$10 Fee to add Dining Plan

Talked to a CM 2 days ago...she stated that if in the 45 day window.....adding dining costs $10 and taking it away costs $50 change fee.

Basically removing dining "downgrades" your package so you get the $50 fee.

With that being said though I am sure it is up to the CM. It seems silly to charge someone $10 when they are making more money.....:confused3

The $10 fee is NOT up to the CM. Its added automatically within 14 days from travel. The $50 fee IS something the CM has to add or have guest services approval to not add

And yes you are giving Disney more money but youre doing it at an inconvenient time. They have to send out new documents and update the computer systems to add your dining plan in. Think of it as a handling fee.

WHOA! No need to be so testy. What I meant was some people have had the fee and others have not. I am sure if it upset someone so bad they would not "lose" the dining money over a $10 fee.

Sorry my choice of words did not cover what I was trying to say.

For myself and some of the others posting, we're traveling soon so they aren't sending out new documents, they're just going into the computer and changing a code on the ressie and sending an email with that info.

I'd understand the fee a bit more if they did in fact have to mail out new docs or if we weren't technoligically advanced and they actually had to print out docs and throw away ones that are already prepared, but in reality, we're spending more money than we've already paid them, they are pushing a few buttons and all is fixes. And they're 'penalizing' the guest for wanting to spend more money-and judging by this thread, it's not the same for everyone, and I think that's what might be bugging people the most.

I was NOT charged the $10 fee (I double checked on by ressie) and I made the changes 7 days prior to leaving (which will be tomorrow). I think Disney needs to share any fees they will add on - instead of saying that there are no changes fee if you upgrade your pkg (which they told me).
