10 Nights, 9 Days, 2 Birthdays and 1 Magical May 2014 Vacation! **Complete 6-10**

Subscribing! Some of our dates overlap. We will be there May 30-June 5. I started a PTR also! This will be our first trip in five years and we'll be staying at POR!

I think your family will love Pop Century! And that walk over to AoA is a lot of fun! :cool1:

I will have to subscribe to yours too! I'm pretty excited that AoA is just a bridge away! Like getting two resorts for the price of one :) Too bad we can't use the Nemo pool!

And you will love POR!!

That's cuz all the cool people live in St. Louis! :thumbsup2 they really are super easy and cute. We have the mom and dad ones in your picture too! Great minds, I tell ya!

Neurotic nut bag?!! :rotfl2: well, you're in good company!

Your day 1 plans sound good. We also got one of the nonstop, crack of dawn flights this trip too. Ours is at 7:50 so I told DH we should leave around 5:30 for the airport. That went over really well.....my hope is we all sleep on the plane!

Love the pic of Harper sticking out her tongue! Too cute!

Oh my Harper is a piece of work :rotfl: I thought her sister was trying... but man oh man, she has her beat! I'll admit it, she got her stubborness from me but she definitely got her tantrum throwing ability from her dad :) I've heard many of stories from my MIL about my DH throwing himself of the ground in the grocery store in true tantrum form! Gotta love it!

Since my in laws are MUCH closer to the airport than we are, we will do what we did the last 2 trips and stay at their house the night before. But even with that we will probably have to leave their house at 3:45 or so! Now that's just ridiculous!! :rolleyes2 Might as well just stay up because you know I'm not going to be able to sleep anyways! Ha ha! :lmao:

Thanks for subbing to mine also Andrea! And you're right...it really is like getting two resorts in one! Will they not allow you to use the Nemo pool if you're staying at Pop?

Cannot wait to stay at POR! We're very excited about having a new experience! :cool1:

I am here! Its so nice to put a face with a name. Both of your DD's are so cute. I love the matching shirts! I love your logic. Its seems like no matter how long you plan to be in WDW it never seems like enough to get everything in. Trying to squeeze one long trip in before you have to pay for Harper is a great idea!

I am excited to hear all about the rest of your trip plans!

Oh man... have I been MIA! Now that the Christmas season is over I can get back into the swing of things! But, of course I can't until I share a bit about our Christmas!

This was the first year that BOTH of our girls really got into Christmas! Last year, the little one totally got into opening presents, but wasn't too into that big fat man in the red suit! This year on the other hand, I really believe that she finally put two and two together... that Santa brings her presents on Christmas morning! And we really enjoyed this year with our oldest! She had a BLAST with everything Christmas. And now that she's in Kindergarten I'm cherishing the remaining Santa years we have with her. I know it's only a matter of time :(

Anyways... here's a summary of our Christmas season! Enjoy!

Every year we head to a local Christmas Tree Farm and chop down our tree! Of course Addie loved picking out the tree and cheering daddy on while he cut it down!

Harper on the other hand, per usual, was in a world of her own :) She's something else!

And of course we met Santa and told him ALL the goodies they wanted for Christmas! Except for Addison's #1 gift she asked for, there was a definite theme...

We then got home and had to put up the tree ASAP! Here's the little gem we picked up on our April Disney trip! Our trip ornament tradition!

Then the Christmas celebrations started! 4 days of Christmas this year!! The 22nd we celebrated with my FIL's side of the family and then the 23rd with my mom's side of the family!

After the presents were opened, we just HAD to break out the Disney Headbandz and my cousin and I just had to play with the older kiddos! Would you believe it... the two ADULTS were the only ones that couldn't guess who we were! To my credit, I did have a hard one! Carriage?? Who immediately thinks of the carriage? Ha ha!

Then Christmas Eve is filled with my immediate family and my dad's side of the family.

Then Santa came!!! And he was way too good to the girls this year!!

And of course... Addison's #1 present she asked for!

Then we rounded out Christmas Day with DH's immediate family and my MIL's side! And to top it all off... I'm a nurse and had to work a 12 hour night shift Christmas night!! I hadn't been that exhausted in VERY long time!! Dang, I'm, just tired after reliving it through this post! Ha ha!

