Every so often the topic comes up here. Today on the Member Cruise, we were invited to a cocktail party as members of DVC with "deep roots."

This was the first time the idea has been taken public, I believe. Most of the discussion in the group was about cruises, Member Cruises, and perhaps having more things for folks at Disney Land.

The idea of having a dedicated phone number for the 1000 point members, or having dedicated CM for
"Our" reservations were, I think the only specific ideas mentioned.

Cruising and Member Cruises were the topics given most Floor time, but having the 1000 point club was warmly received,

We were promised an even more spectacular Broadway Show style entertainment tonight, and I have to pack, so, I won't be here any more tonight.

However, it definitely appears this club will be announced, and there will be benefits.

Anything can happen, waiting to see what they will give us. We have use one senior MS advisor for around a year now, we call his extension anytime we have to call.

I wondered about that myself. It may have been the elephant in the room. I only heard the word resale mentioned as I passed some folks talking about prices. I could not be part of a 1000 point club at today's direct prices.

I commented on your other post as well in the other thread, I'm curious to see how this would all play out! I'd like to see things like deeper discounts in tickets/APs, extra fast passes, etc. Just having a dedicated phone number isn't going to cut it if they expect people to pay direct prices to reach 1000 points!

We were asked for suggestions of perks we would like, but, but truly the members comments were mostly cruise driven. People want longer Member Cruises, want them when children are in school ( yes! Ken mentioned that next year's was set in order to INCLUDE more children, and he said there are 3 times the number of children next year'. This year I heard 200 were aboard. I have no way of knowing if that was true.).

Ken mentioned having "focus Groups" to come up with benefits. Personally, I have asked in emails for additional waitlist.

I agree on the longer member cruises! We did the 4-night Bahamas one in 2015 and had a good time...but we definitely prefer longer cruises in general. I would've loved to have booked this year's 7-night one but it didn't work out with DH's work schedule!

I had to smile when I saw requests for more cruises when kids are IN SCHOOL. One of the things me and my adult friends wish for, was a few late nights at MK for adults only..... I would actually plan a trip around enjoying that one evening, and I am far from local (NJ). I mean just 1-2 X a year, it would be so nice (not DVC related, not really).

I (only) have 200 original old direct BCV points and would never be in the 1000 point club, but party on you guys!

We wouldn't be a member of the 1K point club (we're only about 2/3rds of the way there) but I really don't see the need for anything special. We use all our points (plus some) right now for one trip a year and its no problem to call the standard MS number for that. As members since 1995, I also don't feel the need for a special person to contact.

So far nothing really sounds like much for large point owners - more like looking to large point owners for input which in itself can give a feeling of importance. But under Jim Lewis I know they said at an annual meeting something similar for large points owners was coming soon but of course he came up with other pressing issues.

Out of the discussions you mention -

As long as DVC staffs MS appropriately the wait times are pretty short for calling in and I already have a couple of "my" MS reps which is something they announced for everyone a couple of years ago. They'd have to have a large staff sitting around for Deep roots owners to talk to immediately to make it any better and I doubt they are looking at it that way. Or they could cut back for smaller point owners so wait times grew larger and then make it a short wait only for large point owners.

DL discounts - should be for all as they've been pretty ignored for a long, long time.

Cruises? If they based perks on DVC ownership points vs number of Disney cruises that might be a plus for those that Cruise. There must to be more to it other than cruising but the location and audience would have driven that part.
