Just in case this hasn't been posted yet, there is a new airline out of Columbus, OH called 'Skybus'. So far they will only be serving several cities in the US but from what I've seen rates are very reasonable. They go to Fort Lauderdale, Boston, LA, Vancouver, Kansas City and some other cities. Check it out! I'm waiting for DH to get home from China today to talk to him about where we can go!!! Hopefully Fort Lauderdale. Would love to go to Key West or the beach somewhere!!

OMG- thank you so much!! :cool1: My cousin is getting married in Kansas City this summer and we live in Michigan, I haven't been able to find any tickets we could afford. But, for $10 we might be able to go out of Columbus!

Has anyone travelled them before?

I heard about this on the radio yesterday and I still haven't gone online to look. They are a new carrier, but take a look at all of the details because they said on air that the ticket is $10, plus you have to add on taxes, plus they charge for baggage handling, plus if you want a drink you have to pay for that. Everything is an add on so I am not sure how much that $10 ticket will cost once you have added everything else in.

Read their website carefully. It's quite illuminating. EVERYTHING is a la carte. Checked bags are $5 each for the first two. Drinks and food are purchased on the plane. The "rules" page further clarifies that you're not allowed to "sneak food onboard" unless you bring enough for the whole plane.

This will be an interesting airline adventure for sure.

That would be too funny, you could set up kind of a potluck in row 1. popcorn::

Thanks for posting this! DS just sent in his college acceptance to Ohio State, so if we can fly him from Columbus to Boston for $10 that would be amazing!!!We'll definitely be looking into this - even with extra fees, it's still really cheap. And since it's only a 1 1/2 hour flight, he really won't need to eat and he'll probably only need to check 1 bag. Woohoo!

Well, that's what I was thinking about the added charges. If it is just a short trip you really wouldn't need that many bags anyway. And, on the other flights you only get a drink anyway. I guess we'll have to really add up everything but I still think it would be cheaper anyway.

Wow, for $108.90 DH, DD and I could fly from Portsmouth to Columbus over Memorial weekend!! And parking at Pease airport is free, so even a better deal!! So...what's there to do in Columbus, Ohio?

I don't care about the extra fees because the flight is only 1-3/4 hours and for just a weekend we'd be lucky to even check one bag.

well i looked but leaving ft lauderdale the only place we can go is columbus.

Ooh, thanks for the post. They don't fly in my area yet, but I'll wish and hope for them to come to Stewart Airport in Newburgh, NY. That would be great! Then, if they flew into Sanford, cheap trips to Disney :thumbsup2
