10 months to go and 60 pounds to loose.Update 1/2/11 Page 38

I love me some Mickey Bars! They are my favorite Disney treat.:lovestruc

Danielle and Dennis has a blast in the French Quarter arcade in Feb. The best part was something was broke so they had unlimited free play.

We look so forward to the meals. It's an attraction in its self.

Did you see that Chef Mickey no longer comes around to tables? :(

NO WAY!!!! Why would they have a character meal called "Chef Mickey's" and not have Mickey !!!?? Is he just in the first photo? If so that is so crappy. The line is so long at that picture we usually just say we dont want the picture so we can be seated..... I guess they are really trying to get people to purchase the pics maybe!?

Thanks for telling me- that would have been disapointing. Now I can prepare the kids and the hubby!

Free Play!!:thumbsup2 The meals really are an attraction. We really enjoy our meals at Disney and look forward to them.

Good morning Dis Friends!!! I hope you all had a great weekend. We are getting ready for another day of Football and will be going to a little party to see the Patriots play this afternoon and then Wayne's brother and his girlfriend and his daughter will come over to start our new Sunday Night routine - "Boardwalk Empire" nights!

Go PATS!!

Ok, onto the Kids TOP 25 List!!

NUMBER 21 - RIDING THE MONORAIL

P1000311.jpg

There is nothing quite like sitting in Chef Mickeys and seeing the monorail pass through!! Or taking that first ride to the Magic Kingdom and seeing the Castle and realizing "we made it!!" I remember the kids first monorail trip and heading to the Magic Kingdom and the excitement on their face brought me to tears.
In May 2009 on our first night in Disney, we had our traditional first night dinner at Chef Mickeys and took the Monorail to the Poly to see the fireworks! It was quite a ride actually!! Thanks to research on the DIS, Wayne asked the driver if we could sit up front and he said YES! It was an incredible experience.

Once in a lifetime because they are no longer letting people do this (because of the accident with the monorail I think). :sad1: But I am so glad that we were able to do this. The "Pilot" said before we took off, "this will be your best ride in Disney". He was right!!! It was so cool. It was night so everything was lit up and looked so magical. The kids got a license and thought that was the coolest thing ever!

IMG_1803.jpg

It was a pretty amazing first night and I think you can see why the kids put this on their Top 25 List!!!

We've played at the arcade a few times with the arcade cards in the MYW package! The first year we took Emily, Mike got a picture of the 2 of them in a photo booth, so we do that every year now.

We consider dining at Disney part of the experience too! Each restaurant is like an attraction, that's why we try to eat at different places each trip. Plus, we love food!!;)

Have a great day! football watching...
I love the monorail! just wish Ashton would have had an opportunity to see what it was like to be a pilot just once...but, OH! well we still love the smooth, cool ride from MK to Epcot!

We love the Monorail too! There is no way I would leave a DIsney vacation without riding it! We got to sit up front on our May 2009 vacation too! I'm so glad we did since they are not allowing the rides anymore! It was pretty special, too bad Eva will never get that ride :sad1:! Riding at night is really cool! I remember riding up front from Epcot to the GF in the dark when I was 14ish and we hit a bird on the Monorail track! The driver said that happens alot!

We look forward to some more Monorail action in December!

I'm so jealous that your kids got to ride in front. We were all set to ride up front, I had asked the cm and she said yep just go stand over there. Right at that point another family cut in front of us. I didn't make too big of a deal over it cause we still had a few days there and i knew we would be back the next year. Unfortunately that accident happened before our next trip. :(

About Chef Mickey's, apparently they took away that old plate you used to stand in front of and you now get pictures with Mickey, kind of like what they do with Donald at tusker house now. He does not come to the table anymore. I read a thread about it in the restaurant forum yesterday. :(

They are doing a test fun for the next 2 weeks so lets hope they do not keep it this way! It actually wouldn't be so bad if they didn't charge $30 for the photo. They could give it to you like at Akerhaus and CRT or let you add it to your Photopass! I was reading that you can use your own camera to take the picture.

Riding up front is the best!:thumbsup2 We did it not too long before the accident last year. I'm so glad we got the chance to do this.

Family dinners, so sweet! The photo of the tepanyaki chef is hilarious. Great shot!

I <3 the Monorail! No trip is complete without waiting for it and riding it! AND riding shotgun on the Monorail!! :cool1: That is so cool; and your boys must have been so excited (and you all too!).

Great choices in the countdown.

Hi Connie,
Happy Monday!! Blah I am soo tired. We lost our game.... Boardwalk Empire was pretty good though!!

We love the Monorail too! There is no way I would leave a DIsney vacation without riding it! We got to sit up front on our May 2009 vacation too! You hit a bird!!:scared1: We had some not so magical moments with the monorail last year staying at the Poly.... it was always delayed or broken. One night we were stuck on it for 30 minutes after park closing with a very full load of cranky people.... there was a family with this screaming kid and the father HIT the kid in front of all of us. :scared1: It was awful. I am glad my kids do not remember that though and still thought of the monorail as a top 25 thing to do in Disney!

Oh that stinks!!! Some people huh!???

Thanks for the info... I will have to read up on it.

Thanks Wendy!! Maybe it will not stick. I really like Mickey coming around the tables. Do you know at Tusker house- if Donald signs autographs? We were trying to remember and I think they said he didnt.... if that is the case then that would stink to go to Chef Mickeys and not even get his autograph!

Riding up front is the best!:thumbsup2 We did it not too long before the accident last year. I'm so glad we got the chance to do this.

I am glad you guys got the chance too. Its sad they cant do it anymore.

Hi!!! Thanks and yes the boys were pretty excited!! I put their licenses in a scrapbook.

Kids Top 25 List

NUMBER 20 is KIDCOT!!!

IMG_2042-2.jpg

The boys loved visiting Epcot and decorating their masks in each country.

Here is a cool site that explains Kidcot
http://www.stitchkingdom.com/kidcot/

One of the reasons I loved having the kids do the masks was that it gave us a reason to talk to the CM's in each country. It was so interesting to talk to them about their home and how they liked working for Disney. It was a highlight for sure from our last trip. Here is a really special CM we met in Norway. She was telling us she was heading home in a month and was very sad to have to go. She called us over because she answered a call from Goofy for Myles to wish him a happy birthday!

IMG_4109-1.jpg

aw I love that Goofy called him!

Madeline likes the kidcot too. Although she got bored with it before we got to all the countries. She still got all the tokens but hurried through the last few.

I love Myles' face on the phone!!!:goofy:
we did not try Kidcot sounds like something I would enjoy doing with Ashton when he is a bit older!

Hi Shannon,
I didnt know about the tokens until I was just reading up on Kidcot on that website I posted! Do you ask the CM's that are helping out with the masks? On the trip before this (may 2007) We were eating at Chef Mickeys and when we walked in we were called over and Wayne got a birthday call from Goofy too!

I love Myles' face on the phone!!!:goofy:

Hi Connie!! I know- Myles was a bit shy when the girl called him over. Oh, I am sure Ashton would love the kidcot stations!!

Nickie - I am loving the top 25 list so far! What a great idea - although I have no idea how you went about ranking things!!! That would be hard!

Looking forward to #19!!! :goodvibes

Are you serious? This is horrible. I can say this is another dumb move. UGH!!!! :sad2::sad2::sad2:

Love the boys pick of riding the monorail! We rode in the front once but we did not get the license. Oh well.

Kidcot is fun for the kids and for the parents. Keeps them busy while the parents find a few adult drinks. ;)
