10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

Safe travels everyone, and can't wait to meet you all in person. Anyone traveling through the state of Georgia by car...be careful about filling up with gas before you get to the state line and start looking before you need it. That is the main subject of conversation here...Have you seen gas anywhere?
We are flying, but goofy question here for recent travelers. We are taking 2 big suitcases, but are entitled to take 4 that weigh up to 50lbs because we have 4 passengers. Do you think they will be fine if I take 2 overweight ones as opposed to spreading it out over 4 smaller ones. I just like to keep track of less.

I suggest spreading it out over 4 bags - or at least 3. I don't know what airline you travel but Northwest charges more if your bags are over the weight limit. Plus, you will have more room for all those goodies you will purchase.

Gretta, while it would be much easier for you to take only the 2 big suitcases, the main reason for the weight limit is for the poor souls that have to move all our bags around. If we took our 2 50 lbs bags and made it 1 100 lb bag, you can imagine how hard it would be to lift and move around (you included). So, I agree with glindamood and just spread it out...that way you'll have more room for souvies!

Oh my Denise, it's almost here! I totally can't wait to meet you and your family, ds is quite excited too!

Yeahhh!!!! I know...I can't wait either...my girls are a little "wound up"!!! Only 3 more sleeps!!! It is going to be great to have you guys beside us...I am so looking forward to it! I hope you have a safe flight also...I am sure everything will go just fine for us...I am having positive thoughts!!!!

Thank you for the "gift", but you really didn't have to...however, I can't wait to see what it is!

We leave on Fri morning. I only have one more wake-up before vacation. I'm officially on vacation tomorrow at 4:30. On my way home from work I'll be blasting the song VACATION by the Go Go's.

Too funny. I will have to keep an eye out for that. I am jealous of everyone leaving soon. We are leaving at 8:00 PM on Friday and driving overnight! So we will be the ones walking around like zombies at the PORT and sleeping in the chairs by the pool!

HELP! I am STRESSING. What should I have printed to take with me? I have the forms from the online check in. I have my information about our excursion in Grand Cayman but should I have anything else? Like is there a tip sheet for each port?

I thought I had everything planned out and now it's all running together and I'm freaking out. What time do we get to the port? 10:00? Then what? What do we do when we first get on the ship? I already have Palo dinner and our Spa treatment booked. The only other thing I have on my list that I need to do is book Tea with Wendy. So just get on board, go to the pool and have lunch. Is that it?

How often do the Characters come out at the port? Any tips for getting pictures?

Okay, I'm getting off the computer and going back to my packing list.

Isn't funny how even though this vacation has been booked forever and I started packing a week ago, that I'm going crazy tonight?? I know we are all that way. Well except for Lois and company that are already on vacation.

Mindi, the characters will be at the port. Usually Goofy is first out. Sometimes another character or two will come out before boarding begins. Some are there for late boarders. I think you have everything printed you need. If you have an insurance policy, pack that. The port opens at 10:00. The first people will begin boarding around 11:45.

I forgot about tea with Wendy ticks. Someone help me remember that, would you? Other than that, just get on the ship and relax. Personally, I like going to Parrot Cay for the first meal. I think it is more relaxing.

I'll try to check in tomorrow at lunch. We leave around 3:00! Woo hoo!!!!

WOW! I'm sure glad to know other people are as unprepared as I am. As of now I still haven't packed a thing. Just finished altering a dress, kids have clothes picked out, husband is almost done and I haven't started. They just tried to call me in to work tomorrow and I said no way!
It's hard to believe that 48 hours from now I will be sitting in Port Canaveral ready to depart on the Magic! It's time!
Hopefully everyone on there way is haveing safe travels and to all of you leaving before me, have a safe trip. We will see all of you real soon!

I am taking a quick minute to read while my last load of laundry is in the dryer. I have the kids clothes picked out, but not in suitcases yet. Wynn and I have packed nothing! (Our shorts are in the dryer.) And I just found out I will be running to the 24 hr Wal-Mart in a minute because the shoe organizer I bought has no hooks in it. I will be exhausted for the drive down in the AM, but it will all work out in the end.

My mom and dad are already in Orlando got there yesterday so that was exciting to talk to them after they landed! Anyways, must run we have at least an hour drive and most certainly a Tim Horton's stop before we leave!! See you all on Saturday!

Just remember your passports/id's. Everything else can be reprinted or shared by others. Without those you can't get on We leave in 24 hours for the airport and vacation officially begins at 3 pm today

Kim, What time do you have to be at the airport? My husband may be able to help you out. PLEASE let me know if you need anything. He can shuttle you there but don't know how that would help you get home. At least you'd be there!! Call me downstairs if you need anything.

I'm celebrating this morning. I had a goal to lose 20 pounds before the cruise. I start first part of July. I weighed this morning and I didn't quite make my goals but I lost 18 pounds. I am still very excited about that.

We are now officially on vacation!!!! I was supposed to work today, but had lieu time to use so I was able to use some today. Mom's arm is doing better after the cortisone and with the additional medications...so thankful Off to Buffalo this afternoon and flying into Orlando tomorrow. Can't wait to meet everyone. Safe travels!!!

Mindi- We were leaving the house at 5 in the morning. Our big problenm is there are 6 of us that need to get to the airport will our luggage. We were pushing it in the expadition. We are going to see if my mom and the neighbor can follow each other in their cars to get us to the airport, have not even began to think about getting home. will worry about that later. I will let you know if the neighbor cant help us. Thanks for offering DH assistance. Congrads on the weight loss. Plane leaves in 25 hours

Wishing everyone safe travels - and no vehicle issues (or quickly resolved)! Blue skies here at WDW today. It has been warm and humid all week and if it has rained, it did so overnight.

Here is the weather report for CC on Saturday - Partly sunny with a slight chance of showers. Highs in the mid 80s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent. Not sounding too bad.
