride and they were terrified. So much for the Tower of Fluffiness… :rolleyes1
Oh no! How did they do afterward? :grouphug:

I just wanted to thank everyone for their words of support and hugs. I really appreciate it. :grouphug: It sure makes you think about your life when something so tragic happens to someone you know. :sad1:
I added an update just now and I'm going to look for pictures to add to it. You know, on the side of teaching our kids... :teacher:

Great update. Sorry it was so frightening.:scared1:
Just consider it a lesson on fear.:teacher:
You're a good home school teacher. You'll figure something out.:thumbsup2

It's too bad you have wimpy kids. Joking. So far I am totally lucky that my kids have liked everything fast and "scary". But I know what you were going through at least whilst you waited in line. I remember taking Evan, then Alec, on their first times on ToT ... but I have to admit that the most scared I was in line was for RnRC with Alec. He has been known to have a bad tummy and I prayed the whole time he wouldn't "blow"!

I felt so bad for you all reading about your ToT experience. I used to be a ride chicken and there was no way I would have ever even gone near that ride so I admire you all for attempting it.

Oh Dawn that sounded terrible, what a horrifying first ride  I hope they were all OK afterwards

Great update HSM! Did you wait the full hour in line? What did the kids say after they got off from it? I was spooked silly my first time in 2005! never again!! 2006 I sent Steve on with Sam. 2007 I decided to try it again,,and we went 2x in a row!!! I couldve done more!!
This year (Sept 07) Ben 9 said he was going to do Exp Everest..we get there, and he chickend out! But I knew, knew, knew! he would LOVE it once he got on and didnt want him to miss the experience,,so I was THAT Mom chasing (yes, literally) him around outside EE!!! I was getting some hairy eyeballs that day!!! got him in line with us,,with a bribe! And He LOVED it!!!! still talks about it,,and cant wait to do it again!! so you never know,,,,,

Now I feel like more of a wuss cause if your little ones can get on I should be able to to! Oh well. I'm going to be peer pressured into it this trip because I'm going with a bunch of thrill ride people, me I's prefer a tower of fluffiness. :confused3

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: You should frame that rednecked photo!

ToT can be pretty scary. My kids wont ride it anymore. :confused3

I'm pretty sure Pizza Planet has just one star next to it in the Unofficial Guide. :sad2:

Shoulda gone to Rosies!
