10 day stay: Food $ = Resort $

I just completed our dining itinerary as tomorrow will be 180 days so we can call and do our ADRs ... I really went all out trying something different everyday.

Now for the real shocker, when I added up the approximate expenses it came out to about the same cost as the resort. Eating at Disney can clean you out really quick. My wife told me we had to cut the restaurant list(s) down, but I told her its not worth it unless we want to starve. I figure its going to cost us on average about $160 a day to feed our family of five.

In past years we never planed out our dining we just shot from the cuff and ate where ever .... I imagine we were had been spending about the same amount it just never hit us because we werent paying attention.

Ahhh well; just thought I'd vent my astonishment and say maybe those dining plans arent such a bad idea after all ... NAH! They would cost us $100 or so a day, really not going to save that much.

We have always spent at least $300+ per day for food for a family of 4. Even when my kids (boys) were younger.

Now that they are older and drink alchohol. I don't even want to think about what we spend per day...

My oldest spends his own money now to travel all over the world, but he'll never pass up a *free* WDW trip with the family. :goodvibes
