We have booked a trip in october for 10 days now that the boys are a little older, usually we do 7 days, but it never seems to be quite enough, taking our time with the DK's of course. My question is: has anyone gone 10 days with the family, and do you think it was too long?

We did 10 days on our first trip. It was August and it really helped us not feel too rushed. I think we had 2 nonpark days, no 3, counting arrival and depatruredays, and a water park day.

I mean come on, can one really have too much Disney?

With the exception of our first trip in 2000 and an adults-only trip we've always gone for 11 days/10 nights. It's a good amount of time, especially when the crowds are a bit heavier. Our trips seem more relaxed because there's plenty of time to see what we want without feeling rushed. If the kids (DD9 and DS4) want to spend extra time at the pool, we don't feel like we're having to adjust other things to make that happen. Of course, the time still flies. I don't think a month would be enough for us. :)

Nope. Too short.

We have gone on 3 different 9 night trips. They were all too short. We're going to try 16 nights in August and see if that is better. :)

It's never too long for us. We visit Disney 2x per year, once in December and then in either April or June. In December we will do 7 days but in the summer months we definitely go for it and do 10-11 days. You will definitely enjoy your time as you don't have to rush to do it all and you can do each park several times. Have Fun!

We just got back from a 10 day vacation in January with a 6 year old and a 6 month old, and we thought it was perfect!!!!!

We gone for 10 days twice and both times we left feeling like we didn't have enough time. Maybe if you are just staying on property it will be enough, but if you have a car and want to tour the area a little bit, then 10 days is not enough.

We did 10 days on our first trip and each trip since then has been a little shorter. We always wish we could squeeze in another day or 2. If I ever win the lottery  I'm going for a month and I still don't think that would be long enough. Can I live at Disney World? :cloud9:

IMO if you can go for 10 days, DO IT!! :thumbsup2

In the past we have done 5 to 7 night trips and we definitely felt TIRED when we got home, so for this past trip(our 4th as a family) we stayed in WDW for 9 nights 10 days and plus a day on either end for traveling. It was SOOOOO nice.(the 5 night was a whirlwind). I am writing a slow TR about it now. It was wonderful. We had a no park arrival day, then 3 days of parks, then a rest day that wound up semi-rest!, then 2 days in the parks, then a rest day, then our last day in the parks. On departure day we chilled out, left late. SO worth it. I am not sure I want to go back for less days in the future, but my bank acct may choose differently. Esp if we want to get back thee sooner!

Go!!!

10 days is never too long for us.

We've got a 12 day WDW trip planned for this summer! :thumbsup2

The longest we've ever done is 8 nights, but this year we are doing 11 nights:). My goal for this trip is to do everything we want to do without feeling rushed, hence the extended stay.

Our last 2 trips were both 21 days - we'd planned a couple of non-park days the first time but after a couple of hours at the pool my DH and I looked at each other, said 'are you thinking what I'm thinking?' and were soon on our way to one of the parks!

So that was 21 days, all at one park or another (I confess we did do Sea World, Universal and IOA for a day each), with a child who was 2 the first time, then 3 the second!

Last year we went to California and ended up in Anaheim - we only managed to fit in 12 Disney days this time!

Our first family trip was 7 days and we missed soo much. When we got home we realized that we just flew thru Epcot missing so much in the different country's and a huge part of MGM we didn't even see. DD didn't like the rollercoasters (Space Mountain, Splash..) when we got there at first and by the time she figured out that she loved to go fast it was too late and we were done and headed home. I think we had tunnel vision last trip and this time we are way more prepared. We are going for 10 days in August hoping to actually be able to slow down and enjoy the trip. We didn't get tickets for all 10 days, just 7 plus water parks. I want to be able to take a day at the hotel and Downtown Disney to relax and enjoy more.

We base the legnth of our trip on the time of year we're going. We make multiple trips and here is how we generally break it down. Summer trips (any time between June-August)12-14 days, we like to allow extra time during the hotter months. We spend more time at our resort and enjoy the pools and recreation more. During Oct and Dec trips we tend to stay 7-9 nights, we can do alot more when we're not fighting the heat and crowds. We also don't spend the extra time at the pools because in Dec the weather is hit or miss. Ou trip last Oct we spent alot of time at the pool, the weather was great. We are taking our first spring trip in a few weeks, it is for 7 nights, we will see if that is enough time. Due to school schedules we really couldn't take a longer trip. people who commando tour can do alot in a short trip but we are past that touring style.

So the answer to your question is "NO" , 10 days is not to long.

I'm a huge Disney fan. I love Disney, but I think 10 days is too long. I did 8 days once and by day 7, I was ready to go home. Maybe it's bc I go typically once a year (or twice).
