So, 10 days/$300.
How would you do it? Borrowing is not an option.

Take clothes to a resell shop. The place I sometimes bring my old kids clothes to will write you out a check right there and then.

Not sure where you live but could you offer to mow someone's lawn? Maybe clean the house of a friend? Offer to wash people's cars? Maybe till up their garden? Pull weeds? Clean out old debree from their garden?

Could you babysit for friends?

Maggie

Great ideas, but I'm disabled so the manual labor wouldn't work. Babysitting is always a good one, but I don't know anyone with small kids! LOL

YARD SALE! I would go through and mark anything I haven't used in awhile for liquidation, as welll as call any friends and relatives to see if they have anything they would like you to get rid of for them. I am famous for selling things that yard sales that others would consider ridiculous. Pots and pans, (older ones) blender (I hadn't used it in years) and funny appliances (the specialty ones like iced tea machine, food dehydrator, etc.) If I can live happily without it, it is sacrificed for the Disney cause!

Ebay worked great for me. I made over $600 in one week. Now, $200 of that came from a piece of exercise equipment, but everything else averaged from $5 to $50. I got rid of some stuff just sitting around the house (lots of books) and made my Disney $$ at the same time. One piece of advice if you need to make the money fast, only accept Paypal. It takes too long for money order to arrive.

Do you have a credit card? I love em! ;)

See if you can get a telemarketing job or offer shopping forpeople ar get a paper route for the quick $$

I would say eBay too. Especially if you have alot of stuff around the house to sell.

LOL, I think the OP said borrowing is not an option! :)

I heartily agree with the yard sale idea. My friend asked me to participate in her yard sale recently and I thought I had nothing much to sell, but once I rounded everything up it was quite a bit and I netted $100 with very little effort!

Good luck!

I had a bunch of tangled up 14K gold chains that were broken and couldn't be fixed (broken in the middle not at the catches), and earring orphans (you know the type, you lose one then what do you do with it?) - took it to my jeweler and sold them. Gold and Silver is very high now, and for 3 chains and about 5 single earrings I got $100!! I was going to have the chains fixed, but it would have cost that alone. It wasn't like I was missing them either - they have been in my jewelry box for years.

Do you have any change around the house that you can roll up and take to the bank. We just had an unexpected $400 vet bill for our dog. With a WDW trip coming up we really didn't need that extra expense. When I complained to my DH, he said " I bet we have more than that in change in the jar in the basement. Sure enough he has been throwing his change in a jar, for who knows how long and I wasn't even aware of how much there was (actually a couple of jars.) I started counting it out and already rolled $280 with much more to go. So, maybe look around for some forgotten change, you never know what you will find.

Lots of good ideas already. Here are a few more:

Recycling? Cans, plastic, etc.

You said you didn't know anyone with small children. What about the elderly? A lot of people pay others to sit with their grandparents, just to provide them company.

I definitely agree with selling anything and everything you have that you don't use. Another place to look to sell things (you'll probably get much less than they are worth) is a pawn shop. Also, if you're crafty or have a special skill, make some things and sell, sell sell!

Do you have things around that you haven't used and don't really need that you could return? I bring things home from Wal-Mart all the time that I don't even get into for weeks. :(

The Dollar Stretcher, www.stretcher.com, may give you some additional ideas.

Hope this helps.

If you have a lot of friends to refer set up an INGdirect account. You get $25 and you can refer up to 25 people and get $10 each. But as I writing this I just realized you need to leave the money in the account for 30 days. At least you'd have it when you got home.

PM me if you need more info

I have to disagree with the poster who suggested credit cards. Have you seen how much the average American owes on these things? It's ridiculous! Most people will literally never be out from under that debt. I'd sell plasma before I'd get into that mess.

Someone here at my work just started doing at home stuffing envies for someone she knows. I think the company is mail works or something like that. She recently did a job stuffing acceptance letters for a local college and it took her and a friend 3 hrs to do and they made $50 bucks. I guess the job $ varies by how many mailers and how much stuffing is involved.

Maybe there is someplace like that around you.

Can you transcribe stuff? Our office pays a ton of money for transcribing phone conferances and stuff like that (personally I think it's worth the $, I had to do it once it was long and I'm not the best typist) but I think we pay at least $150 each time we have it done.
