10-Oct-2009 - Eastern Magic St. Croix

I think DH and I are going to do the Skyride in St. Thomas, leave the kids on the ship. Isn't there a bar up top?

Yeah, I think that there is. My only concern is if those drinks will be too yummy and I may be hurting on the trip back down!

I looked into doing this on my own (http://paradisepointtramway.com/rates.html), and it is actually cheaper to do this excursion through DCL. I was shocked!

Has anyone started planning excursions? If so, what are you looking at? What are your plans?

We'll be doin the St Thomas Doubloon Tour! Looks like a blast! I think we'll be playing St Croix by ear, shop & stroll. As for Casyaway Cay, we're snorkling ALL DAY!
Im checking out tickets now for the MNSSHP. We're definatly in on the 9th!!

Also, we decided to go with the Disney parks when we get back...instead of Universal. The Family voted!!!!!:dance3:

I wonder if DCL gets a group rate discount? When we were in St. Thomas 2 years ago, we went to Maagen's Bay, on our own, and had a nice day there. But it was a pricey day.

We are staying in FL until Monday morning, after the cruise. So, that gives us Sunday to do something with. I'm not sure what we're going to do yet.

Who all is going to MNSSHP on Friday, Oct 9th? Should we plan to meet up and say hello? Maybe we could meat and sail the Pirates ride to get us more excited for the cruise the next day?

I looked last night with no avail....where am I supposed to go to buy the MNSSHP tickets? Should I call direct?

I can't find a way to order online, either. I do think you have to call to order the tickets.

At Costco yesterday I bought these huge rolling duffel bags. I'm hoping to get by with using the 3 of those bags to get us to FL and back.

As in the past when they were first released, they do not show up for purchase online and have to be called in. A little later they will be available to purchase online.

Welcome Becky, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I wish that my dh and I could have done something as romantic as a cruise for our wedding, but seeing as we were poor as dirt at the time it wasn't even a possibility (and Dad's shotgun to make sure the wedding happened probably wouldn't have been allowed past security :rotfl::rotfl:). I am very excited for you!

Deck 7 is has such an awesome view, you have a great place for a wedding!:bride:

Congrats & Welcome to you, Becky & your DF! Looking forward to seeing your 1st dance on the Magic as a married couple! You two should sign up for the Newly Wed game on board! ;)

I looked over the excursions on the DCL website again today. Snorkeling in both St Croix and St Thomas may be overkill, but it is what appeals most.

The Fodor's Virgin Islands travel book says that Buck Island Reef National Monument is not to be missed. The jeep adventure sounds fun too, and so does the mini boat. Both of my kids are teenagers, so I have no problems with age restrictions - the older one could even drive...

On St Thomas/St John, my husband stopped me after I read the Doubloon Sail & Snorkel - the pirate theme appeals to him and he didn't want to hear anything else. I think the kayak, hike & snorkel of Cas Cay sounds like fun. I've read that Trunk Bay is absolutely beautiful and they have an underwater snorkeling trail that is fun, but DH may need more activity than that.

So I just saved stuff to my wish list and let it go for now.

Thanks everyone! We are very excited. We've been on a Western before and a few trips on the Wonder. My parents have never been on a cruise before and my mom is getting nervous. We've been on two cruises with DF's parents and one with his brothers and they are all hooked!
I haven't even looked at excursions yet. Depends on how much people gives us off our honeymoon registry lol

I definitely want to see if we can get on Match your Mate I think it would be tons of fun!
