10-Oct-2009 - Eastern Magic St. Croix

Ah, thanks for the heads up on the Mickey head! I will try to stop by our HD and get one too! That will force me to also pick up the magnet paper and start trying to make door magnets.

Ah, thanks for the heads up on the Mickey head! I will try to stop by our HD and get one too! That will force me to also pick up the magnet paper and start trying to make door magnets.

I found a cheaper way to make door magnets. I've printed out my papers and I laminate them, front and back, with clear contact paper. Then I apply magnet strips on the back. Much, much cheaper than magnet paper. :thumbsup2

I bought all the stuff to make my magnets weeks ago...and they are still in the bag. I have a feeling that I'm going to be cutting and gluing the night before the cruise.:scared:

FWIW, we're doing the Disney transport. We fly in the night before and are staying at the Hyatt. Either myself or DH is taking a taxi in the morning to the Walmart and then we're catching the Disney transport to the port.

Just a note too, the Walmart is open 24 hours, but the liquor store doesn't open until 9 am.

Also, Jac gave me a tip regarding hauling the water. She packed an empty duffel bag, then put the water in it and slapped on the Disney tags, voila water sent to your room without carrying it all morning.

I thought the liquids had to be carried on yourself??? No?

We carried on the glass bottles of alcohol but for the bottled water, as Anj said, we put the case in a duffel bag, used one of our bag tags on the handle and checked it with the porter when we got to the ship. It was easy. We definitely used that water all week long, too! I definitely recommend bringing a case of water if you can.

Hey Gang,

We just booked this cruise and would love to come to the cruise meet!

Frequent DCL cruisers here and it will be me, dh, dd15, dd13, dd8, dd6 and ds6 (sadly two older dds can't miss college).

My kids love making DIS friends when cruising so if anyone has similar age kids and want them to meet that would be wonderful.

Haven't been on Eastern in a while so very excited!

Hello All,

We have been booked for awile but I have only had time to lurk. We have two DD's one 9 and one almost 10. Anyone else have girls around that age. We would like to meet if we are not crashing the party.

Jeanne,
I recognize your signature from many posts I read. You got the great upgrade. Are you going for it again this time??

Andrea

Hi guys, been lurking for a LONG time now :) Me, my wife, and our 4 year old DD will be going on this cruise as well.

It's our first time on Disney, and the first time we've take our child with us.

I was hoping to ask a favor of one of you great board members :) As we are flying in on Sat. morning and using Dis ground tranportation, could one of you pick us up a case of water? I'll send you some money ahead of time.

I am 34, an IT consultant. My wife, Amy, is 33, she's an Agriculture teacher. Our daughter Abigail is 4.

She's really looking forward to the vacation...she keeps asking "is it time for vacation yet?" It's too cute....it's really our first "real" vacation with her.

Look forward to meeting some of you on board.

Thanks,
Chuck

DD 9 I'm sure will love meeting your middle girls. Also have a 4 year old son.

so what is everyone doing the day/afternoon/evening before the cruise (the 9th)

i hear a lot of talk of people going to MNSSHP but is anyone thinking of going to food and wine...we went to a preview yesterday it was quite yummy but all the stands werent open so we are thinking of going again on the 9th as a "vacation starts now" kind of move :P

anyone doing food and wine?!

My dd8 would love to meet other kids in her age group!

When we booked we wanted to book cat1 or 2 but none available. We are wait listed if one opens up prior to sailing we would pay and have it but not likely. Very rough month here stress wise and we would pay just to be spoiled. Dd18 (not cruising this time) had heart surgery today, will spend next couple days in hospital and doc says she is not to leave country for a few months :) She will be back at college, along with Dd19 so we will be cruising without them :(

DCL already pixie dusted us to CAT6 balcony for the cruise for one room so we shall be content I think, lol. We got a great bargain and are very happy :)

Exhausted, behind on everything and just home to grab a nap, a shower and some stuff for dd as I will be camped out on the cardiac unit at the hospital all weekend with her.

Happy thoughts to everyone for a great weekend,

Yeah another cruise buddy for my girls! Hoping to meet some dis board people before we get onboard at the terminal.

We have a dental appt that morning but probably gonna get there like 10:30. Anyone else thinking to be there around then?

If anyone has Facebook and wants to correspond, send me a PM and I will give you my facebook name.

I love your FE. It is adorable! My girls pirate night outfits are made out of same material :)

Sad we booked this late, the kids always loved doing the FE stuff but I guess it's one less thing I have to pack at least.

I love your FE! If I could have figured out the FE stuff sooner, I would have done it too. I will for sure on our next cruise!

Love your FE paigerpoo!

Well the countdown continues.....it is so close now! Been getting lots of fun emails from WDW & finally starting to feel better. whew!

Looking forward to meeting everyone at the meet & greet:thumbsup2