Can you guess the theme?? Ha ha!

It was a great holiday season and I'm sad and happy that it's over. It was very magical with the kids... but boy oh boy did we need to catch up on some sleep :)

Happy Holidays (a little late!) from our family to yours!

Now... back to the Disney updates!

Will they not allow you to use the Nemo pool if you're staying at Pop?

Just realized that I never responded to you! I'm pretty sure they don't let you... at least that's what I learned while researching for our AoA stay. No pool hopping :(

And on with the show!

Friday, May 23rd

Where are we spending our first full day at Disney?? Why Magic Kingdom, of course!

Ideally, I love to spend our first Disney moments at Magic Kingdom. But after looking at crowd calendars and such it just didn't make much sense. So we will ALL be so excited to walk through the gates and see that glorious castle! I can't wait to see our little one's reaction since I'm sure she won't really remember seeing it in person when she was just shy of 2!

Hopefully we will all be well rested after calling it an early night the night before and can get there for Rope Drop! Once in, I'm sure we will try to head back to New Fantasyland and do ETWB and the rest of the N.F. attractions... we are all really hoping that the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train is open!

This is what it looked like last April when we were there!

After exploring New Fantasyland, we will probably just check out the wait times and go from there. I know we'd all love to check out Splash Mountain's wait time because it's our favorite, but we may head over to Space Mountain since Addison will FINALLY be tall enough to ride it! I'm thinking that the first part of the day we will just play by ear as far as rides go.

So we will try to cram as much in as we can before Addison's 11:00 appointment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique!

I'm sure my MIL will be joining me here and the boys will take Harper to do something. What stinks is that Harper will be 3 days shy of 3, but can't go to the BBB herself :( So I will have to make sure to bring her a princess dress and take her over to Castle Couture to get pixie dusted herself! I would have waited until after she turned 3, but today was the only day that going to the BBB made sense and we'd get our $ worth... bummer!

After this we will grab some lunch somewhere... maybe Pecos Bill's? We'll just have to see what everyone feels like!

After lunch it could go a few ways. 1. We all head back to Pop to rest. I know Addison won't sleep and will want to swim... and with just getting princessed up at the BBB I don't know if I want to risk her ruining her hair before our fun dinner ADR! So that leads me into #2. Either Derek or I take Harper back to nap and everyone else stays at M.K. for the afternoon. Or we could do #3. Everybody stays at M.K.! We will just have to wait and see how the morning goes!

I haven't given FP+ much thought yet... I'll have to get together with my MIL and figure it all out. If we head back to M.K. before dinner, I may try to use them then. Who knows... I'm a planner, but I'm not sure I like this extent of planning. But that's another topic for another day! Ha ha!

After a possible rest time, we will have to wait and see what time it gets to being. If we go back to Pop we could either go straight to dinner or possibly, depending on the time, hit up M.K. for a bit because our dinner ADR is just a hop on the Monorail away! Where will we be dining?? The Contemporary? The Poly? The Grand Floridian??

Well of course our newly transformed princesses will be eating at 1900 Park Fare!! We have a 6:10 ADR.

Last trip we had a great time here and the characters were so much fun! I'm just hoping that we have better weather because the last time we got caught in a TORRENTIAL downpour in M.K. as we were leaving to go to our ADR! We were soaked to the bone despite ponchos and a stroller cover! Addie was nice and dry because she hopped in the stroller and stayed under the cover... the little one on the other hand decided that she was going to scream bloody murder and throw the cover off her head. It was probably the worst experience of my life. When we got the the Grand Floridian, thank the Lord they met us with towels and I took myself and Harper to the bathroom and wrung out her dress and used the hand dryer on myself in an attempt to dry out. It. Was. Awful. So I'm praying this pre-dinner experience is much better!

After dinner we may just head back to Pop because our friends Sean, Chelsea and their son Chase will most likely be in Orlando by then! I have to talk with them about whether or not they want to hit up both Wishes and MSEP while in town for the weekend. If they don't, we may do the one that they don't want to do so we can get it done :) If not, maybe we'll have them over to the resort to swim... or maybe we'll just all hit the hay to prep for a fun day in the parks with them!

