10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

Just wanted to introduce our family as we are so excited to be cruising for our first time. Our 7 year old daughter has successfully beaten Leukemia (Cancer) and her wish was to go on a Disney Cruise. The wonderful people at Make-A-Wish have delivered the itineray and we are way too excited!!!

After 25 months of chemotherapy treatment, she is back to herself and we are very grateful. Hope to meet some of the great people from DIS who are cruising this same week.

We are coming from Nashville on Thursday night. The family is upset because I cant get off work early, so we are hoping by 6 to be on the road. Have reservations in Valdosta for the night, then up really early on Friday to get to the Radisson. We are going to go to Kennedy space center on Friday. We will have to have a pool meet at the Radisson Friday night.

It will all work out getting everyone together and out of town. What part of Gerogia are you coming from?

Where in Nashville are you coming from? We are headed down from Murfreesboro on Friday. I can't get off work early either but that's okay we are going to drive overnight and then hubby will crash in a lounge chair by the pool!

Remember the nightmare I had a few nights ago about forgetting to pack my underwear?? Well, I was reading another post on the DIS and it really happened to a family :

"On our June Mexican cruise after our twins go swimming and get back to the the cabin, I tell them to change for dinner... Well both my boys are standing booty butt naked in front of me saying "MOM WHERE IS OUR UNDERWEAR?" After tearing their suitcases apart, Mom conceded that she did indeed forget to pack their underwear. So off to Mickeys Mates I go, and asked for little boys NOT PRINCESSES underwear..The CM went in back and found 4 packs, 3 in each pack of underware...at $9.50 a pack. OH, but what were we gonna do...let our boys go comando?"

Guess what the UPS man dropped off today? OUR CRUISE DOCS!!!!
It is getting close and I am so excited. I'm having a huge dinner party this Sunday so I am busy with that for this week. Next week, its all about shopping, packing, and planning for the cruise!

Jacquelyn, you asked about Pirate Night...

Rich and I are going as full pirate as we can muster! I think DH is leaving his GIANT hat at home to save packing room, but otherwise we are going to kid around. How often do adults get to make fools of themselves acting like pirates for goodness sake?

My first job was actually as a cast member at Disney's Vero Beach Resort. That was in '97! I was a hostess (with the mostess) at Shutters! Maybe I sat you!

Cool! We did eat at Shutters during our stay. As a matter of a fact, I am sure that I still have the menu tucked away upstairs. I even remember that my dinner was Waho fish (the funny name stuck in my head). It really is a small world after all (can't you just hear that music )!

We live right on the TN/GA line outside of Chattanooga. We are planning to make it to Valdosta too. I believe that is where we stopped last year. They closed down our Disney Store this year, so I really need to get to DTD for my Disney Store fix! Isn't that pitiful?? I just really enjoyed being in that atmosphere last year. My five year old niece has never been to Disney (my kids have only been to DW for one day), and I would love for her to be able to go to DTD too.

I just need an extra week of vacation I think!

Just days away now, it's time to panic
I am just finishing up the FE gifts and I do not have family names for Buzznut, Mrs. Gumdrop, and momofpirate. If you would like your gift personalized with your last name please PM me with it.
On the Pirate night there will be 6 of us VERY dressed up and enjoying every minute of it. We are even thinking of doing Christmas cards with our pirate picture on it with a saying something like Yo-Ho-Ho Merry Christmas.

Not sure if you can find out ahead of time about the rotation. But I can call Concierge and see if they can tell me what rotation the 8 of us are on. I'll let you know if I find out anything!

Lois, how can you stand it???!!!??? You know it's gonna be weird as people stop posting and we'll know it's b/c they're either on their way to FL or already there. We still don't know for sure what we're doing. Now my DH has changed his mind and said we'll drive after I get off work and stop when we get tired. Who the heck knows? lol

One of my previous students just called a few hours ago and gave me the heads up that other previous students are planning on rolling my house tonight. It's not malicious cause I am very close with these kids, so I'm going to be prepared with a loaded garden hose, lol. To be quite hones (and to show how immature I am), I rolled a couple of these kids houses myself a few weeks ago (with their parents ok).

That's why I love working with older kids...3rd graders would never think to rolll my house, LOL!!!

I am SOOOO not ready....I really need to quit stressing b/c I've always been the type to do everything last minute, but I keep thinking 2 weeks away... only 2 weeks away, plus I have to plan out Beta Club Convention trip before I leave, pluse plan for a substitute for the whole week.

Very small world, I work at.......Stoncrest!!!! Work in the medical office building for OB/GYN. We need to have lunch some day. I have all my cruise items at the office so the boys will not find them. I know it is in here, but childern?? Ages?? We really need to get in touch.
