10 GB for $60 offered one weekend in 2017

I phoned Fido today because I noticed my cell bill increased a bit.

I have the 10 GB for $60 plan that all the major companies were offering one weekend back in 2017 (November?). I was paying $75 for 2 GB back then so I jumped on it.

It's been increased to $65 for 10 GB.

Fido says because it's not a contract plan (I'm on a BYOP monthly) they can raise the price and are raising the price to bring the plan more in line with other cellular companies' plans. The agent I spoke with offered another 3 GB on my plan for 12 months for the inconvience of the price increase...

Did anyone else snag one of these plans on that weekend they were offered? Has your price increased??

EDITED: He was able to offer a better internet package for us at the moment however. We were paying Fido $60 for 60 downloading speed (10 uploading). Now it's $32.50 for 75 d/l and 10 u/l for 12 months. Then increases to $65. Next year I'll see about renegotating the cost.

No I’ve only been with Fido a little over a year. I signed on for the 1gb for $55 with permanent bonus 3GB so I have 4GB. Paying $50 because daughter is on my acct too so get a discount on second line. Then over the summer I got text offer to add 2 more GB free. Brings me up to 6GB. But that promo falls off in June. I plan on calling to see if they’ll put I back on!

I’m still reeling from the roaming increase. Now 15 days, up from 10 days First it was $5/10 days, then $7/10 days. Ugh.

Don’t understand the bring plans up to other Cellular companies. Doesn’t sound like they want to be very competitive. It’s still a monopoly with the 3 big companies owning everything. Compared to the rest of the world, we’re getting robbed.

Grabbed the same plan from Koodo as they are the only ones not to announce an increase to (Telus, Rogers and Bell all have).

I meant 10 GB for $60. I'm not sure how to change the title of the post.

I have a friend who's with Rogers and he said his also went up $5.

Super easy to fix! Go to the top right of your first post, click on thread tools and then select edit title. Picture for you if that's confusing

My Fido plan hasn’t gone up. Still have 4GB for $50 plus 2 GB bonus till June, at which time they told me to just call them and they’d put it back on. I really don’t need it, when I’m home. Everywhere is wifi. Shaw Open is everywhere. It’s only when I travel that the 6GB comes in handy.

If my rate did go up I’d be phoning customer retention to see what they will go. Since I’m BYOP I can go elsewhere.
There’s usually lots of promos out during summer for back to school.