What will the next day bring??

love the Christmas photos! looks like everyone had a great time and got lots of awesome stuff! I can see why you were worn out!

I was hoping the 7 dwarves would be open when we go, but I can't find anything about it being open yet. I hope you get to ride on it when you go!

do you think, if you called to ask, they would let Harper in BBB since she'll be so close to 3? they always seem willing to work with everyone, and since her birthday is so close, I was just wondering if they wouldn't make an exception.

I felt the same way about FP+. I'm a planner, but our park touring "style" is to walk in a sort of loop and do what we want when we get to it. I really didn't think I would like the idea of having to be somewhere at a certain time just because we had a fastpass then. BUT--I have to admit--I liked it much more than I thought I ever would. it actually helped me plan our days and I feel like it worked out great. I guess we'll see how it really works, but right now, i'm feeling like it might not be as bad as I thought.

love the pic with lady tremaine! we are trying dinner there too this trip. I can't wait! our youngest is in love with the stepsisters right now and I keep reading about how hilarious they are.

your plans for the day sound great! I love a day in magic kingdom!

Christmas looked liked lots of fun! Your DDs looked so pretty in their Christmas dresses. Your girls got so many cute Disney gifts. I am really hoping the mine train is open too. I want to check it out. Looks like a good first day to me.

When I called to book Addie's appointment I told them I really wanted to book one for my other daughter and they told me I couldn't :( I bet if I call now I wouldn't be able to find a time close to Addison's. Hopefully we can do something to make up for it! It should be enough that she gets to spend her birthday at Disney... but unfortunately you can't really reason with a 3 year old like that! Ha ha!

And that's exactly how our park touring "style" is! I know it will be nice going in knowing what our fastpasses will be... but I guess I just worry about having to wait forever at other rides now because we were always able to pull more than 3 FP's a day! I'm curious to see how it goes for you guys!!

You will love 1900 P.F.! The step-sisters and Lady Tremaine were all hilarious! Addie went to give Lady Tremaine a hug like she did with everyone and while she was hugging her Lady Tremaine had this disgusted look on her face like Addie had the plague or something! It was so funny!

Thanks!! Best part about their Christmas dresses is that I waited forever to buy them... and went into Gymboree when they were having their everything $19.99 and under sale! I got Harper's dress and Addie's skirt for $9.99! Gotta love a good deal!!

I can't wait to hear an official opening date!!

Just wanted to wish everyone out there a Happy New Year!!

2013 a tough one with finding out my grandpa had cancer, the loss of him just 4 short months later and then having to adjust to life without him. So I am NOT sad to see 2013 go! And I know 2014 will bring much happiness, starting in February when my sister has my little niece or nephew!! My sister found out she was pregnant within minutes of my grandpa passing... so I KNOW that he or she has a perfect guardian angel up there!

And best thing about it being 2014?? I can finally say "We're going to Disney THIS year!!!"

Hi Andrea! :wave2: I'm with you....I'm not sad to see 2013 go either. I lost my last grandparent this past year also.

And....AMEN! We ARE going to Disney World THIS year!

I'm so sorry to hear you lost a grandparent this year too :( It's tough!

And Amen is right!! I cannot wait to be in Florida... especially since we have at least 10 inches of snow outside!

Just a couple of flurries here, but it's only 19 degrees today.....in North Alabama! That's pretty darn cold for us! Anyway, May cannot get here SOON enough for us!

Man, I've been busy since the New Year... and I haven't even worked yet!!

It all started out with our trip to Dallas! We headed down there to watch our beloved Missouri Tigers beat Oklahoma State in the Cotton Bowl!! And an added bonus was getting to see my sister since she lives down there! We had an absolute blast and watching our Tigers cap off a wonderful football season with a win against our old Big 12 Conference was even sweeter! Getting to see "Jerry World" up close and personal was pretty cool!

And then we got home just in time to beat this...

Holy Deep Freeze Batman!! My car said -11 this morning... this is Missouri, not Minnesota for gosh sake! Our kiddos were supposed to go back to school Jan. 2nd and still haven't been back! Tomorrow makes 5 snow days in a row. It's the Christmas Break that doesn't end... yes it goes on and on my friends...

