100 things for 100 days of school

My DS has to bring 100 items (non-food) to school for the 100th day of school celebration. Whatever it is, all 100 of them have to fit in a paper lunch bag.
Any help will be appreciated!

I was more the kind of mom who would have gone and bought something that he could share like Hershey's Kisses.

100 pompoms you can get at Michaels or even Walmart. If you con't want them back than the teacher could use them for art projects for the kids.

Or 100 foam hearts that could be used towards Valentine's day projects.

Somewhat OT but I have to share. I saw the cutest idea today that one of my friends did for her daughters 100 day party. She dressed up like she was 100 years old! Glasses, cane, hat, grayed out her hair, old lady skirt and blouse, very awesome!

My dd's teacher suggested pennies, cotton balls, q tips...

I bought beads.

Last year we did 100 glow sticks. I bought them at the Target Dollar Spot for about $2-3. I told the teachers the kids could keep them and they were super happy about that.

100 small Lego pieces, 100 crayons, 100 small rocks, 100 marbles, 100 pennies, 100 erasers from "dollar store", 100 pattern block pieces, 100 letters printed and cut out on heavy paper, 100 paperclips, 100 hearts, 100 pencils

My kindergarten kid will be bringing in 100 Boxtops for Education!

When my older 2 were in elementary school, they could make a project with 100 of an item to be displayed at an open house type event. We did the 100 boxtops attached to a piece of posterboard with double stick tape in the shape of "100" (Afterwards, I pulled all of the boxtops off and turned them in to the PTA) There were also things made of legos, toothpicks, pretzel sticks, candy hearts and blocks (that I remember) A couple of kids had a collection of trading cards - baseball cards, pokemon cards, etc - there were also things like hot wheels cars, pencils/crayons/markers, and those little toy army men.

Yey so many of you are posting that others have done it-is it a new activity in school?

Seems like it is. All the schools are doing it around here, as are my cousin's kids a couple of states away. None of us have had quite as specific orders as OP though. We were told we could do pretty much anything 1) bring 100 of something (she gave the example of 100 pennies in a jar as something which was done very frequently in the past, which I think was a subtle request that she not get 21 jars of pennies) 2) make a craft using 100 of something 3) write 100 things you like or any other list of 100 things, etc. I know some kids have made, or are making shirts to wear that day. So far I've seen 100 pom pons glued into a design on the shirt and 100 of those jiggling eyeball stickers stuck onto a shirt in the shape of "100". DD originally was going to bring 100 Hershey's kisses in a jar and pass them out, but then we decided to think of something creative. We basically walked into the craft store with no clue to try to figure something out and she decided to get a posterboard and put 100 stickers of things she liked on it.

I giggled when I read this because I just got my email today from my DS' teacher that she almost forgot their day 100 was this Friday and asked for snacks to bring for them.

When my DS was in Kindergarten, "we" cut out 100 Mickey Heads with the scrapbook punch outs and then glued them on a poster board and he wrote the numbers 1-100 on them.

For 1st grade I think we did snacks and she wanted a 100 of something so I think I did M&M's. This year I volunteered for Cheerios and I'm sure they'll do something with them in class. It sounds like they'll make their own snack or smores mix based on the list.
