Hi Everyone,

I am so confused about the prices of some restaurants for 10yr old kids! I know we pay full price for park tickets, but some restaurants (Ohana for one).. the kids price is from ages 3-11. The picture of the new sign at the Garden Grill says Kids 3-9. It will make a difference how many full service restaurants we go to. RIght now, we are going to Ohana, SciFi for lunch and Chef Mickeys for Breakfast.

Thanks for you help!

This is just a guess....but I did read that the GG is not going to do the skillet meals anymore. So maybe they are going to a menu type restraurant (like they were in the olden days). Therefore, the kids menu might be for that age group??? Or, maybe all buffets may change to this new age group. I feel your pain, because we have an 11 year old grandson that goes with us often to WDW, and we are counting down the days until he will become an official restraurant adult. We too, will not visit many buffets when that happens until his choices change. Trails end will still be worth it to us even as an adult.

Kids meal prices have hopped all over the place since WDW first opened. I can remember when all restaurants went to age 9 as the end of kids meals. I never had a kid at the age of 10 that would have eaten everything on an adult entre and so I never ordered one. I have even had servers offer the kids menu when it was obvious that one of my DSs might have been a bit older and didn't care for the adult menu. I don't think its a big deal to request a child's meal.

Last trip, ds was 9 but he's tall for his age (off the chart) and the CM's gave us dirty looks when ordering kids meals for him.

I had the opposite with my small sized 10 yr old at Epcot's entrance, they did a double take on him with his adult priced park hopper. The CM stopped and said "whooa wait that can't be for him" and I got close and quietly said "he's small for his age". I think she felt bad, he doesn't care much he says he's better at dodge ball in gym because there is less body area for them to aim for. LOL It's too bad I didn't know that WDW would consider NOT letting my 10 yr old use a Jr price ticket instead of a kids one before we bought the tickets. We obviously don't get any dirty looks for ordering for him off of the kids menu.

My 68 year old mom ordered off the kids' menus at WDW. She is a light eater, and can't have spicy food, so she opted for the simpler fare on the childrens' menu. No one gave her any mean looks. She was served what she wanted with a smile.

My DD, who is 6, has a very adult palate. She has no interest in hamburgers, and won't touch fries. She ordered off the adult appetizer menus mostly, and sometmes ordered an adult entree. She got no mean looks, either.

Disney, for the most part, is very accomodating when it comes to restaurant choices.

Buffets and family-style restaurants charge differently for children vs. adults. Most places consider ages 3-11 children, and older than that, adults.
