10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

The las t time I logged on to the DIS I vowed to check in more often and stay up on all the news from my fellow Buccs...then August happened! First major health issues for me, then work challenges and finally family drama have kept me reeling! Not to mentioned I turned 30 last weekend! Ugh! But Friends, Rich and I will still be on this wonderful cruise is less than a month. I can't wait to see your smiling faces!

Hi Everyone!

I am new to this thread- we just booked our cruise this morning!!
Last minute, I know, but we were waiting for several things to fall into place.

I just wanted to come on and say Hi, because I am usually more of the anti-social type and I want to change that

So, this will be my fifth cruise, but the very first cruise for my DS- 16months My DH is coming, and my DM (her first seven day cruise).

We are SO excited and I hope I get to meet and chat with at least some of you!

DS13 had a baseball game today, now on the way to ER. We think he broke his arm by a wild pitch. I will hate if he is in a cast for the cruise. Wish us luck. With hubby being a medic and I a nurse, we usually guess it pretty close with broken bones. Hate to be guessing this one

Welcome Tracy! That's so cool that you booked a cruise and now have only 4 weeks to wait. You'll have to tell us all about yourself, so we can "catch up" before the cruise.

Kim, so sorry to hear about your son's arm. Ben's collarbone is still giving him a little pain and it's sticking out, but it's a lot better than it was. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your son doesn't have to get a cast.

I ordered my Disney Rewards Card today. Only $80 on it, but that's better than nothing. Also got $100 in gas cards from CitiBank cards, plus a $25 GC to Chili's. As far as the Disney card, do I just take it to the CS desk on the ship to apply it to my shipboard account?

Kari-glad to hear that you made it through Hanna alright. Here in the Philly 'burbs, we are getting alot of rain and high winds right now. We were planning on going to the shore but Hanna kept us away.

This week, I just booked my DH on our 9/14/08 Wonder cruise. He's so excited and said he's glad he only has had 10 days to plan for the cruise. I've added you to post #1.

Our documents will go to our TA, who just got off the Magic today. Hopefully, I'll have them sometime next week (if they have been delivered to her).

Lori, I think that that you are correct about the rewards card. We have still got to get our reward $$ transfered to our card.

Payton (DS10) played his first football game today, making 2 tackles. He is so happy to be out of that boot. Auburn won today also. It is a happy day in our household. Now, if I can just get all of my papers graded and recorded, things will be great.

Yea! Bye Hannah! I'm glad that you are doing well. I remember when Opal came through our area about 11 years ago. It came through around midnight if I remember correctly. It was such a strange sounding storm.

I'm also doing the luggage tag dance! I have a question though. On the last two cruises, I remember getting a special form to fill out for the Bahamas. I didn't see one with this. I have already registered online, but I don't remember seeing anything about it. I haven't printed though (didn't want to lose the forms ). Maybe it is in the forms that will print.

I'm off to swim with the kids. My dad might have us close the pool next weekend, so I'm trying to give them one last whirl.

That is what we did last year. They run it just like a Credit card and that was it. Really easy. Lois

Kim... hope your son is OK. They make a waterproof cast cover that you can buy online. If he does need a cast, just order it and pack it. That way he can still swim, and your secret is safe.

Thanks for all the great prayers last night. Home late from ER, really bad bruise is what the ER doc thinks but radiologist will read on Monday. He is in a sling and no sports till cleared by orthopedics. He is still in a lot of pain. They gave him pain meds last night, and they have not helped. Fell really bad for him. I am glad that dad and I were wrong about it being broke.

Just watching Ike to see what kind of mess he will stir up. Glad everyone is safe from Hannah.

Broken bones? I hope not. Pixie dust and prayers that everyone heals and is castless by cruise time.

What will you be doing 4 weeks from today??? I will be drinking coffee somewhere and thinking about getting ready for brunch. We leave two weeks from next Saturday, I can't believe it. Epcot and the Food and Wine festival will be our Sunday destination.

DH is sitting next to me watching the Food Channel and Tyler Florence and he says HOWDY to all our fellow cruisers.

I have not looked at Ike this morning but prayers and pixie dust to all in his path.

Good Morning Buccaneers!

I will probably not post this week as we leave on Friday for our 9/14/08 Wonder cruise. Our DGS told Dave (Pa) last night that he is going to dunk him in the ocean. All 11 of us are all getting very excited about our cruise. We'll have 3 generations onboard, and the oldest generation will be us- Nana and Pa.

I won't mind going back to work on 9/22, because I'll work 8 days before heading to WDW and the Magic.
