10-Oct-2009 - Eastern Magic St. Croix

Welcome aboard! And Oct 15th is the perfect day to get married, it will be my daughters 6th birthday. She tells absolutely everyone she meets that she is having her birthday on the cruise!!

:wave2:Welcome aboard!! So glad we have a few more people joining our cruise!!

Welcome abroad !!

Hello all! Welcome to all the new cruisers! I am excited to meet you all!

I just thought I'd check in with everyone. It has been one heck of a past couple of weeks. Three weeks ago, I broke my ankle just standing at a dinner for my DH (he volunteers with the city police department and this was the annual appreciation dinner). I was really just standing there talking to a couple of officers. Then, last Monday, I opened the door at school (where I work, not where I go to learn) and "stubbed" my toe, actually cutting a large chunk of it and it HURTS! So, for those of you that live in my hometown of Chandler, AZ if you happen to see a chubby lady walking around with a big ole boot and bunch of bandages on her right foot, yep, it's ME! So now, I am looking at surgery and more this summer to get all fixed up before I go on the cruise!

oh yucky! :scared1: I'm sorry to hear that.

I decided I should get my algebra courses done with school sooner than later. So, I had my Academic Counselor schedule them to be completed before our cruise. I didn't realize in doing so I would be in algebra classes until September! :headache: I'm spending about 3+ hours a day working on homework and assignments. Not really sure how I'm going to get our cruise planned (aka obsessed on) if I'm consumed with algebra! If "a" is for algebra and "c" is for cruise then a - c = :headache::mad::confused: But if I pass these classes then I will be super celebratory!!

I am so sorry to here that!
On the other hand - we may know each other! My DH is a City Police officer and I am a Chandler teacher. We must have run across each other at some point!!

This is too funny! :rotfl: Good luck with the algebra homework. I do not envy you. I actually changed my major for my undergrad several times because I wanted to take the least amount of math possible! I do feel your pain. I am taking a statistics class right now and it's killing me.

Oh my, I bet we have crossed paths a few times. I did my student teaching at Willis Jr. High seven years ago and I have been teaching in Gilbert for some time.

Has anyone started planning excursions? If so, what are you looking at? We wanted to do doubloon last year, but Hurricane Omar didn't want us to and we skipped St. Thomas altogether, so we are thinking Doubloon on St. Thomas this time around. I kind of wanted to try the Skyride to Paradise Point. The views looked beautiful!

What are your plans?

What cruise date were you on last yr? We had to skip St. Thomas too due to a hurricane (went to nassau instead) but don't remember the hurricane's name.

Ours was Magic in Oct 08.

Hello all.
We are on the Oct 10 Croix cruise. Can't wait. Will be our 7th DCL in 7 years. We have DD 9 & DS 4.

Yep, that was the same cruise, I am sure of it. We have to travel during this week, because it is the usually only time (except summer and Christmas) that the kids and I are all on break from school together.

Seven cruises in 7 years! Holy cow I am jealous. This will be our third in four years, but I don't think we can keep doing this on a regular basis.

We were on the same cruise as well. Missing St Thomas was a bummer but it gives us something to look forward to this cruise. We also try to cruise this week using Columbus day as a day off from school. We had to book the week after for 2010 due to the Magic being in drydock. If you booked for 2010, what are you doing instead?

I got a "My Cruise Travel Kit" in the mail today, anybody else? It answers all the general questions first-time cruisers have, but I was a little disappointed that they didn't include a list of excursions printed out. I find having to click back and forth on the website can sometimes be frustratingly slow, and very difficult to compare one excursion to another. DH won't even bother to try. It does make it feel like the time is getting close, though!

I got my Cruise travel kit today and an updated bill!! Just two months to pay it off:thumbsup2

Our cruise kit came today...nice surprise as we didn't get one when we did the four night cruise in 2008. I haven't really took a good look at it yet, going to do that when I head to bed in a few minutes...sweet dreams everyone!! :cloud9:

We got our yesterday too! It didn't look all that different from the one we got last year. I am glad that we bought the new passporter for the St. Croix excursions, it makes it easier to just look in the book than try to figure it out on the internet.

I will say, the big envelope from DCL does something in the way of adding excitement!

Hi Everyone!
We also received our packet. Everyone in the family had to have their time with the packet to look at the documents. :sad2:

Hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!

:confused3 sniffle, sniffle....no packet for us yet.....:headache: Did we have to go through Disney in order to get a packet, cuz we went through an online TA?

Grrrr...still no papers! I called my TA and in turn she called Disney. I was told they dont send paperwork out till 90 days b4 we sail....all those packets you guys got must be a figment of my imagination :3dglasses.....
anyway, im green with envy and happy for you...grumble grumble :sad2:
On a more positive note...We did get our MNSSHP tickets in the mail on Friday!
Is anyone considering shipping anything to the port ahead of time?

:surfweb: Hey all, just checking in - things have been a bit crazy between work and school which just started up again - I have this Applied Research Methods class that is about to wear me out! I tried catching up but think I missed some new folks to add to the list.

Do me a favor - if you are new, please just reply with how many of you and ages of kids so I can add you to the list. Also if you want to do the FE or other activities - see link on the first page, let me know and I will add you to that list too.

Happy Memorial Day!
;)

I'm going to wait and order my MNSSHP tickets until Septemberish. I don't think there's any danger of our evening selling out? :confused3

I am planning to ship some things ahead of time. I don't know if I'll ship it to the port or to our pre-cruise hotel. I need to send some birthday decorations for DD and then some sand toys, etc., for the beaches. Then I plan to just pass those toys and inflatable things on to my friend who gets on the Wonder the day after we get off the Magic.
