I'm seeing how much of a glutton I am at Disney. A major part of my trips is eating though. We don't have meals so much as graze throughout the day, but we will easily drop $100 a day without trying. We could do it on a budget but this is our big fling so why not have creme brulee three times a and a 48 ounce steak for dinner? I guess that's why I am curious about this $10.

As a foodie, I would recommend looking at what some of the spots have. I think just about every counter service has something a little different from the norm that might become a new favorite when there. Also something to note is a few of them have some amazing fixings bars and you can take a low cost plain meal and make it something more filling, easier to share and no longer plain.

I am similar in that eating out is part of the vacation so having some fairly expensive table service meals (that are definitely more expensive than they would be outside of WDW) is part of the vacation ... but I think we try to pick and choose and not get dessert if we aren't really feeling it and splitting things at times and especially for counter service don't need full meals for everyone
Adult beverages are also part of vacation for us so that adds to the bill too
Cool, now how about the guidelines? Is that $10 just the cost of the meal not including tax and drink or is that $10 a grand total including tax and drink?
When I go to the parks in the past without the ddp, I would sometimes get a sandwich without the sides or get a hamburger kids combo 3 years ago before the change at Pecos. I have not been in ages, but the pulled pork fries at Flame Tree which is a side might be enough for a light meal snack.
We don't buy much adult beverages during the trip, since it gets costly and we drink a lot of water (bottles brought from home or the free water).
We have split nachos from RFC and T-Rex and felt full enough which would average under $10 each (when it was between 15-17 dollars) before tip.
