10-Oct-2009 - Eastern Magic St. Croix

Just got back ... Mom is doing okay, but in a lot of pain. She is also suffering Pancreatitis from the buildup in her Gall Bladder. They plan on operating on Thursday, and she shoud be out Friday. When I left the ER .. She was still waiting to be moved to a room. I hope she doesn't have to spend the night in the ER area.

Good Morning!

Been MIA lately. Went home last Tuesday not feeling well and ended up staying in bed the next 2 1/2 days. I have a bad bad case of the flu I guess. Back to work this week and back among the living!:cool1:

We took all 3 dogs on a walk last night. It was Kylee's first. She did the normal "fish on a line" thing but eventually walked along. Willie, the Yorkie acts like he has been with us since day one. You would never know he has been passed around like he has and neglected like he was. We still have not found the perfect "Doggie Yummy" that they all like yet.

MJ-I'm so sorry about your Mom. Must be hard for you not to be there with her. Lots of Pixie Dust coming your way!:tinker: Glad you got your daughters glasses back!

DenverVal- How fun to be going to Hawaii! We went last year and I fell in love with it. SOOOO Beautiful! Have a wonderful time!

On another note, I could use some pixie dust my way. My sister had to take my Mom to Emerg early this morning ... Turns out she needs to have her Gall Bladder removed. They are keeping her in and hope to have it removed Wednesday or Thursday. She is on Coumadin (DVT history) and has to be weaned off it first. My younger brother has Down's Syndrome, so he will be coming up to stay with me while Mom is in the Hospital. Kirstyn is at home, so she will be able to stay with him while I am at work. I'll know more about her condition tonight when I go see her. Please keep her in your thoughts. Thanks.

Mj, So sorry about your mom. I hope everything goes ok, my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

So its been over a week since all the stuff with my uncle and I am happy to say things are getting back to normal well as normal as they can. My Dad is trying to stay busy and that seems to help. He also works in the mining industry (not under ground like my uncle) so its hard. He travels and there is a good chance he could be at my uncles mine in the near future.

Well it's great to be back and we are just getting ready to leave to take the kids to Kennywood (amusement park) I hope it stops raining and I hope everyone has a great day.:thumbsup2

Good Morning!

Another hot hot hot day in Colorado, much the same as yesterday and tomorrow. Sure wish we had air conditioning!

DH left yesterday for firefighting in California so that means all the morning duties are mine, feeding dogs, taking out trash etc... Needless to say I was 4 minutes late to work this morning and I even got up early. Since I was up early I keep thinking oh I can fit in this that and the other:rolleyes:

Jajo-

Man o' man you miss reading our board for a couple of days and you get way behaind on all the latest news.

Christa, like all of us here, I am sorry to hear of your sorrow. Please keep us informed.
Mary, glad to hear you were able to get your daughters glasses back. I know if I were to lose mine I would be stumbling around and running into things. (That's it laugh...........make fun of the ol' guy from Florida!!!):lmao::rotfl2:
Mary again, Don't need no rain. We have been getting plenty this year. Gots my fingers crossed that it keeps rain'n.
Well gang, I'm at work, and the ol' boss is givin'n me the ol' crazy eyeball look. (I don't think he is play'n with a full deck. His elevator only goes up to his knees. If'n you know what I mean.) Keep thinking those Disney thoughts and having Disney dreams. Talk to you again real soon.:woohoo:

Good Morning!

Getting ready to go to water aerobics. Hope everyone has a fantastic Saturday!!

Hi everyone!

I just got back from a Kindergarten Teachers Conference and I'm so happy to be home! Lovely location (Lake Tahoe) - but we got stuck at the Bates Motel. :scared1:

MJ- How is your mom doing? I've been thinking about all of you and sending thoughts your way.pixiedust:

Mickey02- I'll think about your DH, too! Is he up in Northern California? If so, he's fighting the fires that have been sending smoke our way for the past month. When he calls home, tell him we appreciate all his efforts! And you too! I know how hard it is to have him gone for weeks and weeks at a time. Servicemen, Policemen and Firemen (women too!)provide such a service to our nation and sometimes they need to be reminded how much we appreciate what they do for us! I certainly do!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! We'll stay indoors most of the time. It's going to be near 100 all weekend here in Northern Nevada. :flower3:

I will add your DH to my daily prayers. along with all the other DISers who seem to need it this summer...lol

So I think we need a "cool" name like some of the other meets. Anyone have any idea?

Hi --- Update on my mom. She is still in the hospital. They can't perform surgery, as she still has an infection. She is out of pain for now, so they are probably going to send her home with antibiotics, then they will perform the surgery in 4 to 6 weeks. Good for her, but I will be aboard the Magic at that time. I leave in 2 weeks and will be back on Sept 6. I will have my laptop with me, so will be in touch via email.

:thumbsup2

Just checking in. Going to see The Dark Knight tonight. Not to excited but DH wants to see it.

He came home last night. They deactivated them early. I guess it cost something like $15,000 and hour per plane for the state to use them. There are rumors that they will send him out again next Friday this time to Oregon. I guess the fires are heading there. Good thing he came home because the belt on my washer broke. I can only imagine what it would be like to not have a washer for 2 weeks. :scared1: Thanks for all the prayers!

Barb, Glad to here about your DH.

I'm really surprised that my DH and DS's don't want to go see The Dark Knight, I would really have a hard time going to see it especially since Heath Ledger died right after filming, I wonder if that is half the reason for the popularity. Let me know how it is. Maybe to mature for my fellas.. ;)

jajo-I think you're right about the popularity steming from Heath Ledgers death. I am not looking forward to seeing this movie. I really wanted to see Mama Mia but Bob is not to excited about seeing it :sad2:

Haven't gotten notified of any posts on this board lately so I got behind in reading and I'm busy catching up. We got back from DVC''s HHI resort last week. The weather turned bad at the end of our stay (lots of rain) and we came home a day early. Don't remember having a rain problem in all the years we have gone to HH in the summer. Our next trip will be to WDW (OKW) in October. Our cabin # is 6582 if you want to add it to the list, MJ.

good morning!

DH and DS saw Dark Knight last week. DS (a very tough critic-especially when it comes to comic books turning in to movies) loved the movie. I do share in the opinion that it's popular because it is Heath's final "full" movie.

I saw Mama Mia yesterday and it was cute.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Just doing some cleaning and yard work. DD left today headed back to college.:sad1:

I seem to be having trouble with my computer updating the treads.

Just wanted to say Hi to one and all. Hello:wave2:
Once again I've been gone for a few days and I get soooooooooooooo far behind. I'm one of those ssssllllllooooooooowwwwwwwwww readers. No speed reader here!!!:surfweb:
He Mary we don't need any of your rain down here. It's been raining, like they say cats & dogs down here in the sunshine state. But, we really need this wet stuff, we've had kinda of a drought situation here for a couple years. Now it looks like we are trying to make it up all in one summer rainy season.
Well, DW tells me she wants to get on this here computer, so looks like Im' getting bumped off. I'll check in again sooner from now on I promise.
Ya'll be real good now, ya hear!! Keep thinking those Disney thoughts and dreamin' those Disney dreams.:woohoo:
