Fantastic Report :thumbsup2 Loving all your details and photos :goodvibes
I have to get that bread pudding OhMyGoodness that looked amazing and I am so glad you were able to get it.
Can't wait to hear more :)

Ok let me see if I can describe it. It's kind of like a non-sweet pancake that is shaped like a bowl. Then they put roasted potatoes inside of it and the gravy from the roast gets soaked up a little on the bottom. So savory pancake would be my description. I ate the potatoes with the roast and ate the breading part by itself soaked in the gravy. It wasn't bad by any means, just kind of different. Maybe too savory for me I guess. I wouldn't let the yorkshire pudding stop you from getting the dish because there's so much on the plate that even if you don't like it you would still have a lot of other food to eat. Hope that helps!

Hope you have a wonderful time on your upcoming trip :goodvibes

Just wanted to say Yorkshire puddings are one of my fave things ever. As an English girl, you cant have a good roast without it. They are beautiful. A perfect Yorkie pud should be cripsy, lightly golden and soggy on the inside. The Yorkie pud should be used like a boat, filled with gravy. Yum yum.

Brilliant review btw!! Thanks

This will sound daft, but what is meatloaf?
The meatloaf at WPE looks amazing...

Oh my gosh! I didn't realize meatloaf was purely an American dish. I figured it was overseas too. Just google meatloaf recipes. It's made with ground meat, usually beef, baked in a pan or loaf shape and sliced. Some chefs make it with beef and pork mixed half and half. I've made it with ground turkey once in a while. Then you use your hands to mush it all up in a large bowl with seasoning, bread crumbs, chopped onions, etc. My family's favorite is ground beef with Alphabet Soup (tomato based soup with veggies in it). I buy a large can and put half in, half on top. It sounds weird but it's so tasty!

WPE appears to make a very upscale meatloaf. :lmao:

Thanks

Oh.....I am so happy I found your reviews! Love them! We had dinner for the first time at Kona Cafe in July and it was my favorite meal of the trip. It's a must do for our next trip...and I am definitely going to be brave and ask for the bread pudding from Ohanas. :) Also, we went to Hacienda in Mexico and I tried that avocado margarita.....you are not kidding! Heaven in a glass!!!! So excited that I can get one to go!
Thank you so much for sharing!

Thanks so much for joining in :goodvibes Kona Cafe never disappoints for me! Now the bread pudding aspect really bumps it up to my favorite :thumbsup2 I absolutely recommend that margarita! And by the looks of it I would say that the to-go one was in a bigger glass than the one you get if you sit down in there. I could be wrong, but at $12.50 a piece I want to make sure I'm getting my money's worth!

eagerly waiting more food pics and reviews. :) can't wait to start eating tomorrow night LOL

Oh my gosh, you're probably eating great Disney food right now! Hope your trip is very magical so far :goodvibes

Great reviews. Loved the meatloaf sammy at WPE too. So glad you got the pic because we dug in so fast we missed it. Looking forward to the rest of your reviews.

I almost didn't get a pic because hubby was ready to tear into that sandwich :rotfl: I got one just in time thank goodness!

I think WPE will be one of those places we end up eating at 3 or 4 times per trip from now on. I'm just mad at myself for not realizing how great it was during all of my stays at SSR. I could have been walking there for breakfast pizza every morning, but I missed out! :rotfl:

Great reviews and pictures!

Thanks! Hey, it looks like we'll be at WDW around the same time in December! I'm so excited for all the Christmas decorations! Have a great trip!

I can't believe this was my first Yorkshire Pudding! My father's side of the family is all English and I have a lot of family there, so I think I let my heritage down by waiting so long to have one :lmao:

Yorkshire pudding sounds like something I would love. Mmmmmm.

It was pretty good and unique

Subbing. Love all of the pictures and descriptions!! :thumbsup2

It definitely was upscale meatloaf :lmao: I really love meatloaf. My mother in law makes it for me every year for my birthday and she uses chunks of bread instead of bread crumbs, which gives it a little bit of a different consistency and she also puts big chunks of cheddar cheese in her meatloaf too so that every few bites you hit a big pocket of cheese:lovestruc But we are professional meatloafers. Do not try this at home :lmao:

I agree, it is totally unique. Definately. Have a go at making them at home, they are super simple and honestly they really do complete a roast dinner. If you've got English blood in you, you'll have no trouble!!lol

Toad in the Hole, is also a great English dish that uses Yorkie pud batter and you bake sausages into it, its delicious with mash and veg and of course smoothered in onion gravy.
I love this, im sure im going to feel the same way about Meatloaf when i try it in alittle over 45 days!!!

After a lovely morning/afternoon at Epcot we made our way back to AKL where I got to do something I never get to do at home... LAUNDRY! :crazy2: Fun! *Please note the sarcasm*

After that we started to make our way to Saratoga Springs for dinner at Turf Club. This was our longest bus journey yet, but we were not running late for a change so I wasn't too annoyed by the whole thing. It took us an 90 minutes to get from AKL to SSR. I should have just driven there, but I was too lazy to drive myself around. But I'm allowed to be lazy! It's vacation! :)

We arrived at Turf Club exactly on time for our 6pm reservation.

P1030720.jpg

In the hallway leading to the restaurant there are a lot racing jackets framed up on the wall. This is my favorite one.

P1030719.jpg

So cute!

And now here is a better picture of me at the entrance to make up for the picture of me in my last update.

P1030717.jpg

Much better!

We have stayed at SSR twice and both trips we ate at this restaurant three times! We have also eaten here at least once on every other trip. This place is such a hidden gem! I keep waiting for it to catch on, but by the looks of it this trip, it still hasn't caught on. It was EMPTY when we got there! The lesson here is that if you ever find yourself at DTD without a reservation and unable to get in at any of the restaurants, just hop on one of the boats that take you to SSR and it will drop you off right outside Turf Club. :thumbsup2

We were seated immediatly. Then we ordered some drinks and an appetizer to split. I started with the Power Berry Mojito.

P1030711.jpg

This was was delicious and refreshing! I had my very first mojito ever right here at Turf Club on DH's first trip 5 years ago and I've been hooked ever since. You can order one at any of the WDW restaurants I believe. It's in the generic book of booze that's always on the tables at the various restaurants. They seem to change up the flavor of the mojito every year and this Power Berry one was as good as all the others I've had here. I never get them when we eat at other places. Only Turf Club. It's my tradition and I love it. :lovestruc

DH started with the Saratoga Lager

P1030713.jpg

He enjoyed it and said it was comparable to a Sam Adams.

They also brought out the bread.

P1030710.jpg

The rolls were decent, but kind of boring and the butter was sweet, which I like. I think our waitress said it was apple cinnamon butter. :confused3 Not totally sure on that though. This was good, but they changed it from previous trips. You used to get a big hunk of crusty bread and good salty butter. I liked it the old way much better, but this was still good.

For an appetizer we decided to split the Roasted Mushrooms stuffed with spinach, cheese, and garlic.

P1030712.jpg

These were soooo good! The cheese on top had a slight crisp to it and the spinach was so yummy. DH had these for his appetizer on all three of our vists here last trip when we were on the deluxe dining plan. I never tried one since I never had room to spare, but now that I got to have one I'm hooked!

For my entree I had the Prime Rib with Red Bliss mashed potatoes, broccolini, and red wine demi-glace.

P1030715.jpg

This was so tender and full of flavor, but as you can tell there was more fat on this piece than there was meat! But, it's prime rib. I expect that. The mashed potatoes with this were very creamy and I ate them all. Not a broccolini fan, so I couldn't tell you what that tasted like.

For his entree DH got the Grilled New York Strip with asparagus, red bliss potatoes and blue cheese fondue.

P1030714.jpg

He was a big fan of this! He really loved the blue cheese fondue. He even ate the asparagus, which he hates, so it must have been good!

For dessert we both got the Banana Cheesecake.

P1030716.jpg

This was really good! It was more like a banana cream pie than it was cheesecake. The banana flavor was definitely not subtle, but I enjoyed this. They used to have an individual apple pie that was warm and yummy and served with vanilla bean ice cream. They got rid of this off the menu last year and I still miss it. They have an apple crisp now instead, which is good, but not the same.

All in all this was a really nice meal, but I am kind of disappointed this time. I had the same problem last trip too. Everything is tasty, but it's not as good as it once was. They have changed the menu too much in the last 2 years. The entree choices this trip were not what they once were. I almost have a hard time finding something I want now. I enjoy the apps more than the entrees.

I would still recommend it though! Keep this place in mind if you have an open time in your reservations for an upcoming trip. It's one of the easiest places to get a reservation for and is a great place for dinner when spending an evening at DTD!

Alright, I am determined to make rope drop at MGM. Yeah that's right MGM. I refuse to say Hollywood Studios. Refuse. I'm taking a stand! :lmao:

We were close to rope drop. We got there 5 minutes after 9am. We head right back to TSM to grab a FP and hop in line. The wait was already at 70 minutes and the FP return time was 12:35! As Liz Lemon would say, "What the what?" 10 minutes after park opening?! This park is getting ridiculous. So, we grab our FPs, but don't get in line and then we head off in search of breakfast.

I already knew I wanted Starring Rolls for breakfast, but I wasn't sure which treat in particular I wanted. DH likes savory for breakfast, so we wanted to see what options he would have in there too. There was really nothing savory and breakfasty, but the cashier suggested Fairfax Fare. So, we grabbed my treat and DH got a coffee drink and we headed for Fairfax Fare.

DH got his savory breakfast from Fairfax Fare in the form of a Sausage, Egg & Cheese Muffin.

P1030724.jpg

He liked this a lot! Although, what's not to like about this?

He also got some sort of iced mocha coffee from Starring Rolls. We never found out exactly which drink it was. All he told the woman behind the counter was strong and cold!

P1030722.jpg

It was nothing spectacular, but it met his two specifications. :hyper::hyper:

I had the most delicious cupcake ever! The Red Velvet!

P1030721.jpg

One more shot to make you drool!

P1030723.jpg

Okay, and one more of the inside.

P1030725.jpg

This was AMAZING  I have seen so many pictures of this cupcake on here, but I had no idea what was chopped up all over the outside of it. It's toffee! I would have never thought to put toffee on a red velvet cupcake, but it was perfect! Even DH was a little bit jealous and has vowed to get one of his own next trip.

Great start to the morning! Up next... Backlot Express for lunch!

Ok... I'm drooling over the cupcake!!! :lmao:
I love Starring Rolls. I could stay in that store whole day admiring and tasting their cupcakes and desserts!

After a few rides we headed to Backlot Express for lunch. We got there shortly after it opened so we beat the lunch rush. Our food came out very quickly and we found a seat outside since no one else was sitting out there.

We both got the 1/3 lb. Angus Onion Straw Cheeseburger - topped with cheddar, vine-ripened tomato, sliced pickle, lettuce and house spread, served with French fries. Here is a pic of mine

P1030739.jpg

Here is a pick of DH's burger after the addition of BBQ sauce.

P1030738.jpg

This was pretty tasty! I didn't realize it came with some kind of sauce on it until after I ordered. I would have asked for it without, but there wasn't much sauce on it and I couldn't even taste it. The onion straws on it were really good too and I really liked the pickle that came on the burger so I took it off and ate it separate. Yum!

For dessert we both got the Marble Cheesecake.

P1030740.jpg

Here is a pic of the inside.

P1030741.jpg

This was really good too! Very creamy! An all around good meal. I would definitely eat here again :thumbsup2

After this we did a few more rides and decided to head back to the hotel. Before we left I had to go to the Writer's Stop and get a treat for back at the room. The Carrot Cake cookie!

P1030749.jpg

P1030748.jpg

I got this because I thought we were headed right back to the hotel, but on the way out DH decided we should ride Star Tours one more time. This cookie was on a plate inside of a bag and was not in any kind of plastic container and I was worried about it getting tossed around on that ride so I clutched onto my treat for dear life during the ride :lmao: Protect the cookie at all cost! :lmao:

Fortunatly the cookie made it back to the room in perfect condition and I dug right in. Yum! This was so moist and the cream cheese frosting on the inside was delicious! It was basically just carrot cake in hand held form, but it was good. I ate half back at the room and ate the other half the following day and it was still very fresh. Next trip I want to try other stuff from there because they had some amazing looking goodies in there!

Up next... Our least favorite meal of the trip :sad2:

I've had that carrot cake cookie! The lady at the counter recommended it. It was sooooo good.

Love all the pics! I can't wait to go again.

Special ordered bread pudding? Excellent example of the Disney magic we all know and love. :)
Just realized my sister was enjoying this review too!!:lmao: Hey sis!!!:wave2::wave2::wave2:

Aww thanks so much :goodvibes Hope you have a very magical vacation filled with lots of yummy food!
We will have a great trip..lol!! Thanks for all the tips on dining!!:thumbsup2

EOS worked out very nicely that way. And you're right, that does sound good right now! Beats being stuck at work all day!

I only work 5-9pm & the thought of that alone makes me want to fly south!!! Just can't wait to be watchin' the WDW vacation channel in my hotel room, relaxing & eating an EOS. LOL!!!!:rotfl:

Our last day is always spent taking one last ride on our favorites and then heading to DTD. Lunch at WPE and then we grab EOS to go and we eat it at the airport while we are waiting for the plane. I got the Cannonball and it was still delicious 2 hours later:cloud9:
My mom did that. I have yet to try EOS but I sure am gonna try it next trip!!!
I bet it 10x better than the airport food!! ;)