And then the best news of all... Discounts came out!! :cheer2::cool1::cheer2::cool1::cheer2:

Our awesome T.A. was on the phone for 4 hours and 15 minutes, but she got saved us $331!!! She had already gotten my in-laws discount when the Visa discounts came out, so looks like we're all set now!! Now, Southwest just needs to put their flights on sale so we can get some points back and I'll really be a happy camper!

Okay... now where were we?? Oh yeah, Day 3!!

Day 3 starts our 2 fun-filled days with our friends! Our friends moved to Miami a few years back, so whenever we do get to see them we love it! Sean was one of our groomsmen in our wedding and then Derek was his best man... so needless to say, we <3 them! I'm excited that their son will be almost 2, so he should be a blast too!

So what park will we go to for our first day with them?!?

Magic Kingdom again!!

This is the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend... so I am preparing myself now for crowds. :/ We've been lucky enough to go during "slower" times, so this will be a new experience for us. I hope we survive :)

Our friends have yet to book a hotel, so I'm not sure where exactly they'll be staying. If I was a betting woman, I'd bet they stay off-site. I don't think they've ever stayed on-site while visiting WDW. So... I'm going to assume they will just meet us there in the morning sometime.

As far as our "touring" goes, I'm not sure how this is going to work. If all 9 of us (friends, in-laws and us) will plan to stick together the whole time or split up. And I'm not sure how this whole FP+ thing is going to work if they're off-site! I guess we'll just have to plan our own, and then they're on their own if they want to utilize FP. Maybe I'll have to talk to my trusty T.A. about that :)

Anyways... morning will be spent in the park and then we plan to to a CS lunch in Magic Kingdom. Where? We'll just have to play it by ear!

After lunch, our friends will be heading back to put their son down for a nap and we may all do the same. If no naps, then rest time at the resort will probably be due!

After some down time, we will all meet back at Magic Kingdom for the evening... why? Because we have a date with the Beast!

We managed to get a 6:45 reservation at Be Our Guest!!

This was one restaurant that EVERYBODY wanted to go to! Neither our friends or my in-laws have been here and it's my DH's favorite! At first we weren't able to get it, so we had booked at Liberty Tree Tavern... but then thanks to the Dis I learned that they opened up tables and I snatched it up! Now, in order to get a reservation for 9 people I had to finagle it a bit. We technically have 2 reservations... one for 4 people and one for 5 people. I'm hoping to get us all there in plenty of time and ask if there is a way to be seated together. If not, hopefully we'll at least get a table next to each other. If we can't be next to each other, then we'll just split up. My girls will sit with their grandparents and then we'll sit with our friends. Crossing my fingers it all works out!

After dinner we'll either do more rides or try to grab a prime spot for...

and

If our friends want to watch both of these we will be more than happy to! Now, if they don't we may try to hit up MSEP on Friday before we meet up with them and just hit up rides during MSEP and catch Wishes after :)

Then it's back to Pop for nighty night!

I am so sorry to hear about your Grandpa.

My DH would be so jealous you made it to the cotton bowl. He was glued to the TV the entire game. Glad you made it back before the blizzard came through! I can't believe this weather, but then thats Missouri for ya! We get a little bit of everything!

We loved BOG a lot! Such a magical place. I am excited you were able to get an ADR. I am hoping one opens up for us when we get closer to our travel dates. Last July we were about to get a better time at BoG about a month out from our travel dates, so I will keep checking.

Great update! I've always wanted to go to "Jerry World" also! Glad your team got a big WIN in the Cotton Bowl.

I know it's probably driving you crazy that you cannot make more concrete plans as it pertains to touring MK with nine people! I've never been confronted with that challenge, and I don't think I would respond too well! :)

Definitely keep checking!! Maybe when the 45 day mark rolls around people will drop them! Fingers crossed!

Yeah... 9 people is tough! I guess I'm hoping that we'll get to the parks before them and not take as much "rest" time that we can get the stuff we want done while our friends are not there! Luckily my MIL and FIL pretty much just do whatever we do, so they're not so difficult! Ha ha!
